Chapter 12

The environment feels different.

It's awkward....

Not even awkward, far beyond that. It's that type of awkward that fills the atmosphere with so much intensity that you can't even move around the room without wanting the Earth to swallow you up, making things even more awkward than it already is.

And Hoseok is growing uncomfortable by the second.

They're off to a different motel but this time the usual neutral atmosphere feels like... This.

Especially since theres a new person in the room.

All eyes remain on the girl that's sitting on the floor, candle in front of her with eyes closed and legs crossed. She's a young girl, probably around her early twenties. She just came out of no where after the raid and sat down on the floor with her candle, no one knows why. Especially since she didn't even speak, no matter when they asked her.

She is stone still.

And it's driving Hoseok insane.

He glances at Yoongi, who's flickering with a lighter on his hand, staring boredly at the girl. Hoseok leans to Yoongi's side, "Why is she still here?"

Yoongi only glances at Hoseok and moves his eyes back to the girl, "I don't know."

Hoseok lips fall to a frown and he sits up straight, unsure on what to do this very moment. That is until Seokjin lets out a loud groan and rises to his feet, "Who the hell are you and why are you here?!"

The girls body tensed up and she slowly cranes her head to look at Seokjin, "I'm joining you guys on your quest."

Everyone blinks.

What?

When was this even decided!

Namjoon must've read Hoseok's mind because he only sends the girl a kind smile, "Listen, you are not going to be joining us. We will reach you when you are needed but as for now, you stay in your lane."

She squints her pink eyes to Namjoon, "And why is that? Is it because I'm a girl?"

Woah that was a leap.

Namjoon fiercely shakes his head, "What? No-"

"Then why not?" She presses on with her stare shifting to a glare.

"I can name a few reasons," Taehyung announces with a grim look on his face, "You are not an original witch, just given magic from family when you were five maybe, so you were originally a mortal, meaning you are just a newborn still and weak. Next, what we do is too dangerous to involve other people we don't trust and lastly you're not even here for a good cause," He glances at Jungkook, "You're here because you're attracted to him."

Jimin fights off a snort to this while Jungkook's cheeks flushed red.

Wow this escalated quickly.

She gaps at Taehyung with now glowing green eyes, "I'm not-"

"Are you really going to lie to me? If you are than Jungkook can just condemn you to hell for lying as an approach to fool others, which is a sin," He states while leaning back on the bed from the floor, a smug smirk on his face.

The girl glares at him and rises to her feet, "For your information I also have family trapped in these facilities and I want to help them escape! Since you're going to facilities than I want to come too."

"No," Yoongi states bluntly and rises to his feet, "And get out. I'm already getting annoyed by your presence here."

She stomps her foot down with arms crossed on her chest, "I'm not leaving."

"Oh," Hoseok says with eyebrows raised, "Is that so?"

She nods surely, eyes settling to Jungkook.

This is beyond frustrating.

So Namjoon reaches over to Jungkook, whispers something to his ear that caused the angel to sigh heavily and eye the girl for a moment before rising to his feet from the bed and approaches her. She stares at him with wide eyes and takes a few steps back but Jungkook only flashed his glowing eyes to her and she stood still.

Everyone watches intently as the girl watches in awe to Jungkook's warm smile as he stares into her eyes, "What's your name darling?"

She licks her liips, "E-Eva."

"Eva," He hums, leaning closer to her face, "Almost like Eve right?"

Eva nods slowly, clearly mesmorized by Jungkook's appearance.

Suddenly he grabs both of her hands and that caused her to inhale a sharp breath, practically melting on the spot from his aura.

Jungkook sighs with his kind smile, "You're a strong girl. Study magic since you were given it as a child, very hard working. Although you believe you are ready, you still have a lot to learn and need to be safe," He tells her gently, carreesing his thumb against her knuckles, "However if you'd like to help, I have one job for you."

The girl gulps and nods sharply, "Yes?"

"Gather as much witches as you can. Practice, grow stronger together, be brave. I'll be back soon and we all will be reunited, even your family, but I don't want you to get hurt while you're with us because it will hurt me to know that I couldn't save you," His words lingers in the air and he frowns, "Can you try to be safe for me? No risky stuff, not until you're stronger, okay?"

Eva blinks at him and averts her gaze to the ground. She ponders his words for a few more minutes before slowly nodding, "Okay... I will."

Jungkook places his hands on her shoulders, causing her to look up to his beaming smile, "Thank you darling."

And with that she sends all of them a bow and left.

It was silent.

Everyone processing what Jungkook just did.

What just happened?

Hoseok stares at the young angel, watching as his hair changes back to black with his eyes diming back to his natural grey color. He stares at the door before slowly moving back to his spot on the bed, legs to his chest and long arms wrapped around them, "We need to keep moving. There's no time.... People are suffering, from both sides."

Never in a life time did Hoseok expect something like that to escape Jungkook's mouth. He expected anything, anything but that.

"What's the sudden change?" Namjoon asks him, clearly confused as well.

Jungkook's gaze remains on the rugged floor in front of him, "I never have seen so many species... Happy... Relieved with each other; Relieved to have escaped.... It reminds me of when we escaped," A small smile escapes his lips, "It's funny to think it's been a month already since that day, and I never expected anyone of us to get along as well as some of us do.. I don't know.... Something about that day that we helped them all escape really changed my perspective. We need-No, we deserve rights too, not just the mortals."

Hoseok couldn't fight the smile off his face as he gets up and sits beside Jungkook, wrapping him in a side hug, "Well look at who finally decided to wake up."

The younger man sends him a wide smile and leans his head against his shoulder, "I have you guys to thank for that. I would've never realized how corrupted our world is now, on the mortals own according, if it wasn't for you guys"

It feels an accomplishment to finally get Jungkook's approval to have him aboard to this. Now that he thinks like this, Hoseok is determined to not let him down. Now thinking about it.... Hoseok doesn't want to let any one of them down. The bond he has formed with each of them individually is nothing he has shared with his cupid friends before. This feel different.

It's a nice welcoming feeling.

Despite them being all different, they are all the same.

Namjoon stands in the middle of the room with arms behind his back, facing them with a more gentle look, "After what happened that day, I really want you guys input on what you thought about it?"

Hoseok didn't really know what to say, he felt so many emotions. He thought so many things an what ifs but once it came down.... He felt so much in power yet he felt free. Seeing so many of his kind, happy and relieved.... He felt proud of himself.

He wanted to do more.

"It definitely changed my perspective on what to do," Yoongi says lowly, staring at the fire from the lighter, "I saw some werewolves from other packs, and they knew me. They thanked me.... Shit, they bowed down to me when I approached them," He whispers, the thought as clear as day as he looks back to it. He earned their respect and he vowed to be their best inspiration. He blinks once the fire went out and looks up at Namjoon, "I need to help my kind escape."

Hoseok watches in awe at the determination that spread Yoongi's features and couldn't help but speak up as well, "I'm with Yoongi on that."

All eyes fall to him, waiting to hear him speak. He sends them a nervous smile and stares at the wall, "I know cupids have a lovely reputation to cause trouble; in love and hate. Despite us being the kind to show happiness or mischebious attitudes, I've never seen..... A group of cupids so.. truly happy," He says, feeling a weight on his chest at the thought of their dazing smiles, "Us cupids aren't truly happy on the inside... Watching people love one another yet being unable to love ourselves. Make people hate each other yet we can't hate anyone.... We're just stuck in the middle," The words he says lingers in the air and he licks his lips to the cold hard truth. He moves his eyes to study each of the boys to see them staring at him intently but different. As if he's glowing with a new light.

Once again he smile, "This feels different.... I know this change we are going to make... It's going to be worth it."

The appreciation look Namjoon sends him sent a warmth inside his chest and he couldn't help but feel like he's done something right.

He's done something good for sue.

"If I'm honest I don't trust my kind enough to behave," Seokjin drags on with a sarcastic snort, "They love to be bad and sometimes our hunger gets the best of us," His smirk suddenly drops and he fiddles with his hands, "Yet they stared at me... As If I was some... Prize to them... No one ever look at me that way besides as a monster," The last part caused more of a weight to hang in the air and Hoseok couldn't relate more to it. All his life he was labeled as love monster by other species. He knew nothing more than that.

For the first time since they've escaped, tears beamed Jin's eyes.

Jin isn't usually sentimental at all. Everyone one here has at least shed a tear once except for Jin, since he's always been the one to comfort and hold his walls p.

Right before their eyes, Jin turned vulnerable.

He sniffs and looks up at Namjoon, "You showed me that I had so much potential.... Thank you for that."

The tears streamed down his face and Jimin raised to his feet and approaches the elder, wrapping his arms around Jin's neck from behind and rests his cheek against the crown of his head, his hands wiping away the tears, "You have so much potential Jin," Jimin says softly, clearly feeling it in his chest the amount of affection he has developed for the vampire.

Jin weakly smiles and places his hand on Jimin's wrists and brings them down, carreesing his knuckles, "I appreciate it Jiminie."

Jimin smiles and looks up at Namjoon, "I feel content with myself. I feel like I performed well in the building and they listened to me. Honestly I thought going back to the facility would traumatize me, I thought everyone was going to walk over me," he tells them, his smile faltering slightly, "I felt so much in control when they listened to me.... And the whole floor I guided thanked me over and over again after Namjoon's speech. It felt... right."

Hoseok is mesmorized by Jimin's affection towards Jin, and Jin letting him comfort him. Throughout the time, Jimin has been a shell that took time to crack. Hoseok has grown closer to the young siren and found out how much of an affectionate person he is, that's why he's so keen on protecting him at all cost.

No one shows any physical affection here, except for Jimin to Hoseok.

Now that Jimin is showing that Jin, Hoseok feels glad the siren is expressing himself more on how he feels on the inside.

Suddenly all eyes falls to Taehyung but he's dozed off with eyes against the wall, until Jimin slightly kicks his back. He blinks and looks around, "What? Oh me?"

Hoseok smiles.

Cute little baby.

He nervously licks his lips and crossed his fingers together, "Even though everyone appeared happy and dandy, I got the nice privellege to think into the minds of many of them. All they thought of was about revenge," He says with a slight snicker and a shake of his head, "How cute. However, a great majority of their minds soon filled with hope after Namjoon's speech. I never believed in all of this what we were doing to begin with. I didn't think people were ever capable of doing any good," Discreetly he glances at Jungkook to see the angel already staring at him, eyes dark but he's listening.

Taehyung sighs and runs a hand through his hair, "You guys have the hope that I don't.... But I'm slowly starting to feel it. That hope of change. Maybe this won't work, maybe it will... But one thing I do know is that I won't allow anyone to disrespect us and make you guys lose that hope on what you guys feel..... No matter who it is," His tone grew dark but his words appeared much more compassionate than he wanted.

Well, no one expected those words to escape his lips. That's when Hoseok realized that Taehyung is actually starting to care about them. The thought sends a warm feeling in his chest.

Jungkook rolls his eyes and stands to his feet, "As if you can feel hope," He mutters and walks away to the bathroom, closing the door shut behind him.

The environment grew awkward once again but Namjoon didn't let it linger for too long, "You need to talk to Jungkook."

Taehyung glares at him with gapped lips and furrowed eyebrows, "Talk to him? I tried but he's being a little brat-"

"Tae," Yoongi interjects with a bored tone, "You fucked up, how do you expect of him to react?"

Taehyung groans and digs his fingers to his temple, "You and Jimin were there too! Why isn't he giving you guys a bitchy attitude?"

"Because we apologized Tae," Jimin sighs with his soft voice, arms still around Jin, "Did you bother even apologizing?"

He stares at Jimin and rolls his eyes, "I don't need to because I don't regret what I did!"

"But it means something to Jungkookie and what we need now is for everyone to remain united," Hoseok pitches in, causing Taehyung to send an annoyed glance to him.

Soon enough Taehyung's face scrunches up in anger and he stands up, "I'm not saying anything. If he wants to continue being a stubborn little bitch than I'm let him. When he decides that he wants to hear me out, he knows where to find me," He sneers and approaches the front door and exits out, slamming the door shut behind him.

Jimin sighs heavily with closed eyes as he untangles himself from his hold on Jin, "I'll go calm him down," He says while walking out the front door after him.

Yoongi suddenly turns to Jin with a pointed look, "Want to go out and train for a while?"

The look on Jin's face is obviously surprised but he slowly nods. The both obviously need to let off some steam from everything that's been going on. So they both leave with Namjoon behind them to make sure they don't slaughter each other. Hoseok throws himself to lay down on the bed with eyes closed. There can never really be a moment of peace can there?

Minutes turned to hours and Hoseok realized that Jungkook didn't come out of the bathroom yet. He rises from the bed and approaches the door, placing his ear and he could feel his heart tear in half when he hears sniffing on the other side.

He gently knocks on the door, "Kookie? You alright?"

No response.

Hoseok opens the door and felt his heart rip to pieces at Jungkook laying limply on the ground, curled to a ball with his hands on his face.

Sobbing.

"Kookie," Hoseok coes while approaching the small angel and places a hand on his shoulder, "What's the matter?"

The angel peers up at him through his fingers and wraps his arms around Hoseok's torso, crying heavily. Hoseok was clearly surprised by that action. Jungkook isn't the type for physical contact, at all. So he's either very upset or lost his mind.

Regardless of what it was, Hoseok didn't care. He just wanted the angel to stop crying. He places a slim hand on the angel's hair and begin to run his fingers through, not knowing another way to comfort him. Hoseok sits down on the floor, leaning his back against the bath tub with Jungkook's head on his lap, who wrapped his arms around Hoseok's leg with his back to him. The angel slowly stopped crying but his sniffles still echoes the small room as Hoseok runs his hand through his hair, still not saying anything.

"Why does he hate me to much?" Jungkook whimpers, wiping a tear away from his cheeks.

Well, Hoseok didn't not really expect that question.

"Who? Taehyung? He doesn't hate you Kookie..."

"Than why does he do everything to hurt me! I haven't done anything to him for him to come after my back and just..... Hurt me! He knows killing mortals is my weakness!" Jungkook cries, body shaking and his grip around Hoseok leg tightens.

The death grip of Jungkook's hands surged a pain around Hoseok's leg but he had to man up and swallow it down. Right now is not the time to go into his pain.

Jungkook's pain is what's important.

"I don't think Taehyung is trying to hurt you," Hoseok whisper, brushing a piece of Jungkook's hair behind his ear, "You guys are enemies, polar opposites. What's good for him is bad for you and what's good for you is bad for him."

Jungkook shakes his head while letting out a breathless sigh, "I cant stand him... He makes me feel so weak... So hopeless. He makes me feel like I can't protect or save anything... that I fail as an angel," he continues to cry with eyes squeezed shut, "I can't continue on like this Hoseok.... I'm creating the biggest mistake of my life by going hand to hand with him.... now I'm just suppose to do nothing while he goes out and kills people!?"

Hoseok shakes his head and moves his hand to Jungkook's shoulder, rubbing it gently with his hand, "Do your job Jungkook.... Get your shit together. Show Taehyung how strong you are..... But don't lose hope, just be patient and do your role. We all have to get along with each other somehow, you and Taehyung just need to find that.... Thing that clicks.

Jungkook shakes his head firmly, glaring at the door, "Never, not with that demon."

"Well you see, if you think that way than you will always end up hurt Kookie.... Don't fall for Taehyung darkness, you have to be your own light," Hoseok says, observing the way Jungkook's eyes flutters from the door and slowly loosen his grip on Hoseoks leg.

Embracing the silence.

____

His short legs couldn't keep up with the other man's fast strides, nearly tripping over his feet a few times until Taehyung finally stopped by an alleyway not far from the motel.

Jimin leans against the brick wall, catching his breath while Taehyung kicks over a trash can on the ground. Causing everything to scatter on the floor.

Why is he so mad?

"Fucking Jungkook! Always has to make me seem like the bad guy!" Taehyung's grumbles with a punch against the wall.

Jimin didn't say anything, more like couldn't. What can he say? 'You're wrong and Jungkook has no reason to be upset?' He does have every reason to be upset. Jimin remembers actually having to force Namjoon to take everyone out the motel discreetly just so him and Jungkook could be alone. And that angel was stubborn. He didn't want to listen to anything that came out of Jimin's mouth but after a while Jimin managed to crack through him and he ended up having to comfort a weeping Angel. That was the day Jimin saw from Jungkook's perspective. He was raised to be perfect and good. Now that he failed in helping the humans, he feels like he fails as a duty as an angel. So much pressure is on him to create peace in this cursed world. Jimin only wishes he could paint Jungkook a perfect world and keep him there where he would be happy.

Sadly that can't happen or isn't the case.

Taehyung needs to get his shit together before Jungkook actually ends up killing him in his sleep and Jimin knows Jungkook would do it if he's had enough.

So with all the strength Jimin could muster inside him, he grabs Taehyung from his forearms and pin him against the brick wall aggressively. The fallen angel lets out a strangle cry but Jimin slaps a hand over his mouth, a murderous glare stabbing Taehyung's wide eyes.

"Listen to me and listen good. I have been nothing but supportive over you and I'm not sure if we are friends or enemies but as a friend, you have to stop being so damn selfish!" The snarl that escaped Jimin's lips didn't even sound like him. It was a deep growl, almost inhuman, and that terrified Taehyung to see this new side of Jimin directed to him.

"Jungkook is an angel, meaning he's good. You're a fallen angel, meaning you're bad and all you know is how to cause bad, but you need to get ahold of yourself!" Jimin's teeth began to sharpen with every word and his scales began to appear on his face, "You and Jungkook will only aggravate the shit out of all of us if you guys continue this on going battle. At least try to manage yourself to not kill anyone unless we are on the battle field. Other than that, hold your killing instinct just for the time being you stubborn bastard!"

Roughly Jimin let's go of Taehyung's mouth and leans his face close to the startled man, eyeing him cautiously, "I'm telling you this as my friend..... You are my friend and so is Jungkook. You have to be considerate about how he feels just like he has to hold his shit together into not killing you whenever you do kill someone.... So stop acting like a whiny bitch and talk to him!"

Taehyung was left speechless. He could definitely tell Jimin was not having it, at all and he's mostly likely speaking for all of them, not just himself.

Jimin studies Taehyung's face carefully, searching his brown eyes for anything human, any sense of care or guilt.

He never found it.

Suddenly Taehyung's wyes grew red and with intense speed he spins them around and pins Jimin's wrist against the wall above his head. His force was definitely much stronger than how Jimin did it to him, causing Jimin's head to slam against the brick, a groan escaping his lips but soon a shriek when Taehyung's face got closer to his, red eyes glaring down at him.

"You think I haven't tried talking to him? You think I don't give a shit about all of this about what we doing? Look at this chain Jimin! I'm bound to Namjoon! To all of you! Even if I'm outside, I'm still a prisoner! I want to be free! You think I wouldn't do whatever it takes to get that? Yeah maybe I'm selfish. Maybe I did kill those men for my own pleasure or maybe it's because I felt the pain when they landed their hands on Jungkook," he seethes with a hint of rage behind his tone, "What nobody knows is that me and Jungkook are connected. I felt his pain.... I felt every hit and fuck! I hated it so bad!"

Taehyung shackles Jimin's wrist against the brick wall, causing the small man to wince in pain but Taehyung wasn't having it, "Even now I feel him sad.... He's crying. He's in so much pain and it drives me fucking insane that I caused that pain on him because it haunts me everywhere I go!" His tone began to raise, his eyes growing brighter and Jimin is actually terrified that Taehyung might actually end up killing him by accident.

"I'm a fallen angel, so close to a damn demon. I do bad, yes and I am very good at being bad. I'm selfish, lustful, envious, gluten, lazy, greedy, and angry. I'm the man they warn you about when you're curious about looking in your closet or walking alone by an alleyway," his face now only centimeters away from Jimin's terrified eyes, "I am evil, and I can't stop it from it clawing inside me. Can't stop the evil voices to kill when something bad happens."

Jimin didn't know what to say at this point. His throat is tied in knots and he feels like he's going to pass out at any second from Taehyung's intense gaze. A gun couldn't even reach the level of intimidation as Taehyung glaring eyes. Maybe Jimin should start hoping that he doesn't kill him, or beat him to leave his body to be killed by a hunter.

No, Taehyung wouldn't do that.... Right?

... Right!?

Taehyung's eyes suddenly darts down to Jimin's lips, letting it linger there, studying the nervous way Jimin is tugging his bottom lip with his teeth before moving his gaze back to Jimin's eyes, "You don't know how it's like to be me.... and I don't want you to either. You're too special for me to know the fucked up shit that goes through my head that tempts me to do things.... Bad things..... I'm a dangerous man, someone you shouldn't consider as a friend."

Jimin could feel his heart thump hard against his chest as he glances between Taehyung's lips and then back to his eyes, his nerves growing by the second to how close they are, "I'll take the risk. You're not alone Tae.... I'm right here.... I just want what's best for you, for all of you."

Taehyung's mouth sealed shut as he stares at Jimin's eyes, conflicted and hesitant before leaning his forehead to rest it against his. Jimin sighs in relief when Taehyung slowly lets go to Jimin's wrist but remains having his hands on either side of his head.

Jimin cracked through him.

"I don't know what to say to him... he won't forgive me... That's what frightens me the most, rejection," Taehyung whisper lowly with eyes closed.

With a small frown forming Jimin's lips, he raised a hand and places it at the back of Taehyung neck, running his fingers through his hair, "You hace to try. You have to be honest with him like how you were with me.... Don't give up hope Tae."

Taehyung didn't say anything, only letting Jimin's words sink in. Letting it linger in the air in the darkness of the night.
