What's a Sleepover?
Point of View: Mabel
I sighed, sitting on my bed. I had hoped to play twenty questions with Dipper, but he ran off. I lay down and began to close my eyes, but then, I heard the door open. I looked up to see Dipper and another boy about our age come inside.
"Woah, Dipper, who's that?" I whispered to my brother, staring at the blond boy. He was handsome, and well-dressed for a teenager. Dipper just looked at me funny.
"That's Will." Dipper replied. I glanced at him again, and narrowed my eyes. That was strange. "He has a sort of familiar name, I know..." Dipper said, while Will picked up a pencil and paper and started sketching something. "At first I wasn't sure if I could trust him. He started off by calling me 'Pine Tree.' But he seems trustworthy. Just bored."
I ignored Dipper, and smiled at Will. He looked at my sweater, which was my favorite, the shooting star. I glanced at him, and he smiled at me. I opened my mouth, and a string of words came out by accident.
"Hey Will, my name's Mabel, nice to meet you! How old are you? When did you meet my brother? Do you like sweaters? What about sparkles? Ooh, do you wanna play a game? I wanted to play twenty questions with Dipper but he left. Hey, now you can play too! Also, we can play checkers and I can beat Dipper, and th-"
My voice was cut off suddenly by Dipper putting his hand on my mouth to shush me. I glared at him, and he took his hand off, knowing that I would have licked his hand if he didn't. Will was covering his mouth, slightly laughing.
"So," Dipper cleared his throat, "do you guys wanna play twenty questions?" He asked. Will got some crayons and sat down on Dipper's bed.
"Yeah, sure, one second." Will replied, using the crayons to color whatever he was drawing. Then he got up. "So... how do you play twenty questions?"
Ten Minutes Later
"So, you just think of something, and someone else has to ask you twenty yes-or-no questions to figure it out? Sounds easy enough, I'll start!" Will chuckled, sitting on the floor with Dipper and Mabel next to him. "Okay, got it. Start guessing."
I thought for a moment. "Is it a human?" I asked.
"No."
Dipper frowned. "Wait, hold on, are we getting twenty questions each or are we getting all our questions together?"
"Together. It's harder, and, uh, Mabel will probably use up all your guesses."
"Yep I will."
Dipper sighed. "Okay then. Is it a living thing?"
Will thought about this. "Well, it used to be living..." he said. I then had a good guess of what he was talking about.
"Does it walk around?" I asked him.
"Yes."
"Is it undead?" Asked Dipper, understanding what I was getting at.
"Yes. Getting close."
I thought for a moment it was almost too easy! "Is it a zombie?"
"Yes, but what kind of zombie?"
Not as easy as I had thought. Dipper looked at Will with a questioning look. "What do you mean what kind?" He asked. "There's only one kind of zombie."
Will smiled. "Nope, you're wrong!"
I thought for a minute. "Waiiiit... you said it wasn't a human, right?" I asked Will.
"Correct, Mabel." Will replied, his smile growing wider. "You're getting it."
Dipper's eyes lit up. "Is it some sort of animal zombie?" He asked.
"Yes." Will replied.
"It's a puppy zombie, isn't it?" I smiled.
Will smiled as well. "So close! Think more claws."
I knew the answer. "It's a kitten zombie!"
"Yes. Good job Mabel! Your turn!"
An Hour Later
Point of View: Bill / Will
I sat next to Shooting Star and Pine Tree, my legs crossed. I wanted so badly just to look inside Pine Tree's mind, to figure out how to win this round, but that would be suspicious. "Is it a daisy?" I asked. I was not good with flowers.
Pine Tree looked at me funny. "I said it's red, Will."
"Oh. Right."
Shooting Star smiled. "My turn to ask! It's obviously a rose!"
I frowned. "Darn it, I should have known that... okay Mabel," I yawned, "y... your turn..." Why was I so tired? I had never needed sleep before. It was probably because of this stupid human body...
"Will, you look tired." Pine Tree said, concern in his eyes. "It's midnight, we probably need to go to sleep."
Shooting Star got a strange look in her eyes. Dipper shook his head, and seemed to know what she was about to say. Her face had this strangely large smile on it. "Mabel?" I asked. "Are you going to explode or something?"
"Yes, she is." Sighed Pine Tree.
"SLEEPOVER!" Shooting Star yelled, and Pine Tree and I covered our ears.
"What's a sleepover?" I asked.
If it's even possible, Shooting Star's smile got wider.
