TOMORROW WAS KATHERINE'S award ceremony and Brady was excited.  The woman worked hard, I mean, dealing with ten kids in the house was not for the weak. Checking his phone, he noticed that Kia texted him.

You do know that Jackie's track meet is today, right?

R u going to explain the kiss between you and Jackie last night?

I'll talk to Jackie after the relay

Bc its important to her

We do not speak of him

Plus, I don't like him like that

The racers took their places as the crowd started cheering.  Alex and Danica sat next to each other on the bleachers while Kia, Brady, Paige, and Liam sat behind them. "Where's Sam?" Kia asked. "She's sitting with Lee and Issac."

"Oh." Issac was getting annoyed by Lee and Samira, deciding to sit somewhere else. "Do you guys mind if I sit with you?"

"Sure. You can sit next to Kia." Brady got up from his spot, letting Issac take it. "Hey, Peters."

"Hey, Garcia. Are you excited to see Jackie win?"

"I guess. Are you?"

"Yeah. I mean, Jackie is my friend and I'm gonna support her."

"You're really nice, you know that?"

"I know, except not to you."

"What if I was drowning?"

"I barely go to your aunt's pool, Garcia."

"Just answer the question, Peters."

"I would save you. I just don't know CPR so Brady would have to do that for me."

"You care about me, Peters. Admit it."

"I do not. Let's just focus on the relay, please."

"Well, since you asked so nicely." Jackie and some girls were seen racing, causing the crowd to cheer. "Come on, Jackie! You can do it!" Alex and Danica exclaimed, making Jackie smile as she raced past a few of the other girls. "And... Jackie Howards wins!" the announcer stated, making the crowd roar in excitement. "She won! Jackie won!" Kia exclaimed, making Issac smile. "I know, Peters. I saw."

"You love to ruin my mood, don't you?"

"You know me so well, Peters."

IT WAS FINALLY TIME FOR KATHERINE'S AWARD CEREMONY as Kia walked in the room.   She had on a long light blue dress, matching butterfly heels, and silver butterfly earrings. Her hair was in a ponytail with hair clips. Taking a seat next to Issac, the boy couldn't help but notice her. "Dude, say something." Lee whispered to his brother. "Hey, Peters. You look nice."

Kia looked up from her phone, "What did you say?"

"I said hi, Peters."

"Hi, Garcia. Hey, Lee."

"Hi, Kia."

"Sam should be here soon. But how are you guys feeling about your aunt getting an award?"

"I think it's great.  She deserves it." Issac stated, causing Kia to smile.  Meanwhile, Brady and Jackie were talking, laughing about something. "You see it too right?" Issac asked, making Kia look at him. "What?"

"They're so in love with each other, yet they're so blind."

"That's what I've been saying! I bet Jackie's going to fall for him first."

"Oh, please. Obviously, Brady's going to fall for her first, Garcia."

"Are you trying to make a bet, Peters?"

"Yes, I am."

"Alright, fine. If Jackie falls for Brady first, you have -"

"Kiss Issac." Lee blurted out, causing Kia to furrow her eyebrows as Issac hit his brother's arm. "Why would I-"

"Sorry about my brother, Peters. Sometimes he says things that he shouldn't be saying."

"I mean it's just a kiss. If Issac wins, you have to kiss him. If you win, Issac has to get judo flipped by you. So deal?" Lee stated, making the two glare at each other. "Fine." The two shook on it, paying attention to the ceremony starting.

Even though it ended with Cole being drunk and Jackie speaking to him, the kids still had fun. They ate, danced, and sang to their favorite songs. Jackie couldn't help but smile at Brady, who reciprocated. Issac and Kia playfully waltzed, putting up with each other for once. "Garcia?"

"Yes, Peters?"

"What were you trying to tell me earlier?"

"You look pretty. That's what I was trying to say."

"Well, thank you. You look nice by the way."

"So I look handsome." Issac stated, playfully grinning. "I didn't say that."

"I think you did."

"Garcia-"

"Relax, Peters. I'm kidding, you know that, right?"

"Of course I do."

Fun fact: Brady's family was originally from Texas but when Brady was 8, they moved to Colorado.  Brady has a bit of a Southern accent but Paige doesn't (she used to but she got rid of it so she could fit in)
