Chapter 4

So the next day I got ready for school. Man thank God it's Friday I have so many plans for the weekend. I Get to school and the teacher tells me I have to sit by Judy now. Oh brother just great, this is probably going to be the pattern for all my classes I beat..

"Hi there stud, how many women have you crushed today by ignoring them" she smirks. Oh God Kill me know is she going to be torturing me all day. Just then this girl who's been flirting with me all semester comes by me.

"Hi Leo want to go to the movies with me this weekend?" I look up at her the hear Judy say "sorry but Leo will be with me every weekend and almost every evening so get lost." Then she flicks her hand in the air dismissing her. She glares at Judy the smiles at me and I'm forced to say "sorry babe maybe another time."

So the rest of the day is about the same. Crap it bites more since we have all the same classes, there's no dodging this chick. Thank God she doesn't eat with us during lunch. I sit with Luis and complain about Judy "Man this girl is hounding me I don't think I can take a whole month of this. I mean she's not even hot looking . Yea she kind of pretty but you know not hot like ."

As I rant and rave I see Luis's face go weird and his eyes get buggy. What the hell's wrong with him. Oh no then it hits me and I slowly turn around mid sentence and see Casey with Judy standing behind me.

They both glare at me and walk off. "Thanks a lot Bro" I say as I shake my head. "You made me look like a total Jerk.

"Ah no sorry you where doing a good job of that yourself you didn't need my help." I punch him in the arm and head out to find Judy and do some damage control.

Judy's POV

I knew I shouldn't have cared, maybe he's a lost cause already. There is no need for me to be putting up with his insults. I mean I'm the one that has to take time out of my day to help him. This sucks.

"You know it's not true, you are really good looking you just dress more conservative." Casey says trying to make me feel better. I know I don't have big breasts like Lucy or a curvy body like Casey but I'm built ok. Just that I cover it that's all.

"Hey can I talk to you" Leo says from behind me. Man I was so lost in my thoughts I didn't hear him.

"No I don't want to talk to you right now" I wave him away with my hand.

"I'm sorry."

I turn to him "I am here to help you don't sweat it" and I walk away. Thank goodness we only had two more classes left to go.

Good I'm so happy this school day is over the last to classes followed the same pattern as the other classes. Girls would come on to him and I would scare them off.

Today I wanted to give him a fighting chance by scaring the girls off. Next week he's on his own. If he flirts in front of me the deals off.

Before I leave I tell him. "We'll start tutoring tomorrow. I'll be at your house at 12 in the afternoon. I think I did a lot for you today just scaring of your groupies." I wave at him and go home.

When I get there Mike is sitting in the dinning room with my dad and some other guy.

"Hey Judy this is Frank Palmer the guy I was telling you about who is interested in your land. I look him up and down hmm there's some thing familiar about him but I don't know what it is. I extend my hand and he shakes it.

"Have you even seen it?" He shakes his head no "That's why I'm here to check it out."

Just then there's a nock at the door. I go and check who it is and standing there is Casey, Lucy and Hope. "Hey everyone what brings you around my neck of the woods?"

Casey smiles "Mike told me he was bringing Frank over and I'm just nosey."

Lucy frowns " Casey told me what Leo said and I came for a make over."

"What?" I look at her and she shrugs "It's not like you need it, I just want Leo to have to eat his works and honey you have to admit you do need one.

I looked down at my feet I know she mean well but why can't they understand that I don't like Leo in that way.

"What's going on are you dating Leo?" Mr. Palmer asked.

I turn to look at him, why would he care and why is he looking at me like that.

"No I'm not and I don't want to either" I say to him.

"Aww come on cookie I think it's time you let the memory of your soldier go and start dating again." I glare at my father "stop right there not another word from you." I point my finger at him and walk to the door.

"I turn back you coming or what?" They where all standing there looking a little stunned.

"We're coming" Mr. Palmer beamed at me as he walked towards me. Man he must really want that land.

"Where are you going ?" I look at Lucy "Mr. Palmer wants to by a patch of our land and I'm going to show him."

"Oh can we go?" Casey asked , Mike shook his head "What about Hope?"

Dad said " You guys go ahead you won't be long so I'll take care of the young Miss Hope here. I have to practice for when my Judy gives me grand kids."

I roll my eyes I mumble to myself "hope springs eternal old man."

So we ride out to my patch of land and I show them where the borders are and tell them exactly how many acres there are. I saw the land the same way when I first got it for us.

I was in such a trance explaining where I wanted to build our house and how I wanted it designed. Where I wanted the barn and the corals. I didn't even notice I was talking and voicing out loud all my ideas.

All my ideas for what could have been. I held back a sob that threatened to escape. No matter how much time passes I can't help but feel like he's really not gone.

Mr. Palmer who insisted I call him Frank must have sensed my distress because he turned to Casey and Lucy and asked "so what did Leo say?"

So Lucy and Casey go about telling them what Leo said at lunch.

I just shook my head "I told you I don't care what he thinks."

We headed back home and I went to the Diner for my shift.

The next day I rode ou to the Codey ranch, I dressed like I always dress Jeans , Long sleeve shirt and my boots. Since I was riding out there I but on some chaps and put my hair up in a pony tail. I only applied light make up I don't really fuss with myself plus it's only Leo I'm going to see.

I rode hard and pushed my horse. I love to feel the wind in my hair so I pulled the band holding my hair up. It was really hot and sunny so I pulled the rein and made the horse slow to a trot. Then I opened my shirt and tied a knot at the bottom.

I had a sports bra on since I don't really have a lot of chest. Man maybe I shouldn't have ridden her I think as I reach the Cody ranch. See I always wear loss clothing but when I ride our ranch my jeans are tighter so are my work shirts. Know one has ever seen me wearing tight cloths.

I reached the ranch and tie my horse by the barn door. Man now I'm all sweaty so I pull my hair up with one hand thinking of putting it back into a pony tail. I close my eyes and enjoy the breeze, it swirls my hair so I reach my free hand to some hair tickling my throat when I hear a gasp and some grunting noises.

Holly crap I think and not really wanting to open my eyes. I turn to the noise that came from inside the barn and there stood Mike, Frank, Luis and Leo staring at me.

I glare "what."

There faces turn red and Luis broke the silence " Dayum you look hot" and they all node.

I scowl "stop making fun of me, You ready" I glare at Leo.

Who only nods yes and walks toward me.
