I'd  like to thank my dad for being awesome,

I had been thinking of playing a musical instrument for a while and decided to try out guitar, because my dad used to play guitar when he was my age. I asked him if he still had his old guitar, and he did. I remember sitting on the floor as I watched him play for the first time, and it made me extremely happy.

He was scared that I'd give up on guitar after a month or two so he decided to go out with me to a guitar shop to pick out another guitar for me (preferably an electric) so we could practice together, but I fell in love with the sound of the acoustic guitars, so we got one of those instead, specifically, a $200 Yamaha guitar (which was the second cheapest in the room, it sounds beautiful)

It's been a slow go, but I've been trying to practice it, because I like playing it. My dad often comes into my room just to practice guitar, and I really enjoy it. It makes me happy because it feels like an "us" thing. Whenever I learn a new song, I go downstairs and ask if I can play it for him.

Of course, I know only two simple songs right now, but I'm proud of myself still! The song I'm currently learning reminds me a lot of my dad and that's why I'm excited to play it for him!

I know I might sound like I'm bragging, but it just makes me extremely happy
