Chapter 16
3rd person pov
Dream and Blue landed right smack in the middle of Haventale. They asked monsters if they had seen anything suspicious, but most of the answers they got were:
"No, everything's been good as usual!"
Dream and Blue were confused. There had been a surge of negativity, and murderous intent...
"That's weird... I could've sworn I felt negativity here, and I can still feel it!"
Dream looked quite conflicted, and Blue patted him on the shoulder.
"IT'S OKAY, WE CAN KEEP LOOKI-"
"Excuse me! Now that you mention it, I did see someone rather suspicious!"
Dream and Blue perked up at the monster's words.
"OH? WHERE DID YOU SEE THEM?"
"Around Waterfall!"
"What did they look like?"
"Well, there was two of them. One had a crack in their skull, and the other had their hood up so I couldn't tell much about them. They oddly looked a lot like Sans..."
Serious looks casted over both skeleton's faces.
"Thank you. We need to get going now."
Blue and Dream whizzed past the monster, and teleported into Waterfall. They looked in Sans' sentry post, listened to the Echo Flowers, asked the monsters in the area, and did a bunch of the puzzles. Then, they put the flower seeds down on the water, forming a flower bridge. They walked across it, and saw Horror and Dust sitting on a bench. Horror was munching on the Abandoned Quiche.
The four skeletons stared at each other for a minute, then Blue broke the silence.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?"
"Eating. Nothing else. Just eating, and on a date."
Dust and Dream blinked. Horror and Blue stared at each other.
"Hey, where has Error been? We haven't seen him in a while."
Asked Dust.
"He died in a hole."
Horror and Dust exchanges glances.
"HEY, IS THAT A CAMERA... WOW, THAT KIND IS SO VINTAGE! WHERE DID YOU GET IT?"
Dust blinked, Horror continued to munch.
"Oh, it's from my AU..."
Dust responded, surprised by not only Blue and Dream's surprise appearance, and also not their new look, but the fact that Blue was interested in a camera.
Horror tapped his foot, a feeling of uneasiness setting over. Dream senses this, and spared a glance at Horror.
Horror sensed Dream looking at him, and turned his head towards Dream. Both looked at each other, then Dream noticed...
"...Hey, is that camera recording...?"
A shadow casted over Dream and Blue's face. They now knew what was going on here.
"THESE TWO KNOW TOO MUCH THANKS TO NIGHTMARE... WE CAN'T LET THE INFORMATION GET ACROSS."
Blue summoned a cage of blue bone attacks around Dust and Horror. Dust and Horror's eye's flared up in alarm.
Horror and Dust noticed Dream was gone. How did they not notice this before?
THWACK!
Dream re-appeared above the two unsuspecting skeletons, raising a thick, golden staff adorned with pink stars and radiant blue crystals over his head and whacked both over the head with his dangerous weapon.
Horror and Dust fell through the blue bones, crumpling to the ground. Both had gained a crack on their skulls.
Blue and Dream exchanged a high five, then picked up the limp forms of Horror and Dust.
"IS IT JUST US OR ARE THEY REALLY LIGHT?"
"I think it's all the weight lifting we did, Blue."
"YEAH, PROBABLY."
Without another word, Dream and Blue teleported back to the base. They would have to be careful, because now Nightmare would really be on their case.
Dream and Blue re-appeared in the living room.
"WE NEED TO GET INK IN HERE RIGHT NOW."
Dream nodded.
"I'll go get Ink, watch these two, okay?"
Blue saluted, and Dream teleported into the cell, where Ink was still with his tiny glitch.
"We need you upstairs immediately."
Dream said to Ink. Ink nodded, and turned to Error. Dream teleported back upstairs.
"I'll be back in a bit, okay?"
"tcH, wHaTevEr. It'D bE bEtTer iF yOu dIdN'T cOme bAcK."
Error huffed, crossing his arms.
Ink chuckled, patting Error on the skull as he teleported out of the room.
'...i dIdn'T wAnT hIm tO gO... nO, sHut uP! I dOn'T eNjOy hIs cOmpAnY. nOt. OnE. BIT!'
Error glared down at himself, curling up into a little glitching ball of anger.
'I wOnder wHat's gOinG oN wIth tHem. FoR iNk tO lEaVe mE lIke tHis, iT mUsT bE prEtTy sEriOus. BuT I dOn'T cArE.'
Error sighed, grabbing the 2x2 rubix cube. He mixed up the squares, and began trying to solve it. His mind kept wandering to Ink, and it pissed him off.
Meanwhile, with the Star Sanses...
"You found these two in Haventale?"
Asked Ink as he looked at the two unconscious skeletons on the couch.
"Yes, and they have a camera. It was recording, but we just turned it off. This camera is evidence for Nightmare. Because we teleported to the base and didn't use a portal, I doubt it'd be possible to see where our base is."
"AND, BECAUSE WE HAVE CAPTURED THESE TWO, WE NEED TO BE MORE CAREFUL. NIGHTMARE'S REALLY GONNA BE ON US NOW. WE MAY BE STRONGER THAN HIM AT THIS POINT, BUT REMEMBER, HE'S FULL OF DECIEVAL AND TRICKS. NOT TO MENTION, HE HAS A TENDENCY TO FORM TEMPORARY ALLIANCES WITH STRONG MONSTERS TO GET WHAT HE WANTS..."
Dream and Ink nodded.
"Okay, I'll go grab some magic restraints from Sci, in the meantime, you two watch over them. I'll be quick."
Ink portaled to Sci's laboratory.
Blue and Dream stood there, keeping their eyelights focused on the murderous duo.
"Things are about to get a lot more intense..."
Dream looked nervous.
"YEAH, BUT HEY, AT LEAST WE HAVE 3/6 TAKEN CARE OF! WE'RE HALFWAY THERE! AND ONCE WE HAVE ALL OF THEM... WELL, I DON'T KNOW WHAT COMES AFTER THAT. BUT WE'LL BE ABLE TO HAVE PEACE! ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, WE CAN DO THIS. I BELIEVE IN US. WE JUST NEED TO KEEP GOING."
Blue smiled warmly at Dream, and put a hand on his shoulder. Both of them were blushing as they stared into each other's eyelights.
They began to lean in, still maintaining eye contact. Blue leaned upwards, and Dream leaned down...
"Ugh my heaaddd..."
"Hrvshdjxjjdxjjd..."
"OH. OH SHIT."
"Blue-!"
Both looked at Horror and Dust, sighing.
'Were we really about to...?'
'UGH... I WAS FINALLY ABOUT TO KISS HIM!!! SCREW THESE IDIOTS!!!'
Blue screamed inside his head.
Dust and Horror sat up, massaging their skulls.
Dream trapped the two inside a yellow bubble, so that no chaos would ensue.
Both Horror and Dust took notice of this. Horror curled into Dust, who pulled him closer protectively. Dust and Horror scooted in the back wall of the bubble.
Dust seemed to growl something at Dream and Blue, but they couldn't hear him.
"WHAT'D HE SAY?"
"I think it was a threat."
"AH. I DON'T FEEL VERY THREATENED..."
"Oh, I wonder why."
Then, a rainbow portal ripped through the air revealing Ink holding a bag.
"I'm back- oh, I see they're awake..."
Ink looked at Horror and Dust, who were looking around frantically. Horror was curled into Dust's chest, with Dust holding him protectively.
"So, what do we do now? They woke up sooner than we thought..."
"WE COULD ALWAYS KNOCK THEM OUT AGAIN."
"Hm... well, one way or another these magic restraints need to go on them. And, we'll be needing another cell... hm."
All three went silent. Meanwhile, inside the bubble...
"I don't like this, Dust... what if they try and turn us into non-murdery happy dudes?!"
Horror cried, clinging onto Dust.
Dust looked down at Horror, and gave him a gentle look, but couldn't cover the fear on his face.
"It's gonna be okay. I won't let them hurt you. Or do... that."
Dust whispered to Horror, their eyelight/ eyelights locking together.
Dust then glared at the Star Sanses, eyelights flaring angrily. They were talking, but he couldn't hear them. It made him a lot more nervous. He then summoned a sharp bone and tried cracking the bubble, Horror still clinging to him. The bubble didn't budge.
Dust cursed, and tried two sharp bones at once. Nothing happened.
Then Horror let go of Dust, and pulled out an emergency axe he kept in his ribcage. He hacked away at the bubble, which was not cracking or taking any damage whatsoever.
He growled, putting it back inside his ribcage.
The Star Sanses were observing the two, before Dream perked up. Dust and Horror didn't like the look of that.
"I know! I can create a strong relaxation mist inside the bubble, this way they won't be much trouble."
The others agreed, and so Dream did it.
Later...
The Star Sanses had successfully gotten Dust and Horror into a cell, which was also in the basement, but directly below Dream and Blue's rooms. They also removed Horror's emergency axe, and put the magic restraints on them. Weirdly enough, they didn't get a collar like Error did. Ink assumed it was because Error was much more powerful than them, and so he had a lot more magic. Sci was just weird sometimes.
Horror and Dust were sharing a cell, both sitting on the ground, wanting to go home, but at the same time wanting to stay here. They wanted to know what the Star Sanses wanted with them. Then again, they'd rather be at home, awaiting their next mission or doing chores.
"Horror I'm bored."
Dust muttered, laying on his back.
"Me too."
Horror replied, looking down at Dust from where he sat beside said dusty skeleton. Dust and Horror both sighed. Then, nervousness overtook them. The Star's could do anything to them like this.
"H-hey Horror, you don't think they'd do anything... bad to us, right...?"
The dusty skeleton asked the cannibal.
Horror went silent for a moment.
"No, I don't think they'd do anything too bad to us... after all, they're just interested in justice, not harming others. They're too goody-goody to actually hurt anyone, even if they're "evil" like us."
Horror assured Dust, who sighed in relief.
"That's good. Thanks, Horror."
Horror smiled down at Dust warmly.
"No problem."
