Chapter 17

Ink's pov

We got Horror and Dust in the cell, and closed the metal door; securing all the locks. I teleported upstairs, and flopped onto the couch tiredly.

It's been an eventful week, and it's only going to get more busy from here. Thank goodness I'm not doing everything alone. Thankfully, Blue said he'd check up on Error right now so I can catch a small break.

I summon my sketchbook and pencils, and begin to doodle aimlessly.

Blue's pov

I unlocked the cell door, and entered, closing the door behind myself. I see Error curled up on the bed, mumbling to himself and glitching. He doesn't seem to have noticed me. I sit next to him on the bed.

"gØ awÃÿ iŃk."

"GUESS AGAIN~!"

I said with a giggle, smiling at him. His head emerges from his knees, and he looks as me with surprise.

"bLue!"

Error exclaimed in surprise.

"HAHA, THE ONE AND ONLY!"

"I hAveN'T sEen yOu iN fOrEvEr!"

"YEAH, IT'S BEEN QUITE A WHILE, HUH?"

Error's mood seemed brighter, until he began to frown and curled up again, looking away from me.

I looked at him in concern.

"YOU OKAY BUDDY?"

I ask, stopping myself from putting a gloved hand on his shoulder. I don't want to stress him out.

"i'M fIne."

Yeah I don't believe that.

"WHAT'S WRONG?"

"ńOthIng."

Stubborn as always. Always so fricking stubborn.

"ERROR PLEASE TELL ME."

He glares up at me, his ringed eyelights staring into my own eyelights.

"...ńØ."

Gosh darn it Error!!

"PLEASE?"

"ñÖ."

Being annoying. One of his big weaknesses.

"PLEASE"

"ńØ."

"PLEASE"

"ńÓ!"

"PLEASE"

"ŃÓ!!"

"PLE-"

"ØKAY FĪŃÊ JÜST ŚHÙT ÜP!!"

He screamed at me, giving in. I smirked in triumph as he sighed, looking up.

"mY émØtiÒns hâVe beEn sO oUt oF wHacK lâTElŸ. ŠTÙPÍD ÍŃK ĪSŃ'T HEŁPÍŃG!!"

Error yelled, glitching out at the end.

Ah, I see. He's not sure how to feel about Ink looking after him, and trying to help him. He doesn't want to like it, but there's so much confusion and conflict he's feeling.

(I thought Dream was the one who could detect emotions and feelings?)

"ī jÙśT wÂńT tHīńGš Tø gO bAcK tO hOw thEy wEre!"

"OH, ERROR..."

I pat him gently on the back, and he stiffens up slightly.

"dOn'T gIvÉ mE yOúR pĪtŸ, bŁúÊ."

He said, looking away from me and burying half his face in his knees.

"IT'S NOT PITY, ERROR. IT'S ME CARING FOR YOU."

Error turned to me, glaring.

"wHÿ ćÃn'T ÿÒu gÛÿs jÙsT łÉàvE mÉ àłOnÉ?!"

He yelled at me, clearly pissed off.

"You really want to be alone?"

I said, lowering my voice. He shivered at my tone, his arms gripping around himself tighter than before.

"You want to go back to the anti-void, where there was nothing there but you? Nobody there to talk to you?
The place that messed you up and made you insane?"

He went quiet. Only his glitches and static could be heard, as his eyelights went out and were replaced by more error signs.

He looked so small and fragile, so sad and lonely like this. This is bringing back memories...

————————————————————————

Everything is so fuzzy... so white. Am I dead...?
I can't die, I still have so much to do...!
Wait... where am I?

I stand up, looking around. There's some sort of blue strings everywhere... now I remember.

Some black glitchy skeleton came, and forced me to fight my brother with his scary strings. I had no clue Papy was so strong, but yet it still wasn't enough.

I want to go home...

"ŃØ! ŠTÚPĪD, ŠTÙPĮD, ŚTÛPÏD¡!"

That voice...

I turn around, facing him. He scares me, but...

"ŠHÚT ŪP!!"

What...? Who is he yelling at?

He drops onto his knees, hunching over and grasping his head. His back is faced to me, and I can hear his gasping for air.

"EXCUSE ME... ARE YOU ALRIGHT...?"

I ask, stepping closer to him.

He freezes up, and his glitches remain in place. I'm beginning to regret- no. I must make sure he is okay. I wouldn't be the magnificent Sans if I didn't help those in need!

"ÿ Ø ú . . ."

Ohhhh shit.

He slowly turns his head around, his neck creaking with each movement.

He gets up shakily, now facing me. His hands drag down his face slowly, his arms falling limp at his sides.

"UH... HELLO...?"

I take in his appearance. Bones as black as midnight, aside from his cherry red legs, and golden yellow fingertips. Sapphire tear marks streaking down his face from his eyesockets. The most noticeable feature other than his glitches are his eyelights. The left socket has one singular white light, and the right socket has a yellow light, which has a blue ring around it.

I've never seen such a...unique monster. Well to be blunt, I've never seem anyone like him at all.

"šTøP śTâRįŃG!"

I jumped at his voice. It was... glitchy...?

"AH, SORRY!"

I apologized, and he then looked away, and looked up as though he were being hunted by something. He looked down and began to mumble words I could barely make out; not only because he spoke quietly, but the glitching and static in his voice made it harder to decipher what he was saying.

He started walking away, stumbling slightly with each step. Something feels so off about him. Then, a random beanbag and some boxes came out of nowhere, but before he could make it there he collapsed onto his knees, and curled up into a ball.

"łËäVē mĒ ãŁøŃē...!"

Is he talking to me or...? No matter, I think he needs my help!

"EXCUSE ME, ARE YOU ALRIGHT?"

He yelped when I spoke, and his body stiffened. His glitches were flickering around madly.

I walk in front of him, and crouch down to his level. He looks up at me, and... like this, he doesn't look like the big, scary destroyer. He looks small, fragile, and hurt. His big, sad eyes look at me with loneliness and fear. Even without seeing his eyelights, I can see he's in lots of pain.

No words were spoken as we stared at each other. He curled up a little more, the static growing louder.

Perhaps one of the magnificent San's hugs will help!

I sit on my knees beside him, and wrap my arms around him, resting my head against his.

A loud scream made my soul freeze, and he stopped moving as the static was now blaring.

————————————————————————

I won't let Error down. As his friend, it is my job to make him feel better!

"THAT'S ONE OF THE REASONS WHY INK BROUGHT YOU HERE, ERROR. IT WAS SO HE COULD HELP YOU. HE REALLY CARES A LOT ABOUT YOU, YOU KNOW."

He slowly looked at me, and I smiled gently at him in response. He looked down slowly, and sighed.

"wHy mUsT tHīS aLl bÊ sO cOnFúsÏnG, bŁùÊ...?"

I resist the urge to wrap my arm around him, for the sake of keeping him calm and not messing with his fear of touch. The goal here is to get him better, but I'm not quite sure how to do that, thankfully it seems that Ink knows what he's doing.

"IT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT USED TO ANYTHING LIKE THIS, BUT DON'T WORRY, YOU WILL GET USED TO IT SOON. ANYWAY... IS ANYTHING ELSE BOTHERING YOU?"

"wEll... i fEel... wEiRd. lIke... tHeRe'S sOmetHing bUilDinG uP iN mY bOdY, aNd iT's uNcOmfOrTablE."

That's... weird. I'll have to talk to Ink about this later. But for now, I must be here for him.

"HEY, ERROR?"

"hM?"

He didn't look at me. He's still feeling down, I bet.

"YOU KNOW, YOU'RE ONE OF THE STRONGEST PEOPLE I KNOW."

He looked at me with shock, then he looked down, grumbling to himself. I could see a yellow glow on his face.

Ah yes, compliments. One of Error's weaknesses.

(Haha I know you Inkerror shippers are triggered)

"j-JusT sHut uP-!"

(...I'm a little triggered myself. But worry not, Error and Blueberry's relationship remains platonic!)

I giggled at his antics. Ah, you can always count on Error to be a big tsundere, haha.

We continued to make small talk for a little while, until I received a text from Ink, saying he would come see Error now. I told him to meet me upstairs, because I needed to talk to him.

"SO, I NEED TO GET GOING NOW, ERROR. I'LL SEE YOU LATER!"

"wHaTeveR, bYe."

And I teleported upstairs to Ink, who was lying on the floor, playing with his toes. How strange.

"UHHHH... INK? CAN WE TALK FOR A MOME- WHOA-!"

He jumped up, grabbing me by the shoulders.

"What's wrong?! Is he okay?!"

"WELL... HE COULD BE BETTER. HE TOLD ME HIS EMOTIONS ARE BEING WEIRD, AND HE FEELS SOMETHING BUILDING UP INSIDE HIS BODY..."

Ink then let go of me and dashed downstairs.

3rd person pov

Ink quickly undid all the locks, and bust in, slamming the door closed behind him.

Error jumped, wincing as the cuffs on his ankles banged together from the chains pulling his legs together.

"Is everything okay?!"

Ink yelled, annoying the shit out of Error.

"ÿËs, nOw ŠHÙT THË FÙÇK UP!!!"

Error screamed at Ink, who blinked in surprise. Ink was now doubting Error, but was still quite worried. He walked towards Error, concern on his face.

"How do you feel physically...?"
