Hello OwO!

So, today is 14/6 - Shadow birthday UwU 

Happy birthday to Shadow!! :D

For his birthday, I decided to write his backstory, His past. Or maybe Shadow angst too.

Shadow is one of my OCs. 

He's one of the main characters in this story and my Fav OC, that is why I see myself as Shadow. 

Shadow is me. But we are still different. My past is not like his, but some parts of it included mine too ^^

Anyways, Let's get to the main story:

+ The reason

Ever since Shadow was born, He's always alone. His parents died when he was very young.

At his parent's funeral, his relative decided to take care of him. For a simple reason, they wanted money.

Shadow Family is reputed to have a lot of money. When his parents died, everyone would want to adopt him. But the family is also known for its strange and spooky things. He could see the afterlife with his left eye. ( Also They say he's a curse) 

When his parents died, Shadow inherited an enormous fortune. But because of the rumors, no one wanted to adopt him. There was only one relative who accepted him because of his love of money. But they only raised him until he was old enough to receive the cash as stated in the will.

+ The life

Even so, Spending days with them are not happier than living alone. Abused. Shadow was mistreated by them every day.

To be honest, He rather living alone forever than live in this house.

That family has a daughter, who is Shadow's "Sister ''.  At least in this house, he can talk to her. She always stays with Shadow, Always cheers him up. And she was the only one Shadow trusted. 

True to rumors, his family was involved in spirituality. He saw souls, souls who could not escape but still cling to the world. His left eye after an "accident" was "blind ". Even so, what he saw did not disappear. Whenever something is horrible about to happen, his left eye ache. 

That is the same thing that happens that day.

+ Betrayed

Takaoka Aiko is the sister that died cause of "suicide" when Shadow was 7. She was the first person that betrayed him.

That night, Shadow's "blind" eye was aching like crazy. He immediately realizes that there is something horrible going to happen.

At the same time, his uncle was shouting, calling Aiko. Knowing something is going to happen to her, Shadow begs her to stay. Despite Shadow's pleas, she left the room and went to her father.

As a result, she lost her life.

" You lied to me. You said you will stay with me forever. "

                     - His scream echoed in the darkness -

+ New friends

A few months after, Shadow still broke. He didn't smile or show any other emotion than sadness. 

One day, while he was crying under the bridge. Hide from everything, escape from that house.

Suddenly, someone touches his shoulder. Startled, he looked up and saw a boy about six years old looking at him worriedly and a person about his age standing behind him. Both were dressed in rags, moreover. Somehow, both of them appeared pale.

-Hey, are you okay? - the younger boy asks him

After a talk, Shadow knows that they are brothers - the Kimizuki brothers. They don't have a family. They live under this bridge for almost one year now.

The younger one is Hayashi, and the older one is Akuma. They are both Half-human, half-demon. But Akuma is more inclined towards demons, and Hayashi is the opposite. Very few people see Akuma, including Shadow.

( You might ask why is Shadow so calm with this and How can he believe them? Shadow sees all kinds of strange things. He even saw a human- tiger. He's good to deal with all of this '-' )

Even since Shadow goes there every day after school, So he can bring food, and clothes and talk with Akuma. They are BFFs, they're very close to each other. 

There was one time, Shadow goes to Akuma's place but his face was all cover-up with bruises. Still, Shadow put on a smile. Akuma was shocked, he immediately helps Shadow fix up the mess on his face.  

It's continued for one month and Akuma has enough.

- "Shadow, why are you keep on getting hurt!?

-"It's fine Akuma" 

-"No, It's not! Stop getting yourself bullied! It's not good for you!"

-" It's fine, Akuma. Believe me" - Shadow smiles again

"Stop Fucking smiling!! I hate your fake smile!!!" - Akuma shouted

-"Don't show me that ever again. If you are hurt don't you dare put on a fucking smile! You think that makes me less worried? IT'S JUST PISSING ME OFF!"  

-"S-sorry" - Shadow apologizes to his BFF (his only friend at the time). He doesn't know that It's pissed off Akuma

-"I don't like your fake smile, Shadow." - Akuma said calmly

- "With me here, don't even try to fake your smile" - Akuma puts his hand on his friend's shoulder and smiled comfortingly.

After that, they got closer than ever. Akuma always protects Shadow from his bully. Akuma can't go to school, Shadow sometimes taught him and give him homework since Akuma wanted to study. They promise each other to never lie and never betrayed the other. 

Just like that for three years. They stick with each other for 3 years. Until Shadow is 10 years old.

+ Left alone

One day, Shadow came but can't see anyone. The brothers' hut was also in ruin; not even a person was there.

Days by days, he goes there every day, but they're still no one. Soon, Shadow knows they have left him.

" You left me , Akuma Kimizuki "

Tears run down Shadow's face. He clenched his teeth and clenched his fists, trying to hold back the tears.

"You lied to me again, Akuma " - Shadow said in pain. Again, he was left behind. He was deceived again.

+ Bottle of medicine

Months later, Shadow starts to change. He doesn't talk or show any emotions. He already lost most of them when Aiko died.

He's always tired and needed sleep.

At school, He didn't care about the bullies anymore. They can hit him whenever they want and Shadow will never complain about it. He is too tired to do it.

-" You morons can hit me or do whatever you want. I don't give a fuck. You might as well kill me" 

One day on the way home, he bumps into a man. A very strange and weird man.

- "Sorry" 

- "Little boy, you look terrible what happens to you?" - the man asks Shadow, giving him a very strange bottle.

- "Try to drink this. It will make you better, little boy. I'll give you this for free, the number of pills in here is enough for you to take one every day after 4 years. But remember do not over dose this. " 

- "w-wait" 

Somehow, that man disappeared. Everything left is the bottle in Shadow's hands. 

Sitting near the window with the guitar in his arms, he tries to play the song he and Akuma wrote. This is the guitar Akum gave him for his 9th birthday, the only thing Akuma left for him...

Tears run down Shadow's face and he can't stop it. "Fuck this...."

Suddenly, He remembers the bottle the stranger gives him. Take out one pill, he stares at it for some time then swallows it.

"One woudln't hurt " - He thinks

But since that time, he couldn't stop drinking it. Like what that man said, this makes him feel better. Shadow now can smile and feel much more alive. 

Once he takes it, He can't stop drinking it. Like some kind of drug.

+ Moved away

One week after the day Shadow got the bottle, the "family" decided to move to another town, far away from the house Aiko died. Even so, Aiko is always there for Shadow even when she's a ghost. 

New house, new place, new school but nothing ever changes. Shadow keeps getting bullied and abused. 

But he didn't complain either. He just got used to it. Moreover, thanks to the effect of the drug, he always smiles, so no one knows if he is sad or suffering.

Here and there, everyone shunned and despised him. Wherever he is, someone will hate him. He's now empty.

                 " Shadow is just an empty person with a smiley mask on" 

+ Saved  

One day, Shadow got hit by an iron rod by one of your bullies near the river. Before losing consciousness, he just clutched a knob of grass and wondered what did he do wrong?

After waking up from a nightmare of old memories, he finds himself in someone else's master room, his head also bandaged. And that's when he met Arashi - who was exactly like him and who was ready to help him out.

Not long after, he met a girl named Aliaa, she was very nice and also helped him a lot. She always cares about him and seems kinda similar to Aiko. 

The two of them saved him.  Saved him before he let go.

+ Broken Promise

Arashi and Shadow are very close friends but they mostly fight. Whenever that happens Aliaa will always be there to help them reconcile. Shadow needed those two and they needed him too.
They were always together no matter what. Cause all of them know, they can only be happy and safe when they have each other.

Shadow and Arashi have a promise. The promise of never leaving the others: "Stay by my side" 

Shadow and Aliaa make a promise. The promise to always protect each other: " I'll always protect you" 

Both Aliaa and Arashi have a promise with Shadow and Shadow is the one who promises them too. 

Even so, Shadow was the one who breaks it after three years. On a very special day, His birthday - June 14.

                                                  "I'm tired, sorry guys" 

       Tears run down his face, he put on a smile. He's too tired now...

I tried to draw Shadow and It took 1 hour and I didn't even finish it;-; But I still like it to be honest
I didn't use any references so I guess It's understandable;v;

The tattoo was supposed to be "Happy pills"  It's around his arm so in my drawing it only shows " ppy-p " and my friend couldn't see it very well so she draw "ppp-p" '-'
