05 : don't mess with a girls food
She didn't realise how many people were clapping for her until she looked up and saw several people wearing golden and red ties cheering her on.
Gryffindor...how on earth did she manage to get into Gryffindor of all houses?
Heck, even her Uncle would be shocked. And that surely had to mean something.
She wiped the sweat off her paling forehead, and sat in an empty spot next to a girl with dark red hair. Ignoring the smiling and curious looks of the people surrounded her, she turned and scanned the other tables.
In the Hufflepuff table, she saw Amelia looking happy and chatting with a few other girls around her age. Amelia's eyes intersected with Bridget's, and she gave a cheesy smile. Bridget laughed. She was happy that the young girl had made friends.
Before she realised, food was scattered all over the tables. Mashed potatoes, steak, chicken, soup, sandwiches...you name it. It was all there.
Food was Bridget's favourite work in the dictionary.
Eagerly reaching for the last chicken drumstick left on the large plate that was near her, someone else's hand grabbed it at the same time. She looked diagonally to her left and saw the boy with perfect raven hair on the train looking offended.
''Chicken legs are my thing,'' he said smoothly.
Bridget gave a cocky grin. ''Oh really?''
She jerked the chicken out of his reach and took a big bite. ''How about now?''
He returned a smirk. ''I still don't mind eating it, sweetheart.''
He jerked it off her and stuffed the whole thing in his mouth, including the bones.
''Hey!''
▬▬▬
After a large desert filled with delicious vanilla ice cream, jam doughnuts and chocolate eclairs, Bridget was sure she had a food baby in her stomach.
She still was rather annoyed over the proud boy that was grinning near her...Sirius Black. Never would she take it lightly if someone stole her food. Never. So when the remaining eclair on her dirty plate was snatched by the devil, she groaned and threw a cupcake at his face without a second thought.
Serves him right.
The girl with red hair next to her looked annoyed and Bridget realised that it was her cupcake. But that wasn't what concerned Bridget the most.
Sirius had cream all over his face. His hair was messed up, but it was his facial expression that caused Bridget to laugh and snort. When majority of the school realised what was going on, they had a mix of reactions. Majority of them were cackling madly, especially the Slytherins. Some of the Ravenclaws had smirks plastered onto their serious faces, and the Hufflepuffs were giggling.
The Gryffindors were simply roaring with laughter.
Sirius licked the cream around his lips and Bridget swore she saw a few of the girls around her drooling.
How disgusting.
His expression morphed into one of anger, and his eyes had narrowed into slits. His hand moved to a platter with cake and he grabbed the vanilla goodness by the handful.
Alertly, Bridget ducked underneath the table just in time to hear a splash noise. She turned around and saw a Slytherin boy with long blonde hair stand up abruptly, and boy, he looked pissed. A large amount of crushed cake and whipped cream was all over his emerald robes, scattered into several places. How some got onto his head was something she'd have to ask later.
James quickly stood up from a few seats away and grinned like the cheshire cat.
''FOOD FIGHT!!''
▬▬▬
As Bridget was brushing her teeth in the small bathroom connected next to the room she was supposed to be sleeping in, the door opened. She turned around and saw the girl with the red hair who sat next to her at the great feast.
Judging by the raise of her perfectly arched eyebrow, Bridget assumed she was unimpressed.
The food fight she had caused, became a great battle involving everyone. Dumbledore got angry and cast everyone to sleep early. That made everyone annoyed, but there was only ten minutes of the feast left, so Bridget was neutral about the whole thing.
Thank god no one caught her. Many people accused Sirius of the fight, and even a few people who disliked Slytherins had blamed the blonde boy. Lucius Malfoy.
There was something off about him, something worse than her feelings about James. Yet, she didn't know what it was. She brushed it off.
No, literally. She was brushing her hair.
After completing majority of her before-bed responsibilities, the girl next to her finally spoke up.
''Hello, i'm Lily Evans.''
She turned around and smiled. ''I'm Bridget Nolan.''
''So, are you friends with Potter?'' asked Evans cautiously.
Bridget scoffed. ''Definitely not.''
Lily smirked. ''That sounds brilliant. Have you ever considered pranking him before? You obviously are the type.''
''Woman I already have.''
Lilys mouth was agape. ''That must've been amazing to do.''
Bridget grinned. ''It definitely was.''
The pair walked out of the bathroom and the first thing Bridget noticed was two other girls sitting on their beds.
''This is Marlene McKinnon,'' said Lily, pointing to a girl with dark blonde hair and blue eyes that reminded Bridget of the sky.
McKinnon grunted in response, returning back to her conversation. The girl next to her with short and dark hair gasped at the action her friend did.
''Sorry for my friends awful behaviour!'' she exclaimed. ''I'm Alice Fortescue.''
They shook hands and Bridget smiled. ''Don't worry about it.''
She had 99 problems, but a barbie girl definitely wasn't going to be one.
