Secret Santa Exchange

Hey, guys! So, I entered a Secret Santa One Shot Exchange by DevonEpicSweeney where you basically submit a form for a fanfiction one shot and she will assign your form to someone and you'll be assigned to someone else. As far as I'm concerned, the sign-ups are open until midnight depending on when you see this. It's 12:08 am on the eight where I live (don't judge me, I've stayed up 'till 3 on a school night before) so they should still be open. I was assigned to QueenDarling07 so, I hope you like it!

"So, we're actually doing this?"

"Yes, Padfoot, we're actually doing a Dirty Santa Christmas exchange this year." Remus responded with an eye-roll "Stop acting like it's the end of the world."

"You always complain that you don't know what to get for all of us, now you only have to get a joke gift for one of us," Lily said while bouncing two-month-old Harry on her knee. "Bless the soul who gets your gift."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"Remember when you got me that pimple cream when we were in sixth year?" Marlene asked.

"And who hasn't had one pimple since?"

"Or the time you got me a book about astronomy?" James added.

"That was a joke!"

"Or the time you got me spoiled chocolate milk?" Remus imputed.

"Okay, had that ice cream stayed frozen, you would have loved that gift, admit it."

"How about when you gave me an old copy of the Daily Prophet?" Peter accused.

"That was when you were going through that weird origami phase!"

"Point being," Lily said. "You pretty much give us joke gifts every year, so I feel bad for whoever gets one of your real joke presents."

"Well maybe I'll just give whoever I draw a really nice gift just to show I can get good gifts."

"That's not the point, you're supposed to give a joke gift."

"I don't care."

"Since when have you passed up on the chance to prank someone and get away with it?"

"Okay, fine. I'm in."

Remus wrote everyone's names down on a piece of paper and everyone drew out a slip from Sirius's hat.

Everyone looked at the slips they had gotten and, unknown to each other, quickly resolved to give a gift the receiver was guaranteed to love.

Lily

Lily entered Madame Puddifoot's Tea Shop and went to the little store in the back corner and searched for just the right tea mixture.

There were one's that gave you a nice daydream, ones that made you see the good in everything, ones that caused you to instantly fall asleep, ones that tasted like your favorite candy, ones that make you think of good memories, and ones that made you crave more tea.

She left with a fairly large wrapped box that smelled of tea leaves and chocolate.

James

James also went to a tea shop, the one located on Diagon Alley, Rosa Lee's Teabag. He was in there for a rather large time, one hour to be exact and went home to hide an envelope in the bottom of his old school bag that was in the attic.

Marlene

Marlene also had no problem deciding what to get. She simply went to Honeyduke's, bought a large bag of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs, and Fizzing Wizzbees.

She then went to her home and put a very special charm on a very special box, put the sweets into the box, and wrapped the gift.

Sirius

Sirius entered Eeylop's with a very distinctive idea of what he wanted to get. He combed through the isles of things just bursting for his attention, but he noticed none of them, because none of them were a bright yellow color.

He finally found exactly what he wanted, payed the clerk for his purchase and a small book to go with it and went back to his small flat.

Sirius put a special charm on a large box and added his purchase and a bit of nice bakery bread to the package and wrapped it up.

Remus

Remus, on a different day of coarse, also entered Eeylop's, but for a different purchase. When he asked the clerk, she directed him to the back wall that was filled with what he sought, just different colors.

He picked out a small, grey one with no magical properties except for the fact that it was guaranteed to last thirty years or it would be replaced free of charge depending on the circumstances of the need.

He took it home, performed the same charm on a similar box and added his purchase before wrapping the box as well.

Peter

Peter wasn't as certain about what he wanted to get for his pick so he settled on making the recipient of his gift's favorite desert.

He had to try many times to get the desert just right, but was very pleased with the end result. He added a charm to keep it from spoiling and wrapped it in foil.

On Christmas Eve, the six friends got together and gathered in a circle with the gifts, all in identical boxes with the recipient's name written on the top, in the middle. Lily had them all roll a dice to see who would open their gift first.

Sirius picked up the box with his name and lifted the lid. He let out a hearty laugh before lifting the box of women's hair products out for the others to see.

After everyone was done dying of laughter, James spoke up, "Well, Padfoot, open it up and see what you got."

Sirius opened the little box and his smile grew even wider as he pulled out his favorite candy, "Whoever did this one is a bloody genius."

Then Peter found his gift and his eyes widened as the little rat jumped into his hands.

"Well, aren't you adorable?"

"What are you gonna name it, Wormtail?" Sirius asked him.

"Can't 'till later," he responded. "Once we tell who gave who what, I can find out if it's a boy or a girl."

As Peter took the unnamed rat into the kitchen to fetch it a cup of water, Lily found her box among the pile and looked up with a confused look before pulling out the envelope.

She opened the envelope and started reading the contents. About two lines in, she broke into a huge smile.

"I don't know who got me this but how in the name of Merlin did you manage to get Rosa Lee's recipe for strawberry tart?"

"Guess you'll find out later," James said. "Moony, you're next."

Remus picked up the box with his name on it and pulled out the slightly smaller wrapped gift.

After neatly taking off the wrapping paper, Remus lifted the lid of the white box and smiled.

"Tea and chocolate," he said with a chuckle. "My favorite breakfast."

"So healthy, yet so not."

"That's the point, Marles."

"What kind of tea is it, Remus?"

"Calming tea, sleeping tea, and daydream tea," he said after shifting through the package. "This'll all be gone by next Thursday."

"We know, Moony," James told him. "Is it my turn now?"

Marlene handed him his gift and he threw the lid to the side. He looked inside and smiled, "I know what's for desert."

He pulled out a giant treacle tart that was still warm and smelled so good everyone's mouth's began to water and Harry began to drool, but that may have been because he was still only two months old.

James summoned some plates and silverware and started cutting pieces for everyone as Marlene opened the last box.

"Why is it vibrating?" She asked a little panicked. "I am going to be so pissed if everyone else got a really good one and mine's going to blow up in my face."

She slowly opened the box and looked inside then squealed. She reached her hands in side and pulled out a baby puffskein that was humming.

"Oh Merlin, this is the most adorable thing I have ever held in my life."

"What about when you were helping us pick out a cat?"

"Nope, this is way better."

"Hey, there's something else in there," James said as he reached over to hand Peter some treacle tart. He pulled out a book about caring for puffskeins. "I think you're going to need this later, he said after reading the back. They've been known to eat your bogeys as you sleep."

"Way to ruin the moment, Prongs," Sirius said.

"Okay, who got who what?" Marlene asked.

"Let's try to guess," Remus suggested. "I think Lily got mine."

"How did you know?"

"Can you honestly see anyone else giving me tea and chocolate?"

"Fair point. Let me guess, James?"

"That was an easy one," he gave her a short kiss. "You have no idea how long I had to beg to get that recipe."

"One hour?"

"Okay maybe it wasn't very long, but it felt like days. Anyways, I'm guessing, Moony?"

"Nope," Peter piped. "It was me!"

"You cooked a treacle tart?"

"No, I cooked nine treacle tart-like bricks and one treacle tart that was actually edible."

"Well, thanks, who do you think got yours?"

"Now that was Moony."

"That was pretty clear."

"So that means, Sirius got me mine?"

"Yup."

"I love you so much right now."

"You mean that?"

"Kinda. . ."

Sirius pecked her on the cheek.

"Yes?"

"Definitely."

Lily covered Harry's eyes as the two shared a more passionate kiss.

Wow, that felt so weird writing a fluff chapter. Anyways, hope you liked it QueenDarling07 and hope you guys did too! I know it's not quite the romance you were going for, but once I start writing, the story often goes far away from what I originally planed.
