chapter sixteen!

here comes the bride!

THE NEXT DAY, it was Will and Haley's wedding and Jackie was scrambling to make it perfect. Lee and Isaac weren't really helping, flinging sprinkles at each other. "Could you guys please help me with the cupcakes? I can't just put the frosting by myself." Kia stated, causing Isaac to roll his eyes. "Fine, we'll help. Also because you said please."

About two hours later, the cupcakes were frosted and ready to be eaten. Isaac tried taking one, only for his hand to be smacked by Kia. "Ow! What was that for?"

"These are for the guests. You can't just eat them whenever you want."

"Could I have one? Just one? Please?" Issac pouted, causing Kia to sigh. "Fine. You're lucky Jackie isn't here right now. Otherwise, she'd kill me."

"What would I do without you, Peters?"

"You'd probably get no cupcakes."

"You're not funny."

"I think I am, actually."

"Kia? You're back!" Parker exclaimed, running up to Kia and giving her a hug. "Parker! Hi!"  As the two of them talked, Issac couldn't help but smile.  He found it sweet that Parker had grew fond of Kia.  Sure, the two of them didn't see eye to eye at times but she would still try to be nice to him every once in a while.

THE WEDDING WAS FINALLY all set as the guests made their way to their seats.  Alex and Danica were sitting next to each other, talking.   As Brady and Jackie walked to the chairs, Lee and Samira followed suit. "So are you excited to see you know who?" Nathan asked Isaac. "Who are you talking about?"

"Issac, you know exactly who I'm referring to. I bet you're going to start blushing when she arrives."

"I am not."

"Hey, Garcia." Issac turned his head around, noticing Kia. She had on a short sparkly blue dress with heels and silver jewelry.  Her hair was styled in a high ponytail, longer than usual.  "Peters, hey. You look nice." he stated as his cheeks started to flush a bit. "Thank you. You don't look bad yourself."

"Are you saying that I look handsome?"

"And are you saying that I look pretty?"

"I asked you first."

"Fine, you look handsome."

"Thanks. You look pretty."

"I know. Thanks though." The two decided to sit with Lee and Samira who were in their own world. Soon enough, the priest started to speak. Haley walked down the aisle, Will and her said their vows, and were officially married.

Kia had just shared a plate of food, sitting with Lee, Samira, Paige, Liam, and Isaac. As she ate her food, she couldn't help but laugh. "Okay but what is up with the suspenders? Who made you wear them?" she asked, causing Issac to roll his eyes. "Hey! They don't even look that bad. Plus, our aunt wanted us to wear them."

"I have to thank her for that. You guys look kind of silly in them." As they continued eating, Cole gave a speech about Will. He mentioned his past and how despite facing hardships, he still helps the family. Kia thought it was very sweet of Cole and didn't really expect him to be like that.

Night quickly fell as the guests started to slow dance. Kia was sitting down, watching from afar. "Do you want to dance?" She looked up, relieved it was Isaac. "Sure, Garcia." He led her to the floor, wrapping his arms around her waist. Kia wrapped her arms around his neck as they slowly swayed to the music.

"The wedding was really nice." Kia stated with a smile, looking at the decorations.  "Yeah, it was."

"Wait, so let me get this straight... you helped Will with that prank?" she asked.  "I did.  It was so funny! You should've seen the look on his teacher's face."

"You are crazy, Garcia." she teased as he spun her around.  "Crazy? Peters, you wound me."

"How badly did I wound you?" she asked as he slowly dipped her for a moment.  "Hm... a lot.  Although, doctors say that a kiss can make pain go down." he answered in a flirty tone, causing Kia to roll her eyes.  "You want me to kiss you?"

"I'm in pain, Peters.  Plus, I did something nice today." he stated.  "Really? And what exactly did you do that was so nice?"

"I helped out with the wedding.  Plus, it'd be a shame to let this nice suit go to waste."  Kia rolled her eyes, kissing his cheek.  "Is the pain gone now?" she asked.  "I think so." he answered as he pulled her back up from the dip.  "Lee's so in love with your friend it's crazy."

"I think it's sweet.  Plus, Sam deserves someone better than Greg." she stated. "Yeah, she does. Wait... are we not fighting for once?"

"I guess we are. This feels... weirdly nice." Kia stated. "It feels wrong. We don't usually get along."

"Did you just rhyme?" Kia asked, laughing. "It was by accident! It wasn't supposed to be funny!" Maybe one day, Issac would finally tell Kia how he really felt. But all he could really do in the moment was pretend to hate her.
