Graphite
Here's a free verse poem entitled Graphite.
They tell you "pressure makes diamonds" but it's not necessarily true. I am an April baby, so my birthstone is a diamond, but I am not one. Just because my daddy says I am doesn't mean he speaks the truth. I mean, he did introduce me to Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy, so why should he stop his lying now? Look, I'm not saying everyone's as weak as I am, but some people are. So you can be a diamond; withstanding any pressure, any force only making you stronger. But me? No, I'm a graphite. If you are a diamond, I am a graphite that breaks under pressure. I am a graphite and I snap in the hands of a kindergarten baby, only trying to dot her Is and cross her Ts. So daddy I'm not add good as you want me to be. You shouldn't full me with false confidence, or make me feel special when I'm NOT.
