I'm It. Get It? Because I've Been Tagged...

8. Be creative with your questions (Spoiler: I broke this rule)
Thirteen Facts About Me:
(Seriously questioning whether or not I'm interesting enough to have thirteen facts about myself...let's find out)
1. I'm a Christian
2. I've played piano since I was five, which feels stereotypical for some reason
3. I've never been out of the country
4. I really enjoy playing video games – current favorites being 'Halo' (love most of them, but the first is still my favorite for sentimental reasons) and 'Borderlands', although 'Super Mario Bros.' will always have a special place in my heart
5. I'm trying to learn Spanish and Russian through an app called 'Duolingo' because I'm nuts and think it's fun
6. I once started reading the dictionary because I thought it'd be interesting. I made it through the letter C before I changed my mind
7. I'm teaching myself the ukulele and messing around on a borrowed mandolin to see how I like it
8. Although I'm sure I've forgotten a lot of it because I haven't been to class in over a year, I'm a black belt in Japanese Jujitsu and a high brown belt in Karate
9. I love taters. Po-tay-toes. Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew. *sigh*
10. The first story I ever wrote had a pegasus and a dragon and the story ended with my main character stabbing the dragon in the eye, believing him to be dead, only for the dragon to get away in the end. I think I watched too much Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner and was bored with the idea of the bad guys always losing. I think I also had planned for the magical creatures to turn out to be aliens in the end...thanks for that, 'Stargate SG1'
11. (Why are there three more? Seriously, I'm a very boring person...) I've never cosplayed before, but I'm bound and determined to do some version of the Winter Soldier and go to ComiCon, but only if I can do a legitimately good job of it
12. At one point in high school I read 'The Lord of the Rings' for Lit. Since I was super popular and had, just, all of the friends, I memorized the song that Tom Bombadil taught the hobbits for when they needed help and Frodo's song in The Green Dragon. I still remember a couple of verses from both of them...and sing them when no one can hear me...
13. I'm so boring. You don't understand how long it took me to think of twelve things about myself that weren't all completely uninteresting. Does this count as a fact about myself? I'm gonna say it does
Thirteen Questions, Posed by WxrMxchineRox, That I Must Answer:
1. How did you discover Wattpad and what's the first book you read on this site?
Geez, I have a vague memory of searching the internet for free stories, and it sort of led me here. No idea what I read first
2. What is the best fan fiction you've ever read?
Ah, going for the easy questions, I see. It was probably the one I started before I even made an account. I sort of "lost" it and I don't remember the title which is fairly upsetting because I never got to finish it...but it was about Loki and the main character was blind and I really liked it because it felt very real for the most part – at least that's how I remember it
3. What is the best book you've ever read?
'The Lord of the Rings', but I've already used that in the last tag thingy, so... a couple of other good ones that I've recently read have been, 'A Monster Calls' by Patrick Ness, 'The 5th Wave' by Rick Yancey, and 'Sora's Quest' by T.L. Shreffler
4. Why do you write and what inspires/motivates you to do so?
I write because it's the only way to make the story stop talking to me. Boy, that makes me sound nuts. I'll get a story/scenario in my head and then different scenes and snippets of dialogue will consume my thoughts and attention until it's all I can think about so I have to write it down to get it out of my head
5. Who is your favorite musical artist and why?
Don't have a favorite, but I've been really enjoying Nico Vega, The Civil Wars, and Michael Bublé recently
6. What is your favorite song and why?
Bleh. Hate picking favorites. I currently really like 'To Whom it May Concern' by The Civil Wars because the sound is beautiful and the lyrics are sweet and melancholy, and 'Hurt' covered by Johnny Cash because...well, just listen to it...so much genuine emotion in his voice...
7. What do you want to pursue as a career or what do you currently do?
My current job isn't really worth mentioning as I'm quite apathetic towards it, but I recently realized that I still want to do the same thing/s that I wanted to do eleven years ago: be a writer and/or actor. I've taken the first couple of steps in the writing department (actually writing and then sharing my work and getting some feedback), and I'm dipping my toes into acting...ish, so I guess I'll see if I still enjoy it like I used to. I don't have any real expectations of making any money at either of these, but it could happen, I suppose
8. What is your primary goal in life?
Being a Christian, my primary goal in life is to bring glory to God in whatever I do; which can be brought about in several different ways such as doing everything I do to the best of my ability, acting in a way that honors Him, reflecting His character to those around me (His love, compassion, mercy, etc.), being obedient to His Word, the list goes on and on. I'm still only human, so I'm not always successful and I do fail a lot, but I'm a work in progress
9. Happiness or success?
I suppose the answer would depend on what you would view as success. Happiness is just dependent on your circumstances, success could just be what other people think of as an accomplishment. If I had to pick something, I think I'd pick doing the right thing and, within that, doing what you enjoy
10. What is your favorite movie and why?
You apparently wish suffering upon me. Again, don't have a favorite and I'm not going to say anything by Marvel 'cause that'd be expected, so... 'The Count of Monte Cristo', 'The Emperor's New Groove', 'Newsies' (a musical with Christian Bale), and 'Oklahoma!' (the recording of the stage production with Hugh Jackman, because there's something so amazing about watching Wolverine bust out the song, 'Oh, What a beautiful Morning')
11. Scarlett Johansson or Elizabeth Olsen?
Don't know much at all about Elizabeth Olsen, so I'm gonna go with Scarlett Johansson (especially since she handles sexist questions with the best deflection ever – just talking about what a beast of a character Black Widow is)
12. Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pratt, or Chris Pine?
This is difficult since I don't know what I'm picking them for (i.e. yard work, hanging out, fashion advice, intimidation of unsavory characters, older brother stand-in, etc.). Also, I know next to nothing about them...soooooooo, I think I'd pick Evans and Hemsworth because they're frickin' hilarious together
13. What is your favorite venue of social media?
I don't do social media, unless Wattpad qualifies. The only other social media account I have is Facebook, and I actively avoid that
I Challenge:
Aaaaaaaaand I don't know anyone else well enough to tag them. So. Looks like I broke another rule. But if you follow me and would like to do this, consider yourself tagged. :)
My Thirteen Questions to You Are:
1. If you could have anything for a pet (mythological is acceptable, people are not), what would you pick?
2. Besides reading/writing, what do you do for fun?
3. If you could change one thing in your favorite movie/book, what would it be?
4. Favorite TV show?
5. Lions, tigers, or bears? (Or ligers. Ligers would also be an acceptable answer)
6. If you could have any one superpower, what would you pick and why?
7. What do you think happened in Budapest?
8. Least favorite fictional villain?
9. If you could visit any place in the world for a day, what would you pick?
10. Narwhals - unicorns of the sea or vicious sword duelists?
11. Most disappointing movie/show/book you've seen/read recently?
12. (-_- I have no ideas left for questions so...) Favorite holiday?
13. Favorite punctuation?
That was stupidly difficult for me to finish. I had to reference my own story to get that last question. I'm very disappointed in me. Anyway. Have fun, don't feel obligated to do this if you don't want to, live long, and prosper.
