Chapter 15

??? pov

I trudge down the hallway, dragging my feet with each step.

Boss hasn't been in a good mood lately. He's been a little more violent...

I eventually reach the door. Dreading what comes next, I inhale and exhale to prepare myself.

A bead of sweat rolls down my skull as I knock at the door.

What feels like 10 minutes later, he speaks.

"Come in, Horror..."

Even though he specifically called me here... he's always able to tell who it is just from a simple knock... it scares me.

I push the rusted, golden handle open and enter the room.

I close the large door behind myself, and straighten my posture as I stand before him.

"You're standing so far... come a little closer..."

I gulp. That's never a good sign...

I take a few steps towards him.

"Ah, better."

I nod shakily.

"Do you know why I called you here?"

I shake my head no.

"USE YOUR WORDS."

I jump a little. His smirk seems to grow by my reaction.

"N-No boss, I don't know why you called me here..."

"I see. Well, I came to ask you of a favour. I want you to take a camera, and put it around your neck, but make sure it's recording. Then, I want you to try and find The Star Sanses' base. I would recommend checking the more... positive worlds."

Nightmare visibly cringes.

"If you come across Ink, or any of his friends, run. I've heard they got... a little upgrade. Is that clear to you?"

"Yes, boss."

"Good. Now, run along."

He shoos me out. I push the door open, and scurry out. The door closes behind me, and I sigh in relief. I walk back down the hallway. I soon make it to the living room.

"Hey, does anyone have a camera?"

I ask Dust and Killer, who are sitting on the couch.

"Nope."

Killer responds lazily.

I turn to Dust.

"Do you have one?"

He turns to the side, talking to thin air, well at least that's how it looks to me and everyone else. Dust is actually talking to his ghost brother.

"Yeah, I think I do. Come with me."

Dust grabs my hand, and we teleport into his room.

He rummages through a drawer, and pulls out a worn camera.

"Will this do?"

He asks me.

"If it can record, yes."

"Well, I think you're in luck! It's a little laggy, but still works."

He hands the camera to me, and I examine it.

"Thanks! I'll be on my way now-"

"Wait!"

Dust grabs my hand again. It sends tingles up my arm.

"Where are you even going?"

He asks me, still holding my hand.

"The boss wants me to try and find the Star idiots base."

I reply.

"Ohhh... can I come?"

"Hmm... I mean, sure... as long as it doesn't get you in trouble. Oh, and by the way... why do you have this camera anyway?"

Dust fiddles with his sleeves, before muttering "327" to himself. He does that when he gets nervous.

He then replies.

"Back in my world, Alphys hid cameras everywhere. So, I took a camera from her after I killed everyone as a memory of everyone who was once alive. There is live recording of a lot of things, and a selfie I took before... well, yeah.
So, I kept it here to remind me of the people I once loved. I still... look at it some times, and remember... but uhh, anyway, please take really good care of it while we're out, okay? If anything happened to it..."

His eyelights went dark. I pat him on the shoulder.

"Don't worry, I'll keep it safe! Now let's go, okay? Everything will be fine!"

I give him a reassuring smile, and his cheeks turn the slightest shade of purple.

"Okay... let's go then."

I grab a teleportation device from my pocket, and hold Dusts hand. I push the button, and our surroundings begin to blur.

Ink's pov

1.

I turn the handle.
I really should've just knocked, but it's too late now...

I open the door.

Dream and Blue are cuddled up in Dream's bed, the covers over them both. Dream and Blue are reading a book together, and Blue is snuggled into Dream's chest and shoulder, and Dream's arm is wrapped around Blue.

"Sorry to interrupt, but I wanted to discuss something important."

Dream put down his book, and Blue seemed to pout slightly.

"Yes? What is it?"

They both looked at me. Blue noticed Dream's circlet was crooked, so he fixed it.

"So, I decided to let Error's arms free as long as he doesn't attack anyone. But the thing is, besides from attacking there are... other things I know that he might do, and leaving him alone for too long results in his Autophobia acting up. And we all have things to do. I have AU's to monitor, Dream, you have positivity to make, and Blue, you like helping Dream, you monitor AU's too and you have a lazy brother to tend to. So, as you can tell, we're not always available. That means we need to think of a schedule where we take turns watching Error. You don't always have to be inside the cell, you can watch him through the security camera.

But anyway, any ideas on how this can work?"

Both seemed to take in the information, and think about what we can do.

"OKAY, SO AT WHAT TIME DO YOU GENERALLY MONITOR THE AU'S?"

Blue questions.

"I usually wake up at 9:40 a.m, and start monitoring the AU's by about 10:45-11:00 am. I return at 1:00-2:00 p.m."

"I GET UP AT 6:30 A.M, AND I LEAVE AT 7:20 A.M TO CHECK UP ON MAINLY POSITIVE AU'S, THEN I SAY HELLO TO PAPYRUS AND STAY IN MY AU UNTIL 10:00 A.M"

"I get up at 8:00 a.m, and don't leave until 11:00 a.m. Then I spread positivity, and try and resolve any strongly negative sources until 3:30 p.m."

"Okay, so Blue, you wake up the earliest, but you leave almost right away. Dream, I think you would go first for watching Error. So, from 8-11 a.m can you keep an eye on Error?"

"Yeah, I can do that!"

"Great! Next, Blue, you can watch him. Since you'll be home at 10 a.m, it'll give Dream time to get ready. And then, from 11 a.m to 2 p.m you can switch off from Dream and watch over Error."

"SOUNDS GOOD!"

"Great! And lastly, from 2-5 p.m I will take over. However, we need an evening schedule..."

"I check up on a few AU's at around 7:00 p.m"

"AND I GO HOME AT 6:00 p.m TO MAKE TACOS FOR PAPS. I COME BACK AT 8:30 P.M."

"I could watch over him for most of the evening. Dream, could you watch over him for maybe 1 hour?"

"Yeah, I can do that!"

"Great, thanks! Then after that, I will take over, and then Blue, can you take over for just an hour?"

"YUP!"

"Thanks guys!"

"YOU'RE WELCOME! NOW LEAVE."

"Oop- mmmmmmm'kay-"

Thwack

"I'M GOING I'M GOING ;-;"

I quickly run out the door, slamming it behind me.

Damn...

That flip flop hurt.

Welp, time to go check up on my small, angry glitch!

I walk down (1234 wordsssss) the stairs, and then go down the next set of stairs. I begin to unlock all the locks on the metal door.

I open the door, and I see Error on his ribs, half crawling- half slithering out the entrance.

"Snrk- what are you doing-?"

Error slithers through my legs, and props his upper body up against the first step on the stairwell.

"eScApInG!"

I chuckle.

"Oh no, whatever shall I do~?"

I joke as I watch him struggle to pull himself up the steps.

I then scoop him into my arms.

"noOooOoOO!"

"Yeeeesssss"

He glitches up. Hmmm, his haphephobia is still present but that's okay, it takes time.

I boop him. He blinks in surprise.

I carry him back into the room as he slaps and swats at my face in a cat-like manner, and makes weird noises of protest. Little weirdo.

I set him down on the bed, and quickly close and lock the door before he can make it there.

He pouts. Gosh, he's so cute...

"Sooooo, what'd you do while I was gone?"

I ask, giving him a friendly smile.

"i tRiEd tO sOlvE tHe rUbIx cUbE, bUuUut..."

I look at the remains of the rubix cube in front of the wall. Pieces were scattered. It was a colourful mess.

"iT wAs tOo hARd."

(Bruh, I can't solve one either- well in my defence, I just tried yesterday and I'm SO DAMN CLOSE TO SOLVING IT-)

"..."

Dumb manchild.

(Didn't you just fanboy over how cute he was a few moments ago-?)

"That's fine, I can just make you a new one."

He shrugs.

I quickly create another rubix cube, but this one is 2x2.

"Better?"

"...iT sTiLl lOoKs hARd, bUt iT'S bEttEr, yEs. i'M a gEniUs, i cAn sOlVe tHis oBviOusLy."

I resist the urge to roll my eyes, laugh and give a sarcastic comment. I don't want to hurt the tiny bean's feelings. Or make him pissed off at me again. That probably wouldn't be good for his mental stability, or my face.

He takes it into his hands, and turns some of the pieces.

He frowns, and seems heavily concentrated.

I sit down beside him on the bed.

"Need help?"

"nO."

He doesn't even look up at me.

"Alright, let me know if you need help!"

He stays silent.

After a few minutes, he gets one side completely blue.

His eyes light up and he smiles a smile that seems to light up the entire room.

...adorable fucking dumbass manchild.

Ten minutes later, he solves it.

"ŸEEESŠSSŠ!!!!"

He screams, pumping his fists in the air, as the cube goes flying through the air...

I catch it just in time before it meets its fate like the previous cube.

"...tHankS"

He has an awkward expression on his face.

I smile and put it beside us on the bed.

"You're welcome."

His cheeks gain a yellow hue, before he whips his head away, scowling.

"jUsT bEcAuSe I sAiD tHanKs dIeSn'T mEaN yOu hAvE tO bE aLl sMuG lIke ThaT!"

Pshh. So he's flustered. He begins to fiddle with his sleeves.

"Heheh alright alright."

I wave my hands in surrender.

Blue's pov

After Ink left the room, Dream picked the book up and resumed reading it with me.

But we quickly got bored.

"WANNA SEE WHAT INK AND ERROR ARE UP TO?"

I ask with a smirk, looking up at Dream.

Dream looks down at me, giggling.

"You sly little berry, you~"

I then feel Dream kiss the top of my skull, and my cheeks heat up, but I still smile.

Dream pulls out his phone, puts in his passcode and goes into the security camera app.

We then are able to see what's going on in there.

We witness Ink walking over to Error, and sitting next to him on the bed.

We can't hear them very well, but we can see pretty well.

Ink turns his head to a mismatch of coloured cubes all over the floor beside the wall. He looks very unimpressed.

Ink closes his eyes, then reopens them and says something to Error, to which Error just shrugs in response.

Ink then begins to create... a 2x2 rubix cube. He hands it to Error, and Error stares at it. Error then puffs his chest out, a cocky expression on his face.

Ink looks like he's holding in a laugh. Error starts turning some of the pieces, his face scrunched into concentration.

A few minutes later, Error begins to seem a little frustrated.

Ink says something to Error, but Error doesn't seem to acknowledge it.

Time passes, and Error manages to make one side of the cube completely blue.

"OOH, HE'S SO CLOSE!"

"Hey Blue, it looks like your face when you get flustered~"

"NO. SHUT UP. WE DON'T SPEAK OF THAT."

I huff, crossing my arms. Dream giggles and rubs the top of my skull, and I can't help but smile and melt into his touch.

We then go back to watching Ink and Error.

A little while passes, and then Error solves the cube. He pumps his fists in the air, and the cube goes flying... Ink shoots off the bed, catching it in one hand.

Error looks surprised. Wow, that could've gone horribly wrong, but thanks to Ink it didn't.

Error seems to have a small yellow tint on his cheeks.

Ink smiles, and sits next to Error, setting the cube down. Error then turns his head the other way, crossing his arms sassily.

Ink waves his hands up, still smiling but awkwardly. A small rainbow tint is visible on his cheeks.

"Awww, they're blushing!"

Dream cooes.

"THAT'S ADORABLE~"

Dream goes silent. His face goes blank.

"UH- DREAM-?"

"Haventale is under attack, I feel negativity from there."

"CRAP, WE SHOULD GO CHECK IT OUT!"

We both get out of bed, not bothering to fix the sheets.

Dream sends Ink a text, and then opens a portal for the two of us.

We both jump in quickly, and the world blurs into a gold, shimmering mess.
