{Ch.4- Foxie Moxie}

"Mox, yoked never gonna believe what happened." Simon said rushing into the living room where I was preparing for a day with the losers. I had grown quite fond of the group and they'd lightened up around me. Well, until I got too close.

"What'd you break this time, little brother." I said to him, he's clumsy.

"Nothing," He scoffed and rolled his eyes, smiling simultaneously, "Dana and I are going to hang out today. Can you believe it?" He jumped excitedly.

"No, I really can't." I replied sarcastically, he glared at me which made a smile form upon my lips.

"Where are you going today?" He asked as he jumped over the back of the couch to sit beside me.

"Anywhere but here." I said, I don't like Reya, John is kinda cool. You haven't seen the real her yet, but then again I haven't been home for you to see her.

"Wouldn't it be nice if it was just us, if we were never loved, isn't that what you used to tell me, we don't need love as long as we got us?" He leaned back on the cushions of the couch.

I did the same, "yeah."

Knock, knock, knock.

Simon and I both jumped up to quickly answer the door. Pushing, shoving and poking. But when I got to the door first I was pulled back by Simon, on the other side of the door: Dana Bell. The girl had short hair and nearly perfect bangs, aside from a shorter piece on the end right next to her left eyebrow.

"Dana, hi." My brother greeted the pale girl, slowly getting a summer's glow. She was nothing like our
bronzing skin, Golden in the sunlight.

"Hey, Simon, ready to go?" She asked with a smile. It made me happy that he was smiling. I hoped his smile never went away.

"Yeah," He said grabbing his jacket and heading out the door, "Bye, big sister, see you tonight." He waved bye, I did so as well and grinned to myself from my place on my floor.

"Moxie, why are you on the floor?" A certain brunette said from behind me. Reya never makes noise when she walks.

"My brother and I were messing around and-" I began as I turned around to face her.

"Didn't I tell you to stop picking with him so much?" She asked me as she stepped over me and into the kitchen.

"Right, sorry." I sighed and looked down, I quickly got up and grabbed my bag.

"Where are you going, what are you up to?" She asked as she began to look in the refrigerator.

"Nothing, going somewhere with friends." I said quietly stalking over to the entrance of the kitchen.

She closed the fridge door and walked over to me with a smile. She then stopped when she reached me and touched my cheek.

"Don't be a whore." Then walked away.

I looked at her then down to the ground, "I know."

Ring.

I've never bolted out of one of my homes this fast in my life. I hurried up and ran past two familiar boys that awaited on my porch.

"You okay, Moxie?" An out of breath Eddie Kaspbrak asked as he and Richie did there best to catch up with me.

"I'm perfectly fine, how bout you guys; how are my favorite asthmatic and trash mouth?" I asked slinging my arms around each of the boys.

"Perfect now that you're here, Foxie Moxie." Richie purred as he put his hand dangerously low in my waist.

"Quit it, Richie, Bill and Mike would both kill you." Eddie warned his four-eyed friend.

"How'd you guys know where I lived?" I asked taking my arms off of them and stuffing them into my overall pockets.

"That Simon kid is your brother, right? We passed him and his girlfriend while walking." Eddie answered me. I slung my bag in front of my and got my sunglasses from the little pocket, my glasses were also in there. I can't really see, but I don't really want to draw too much attention to my eyes. They embarrass me.

I placed the shades on my head and kept walking. I put my head down, not knowing what to talk about, listening to their easy conversation.

"What are you, mute, why aren't you talking?" Richie finally said as we got closer to the ice cream parlor.

I shrugged and grinned shyly, "I'm new to the whole 'having friends' thing." I said pulling my sunglasses down over my eyes.

"Well, talk, that's what I always do."

"Oh, we know, you're a big mouth, everyone knows that." Eddie scoffed and rolled his eyes at his friend.

"Not as big as your mother's panties, I could use them as a parachute."

"I told you, Richie, stop talking about my mother." Eddie defended himself. Hitting his friend in the stomach.

When we reached the parlor, the door chimed and the other losers spotted us, they were in the back in a big booth.

"Your lives may start, I am here." Richie said as he and Eddie slid into the booth next to Stan.

"More like our lives are ending." Stan commented, rolling his eyes as perusal.

Beverly stood up so I could sit in between her and Bill, I smiled at her then the stuttering boy. He returned the gesture.

"What took you so long?" Ben asked from his place by the window. He was looking at a menu.

"Hey, wouldn't you want a few extra moments with the Moxie Beckett?" Richie questioned.

"This is the one time we're gonna agree with you, Richie." Mike said looking at me then sending me a grin, making me blush.

Bill handed me a menu right in front of my face, blocking my view of Mike. I took it from him with grace and squinted my eyes as I looked at the words.

"Are you sure you're alright?" Eddie questioned, I looked up to see that everyone's gazes had been on me, making me feel embarrassed.

"Yeah, I just can't see very well, I'm fine." I dismissed it and looked back at the menu of frozen sugars galore.

Bill pushed the menu down which made me look at him. He gave me a look as of saying 'stop lying'. I just sighed and looked down at my fingers. He put his hand on top of mine. My gaze snapped to his.

"C-can you not s-see?" He asked.

I sighed and started to rummage through my bag, murmuring obscurities. I pulled out my thin-rimmed, circular, golden glasses. I slowly placed them on my face and looked around as my world got clearer.

Everyone looked at me but only one boy spoke, "hey, you're a four eyes just like me!" Richie said loudly, making me smile at the situation, "and you still look hot."

Two thuds were heat then Richie's shrieks of 'ow'. Mike and Bill were glaring at the Hawaiian shirt wearing loud mouth we call a companion.

"Let's order." I said to take a way from the awkward moment.

By the end of the night Beverly and I were sharing a large bowl of star berry ice cream and talking about the boys secretly. Laughing harder than the others were, my glasses low on the bridge of my nose.

[yo, happy Halloween]
