~Akane~

After that Sesshomaru had some questions and there was only one being that could answer them, the tree demon Bokusen'on who's bark was used to create the sheaths for Tessaiga and Tenseiga and so we travelled to the dense forest the tree demon called home, it took us a few days to reach it, though frankly i've totally lost track of how long i've been here, at least two months give or take i'd guess.

Anyway a voice echoed in the woods welcoming us "I had been expecting you Sesshomaru"the voice said "So you say you knew i was coming did you old Bokusen'on?"Sesshomaru asked "You've come to me to speak about the swords i presume?"the voice asked and a face appeared on one of the trees, creepy.

"Bokusen'on perhaps you can explain the link to me, between Inuyasha and the Tessaiga?" Sesshomaru asked "Inuyasha? Your younger brother?"the tree asked "Inuyasha's blood has changed, the first time when a demon bit and broke the Tessaiga the second time he had let go of Tessaiga while fighting me"Sesshomaru said, i had been curious about that change too.

"His scent wasn't that of a half demons, it was the scent of a pure demons blood like mine and my fathers"Sesshomaru said "The same scent? i have my doubts"the tree demon laughed "What do you mean by that?"Sesshomaru asked "Inuyasha is a half demon born between a demon and a human, he could never become a full fledged demon, Sesshomaru there's something a pure demon like you is capable of accomplishing but which Inuyasha could never do"Bokusen'on said.

"Go on"Sesshomaru said, i wanted to hear more too "It is simple i speak of protecting oneself" the tree said "Protecting oneself?"Sesshomaru asked seemingly confused, it was clear to me though whenever Inuyasha is driven into a corner he'll panic and his demon blood will boil with the desire to protect himself over everything else, i listened to the old tree regardless.

"If you find yourself in a hopeless situation you are able to stay calm, you never lose control of yourself "Bokusen'on said "Ha, it wouldn't be possible for me to fall into such a desperate situation"Sesshomaru cut in "No i don't suppose you would, Inuyasha is another matter however, if backed into a corner to the point where his life is in danger his demon blood takes control and transforms in order to protect his life"the tree demon said, i thought as much.

 "Unfortunately for Inuyasha the pure demon blood of his father is too much for a half demon such as himself "Bokusen'on said finishing its explanation "What will the outcome be?" Sesshomaru asked "Well simply put the demon blood will devour his human soul, he will not be able to recognize himself, he will not be able to tell friend from foe, he will simply kill and with repeated transformations Inuyasha will eventually lose his soul, he will become a demon that only knows how to fight and kill and he will continue to do so until he is destroyed, i sincerely doubt that your father wished for such a terrible faith upon his own son that is why he left Inuyasha the sword Tessaiga, to protect his soul"Bokusen'on said.

Well that sucks for Inuyasha, though as long as he holds onto Tessaiga he'll be fine, glad Sesshomaru and i don't have to worry about any of that, although i wonder if Sesshomaru's life was in danger would i snap like that? i doubted it, i mean i know Sesshomaru can handle himself, though would it be the same if i was in that situation? Probably not, i mean Sesshomaru probably wouldn't snap but i'm sure he'd kill whoever put me in that situation.

Anyway with his questions answered Sesshomaru thanked the old tree demon before we left the forest "Something the matter Akane?"Sesshomaru asked "Not really, i was just thinking that Toga had a lot of faith in you"i said "What do you mean?"Sesshomaru asked "Well it's just that he left Tessaiga to Inuyasha to protect him, lending his power to Inuyasha in a way, and you with Tenseiga, a sword useless in battle, i'm just thinking that your father had a lot of faith in your power"i said, Sesshomaru seemed to think about it himself "I suppose he had less to worry about when it came to me"he said.

After that we travelled in silence, though i wondered where we were heading as Sesshomaru was leading us somewhere, after a while we came to a stop and Sesshomaru left Rin with Jaken and A-Un as him and i continued the way to wherever he was going.

The answer to that soon became clear as we arrived at a village just in time to see Inuyasha transform with our own eyes, i mean sure we had seen it before but now we knew why it happened, we watched as Inuyasha was indiscriminately killing everyone who was in his path before walking out to the open.

Sesshomaru looked at all the slain men and then at Inuyasha, he scoffed a bit "You're nothing more then a murderous demon"he said, a silence fell as the brothers had a stand off like in a western from the future "Come at me Inuyasha, i wish to test your strength transformed as such"Sesshomaru said goating him on, before he glanced at me "Stand back Akane"he said, i jumped over to where Kagome and the others were and watched as the fight ensued.

The fight came to an end as Sesshomaru blew away Inuyasha seemingly knocking him out cold "Please stop!"Kagome said running over and protecting Inuyasha with her body "He's been finally brought down"Sesshomaru said walking over "Don't come any closer"Kagome said, i went over to Sesshomaru reaching him before the others.

"You've completed your test, let's get going already"i said, Sesshomaru glanced at me before looking back at Kagome "Use the Tessaiga to reverse the transformation otherwise he'll continue fighting"Sesshomaru said before putting Tokijin back on his belt and walking away from Inuyasha, i looked at the group before following him.

We made it back to where Rin was with A-Un "Oh lord Sesshomaru, Akane you're finally back" she said greeting us back "Rin, i hope you have fared well?"Sesshomaru asked, i smiled a bit as Rin nodded "A-Un and i have been on our very best behaviour, Jaken has become most melancholy though"Rin said pointing over to the imp.

I smiled bending down to her eye level and ruffling her hair "Look at you using big words, you're a very smart girl aren't you Rin?"i asked, she giggled a bit a big smile on her face "Ah huh"she nodded happily, i smiled at her again though i stopped ruffling her hair "Right then i'll teach you to read and write, how would you like that Rin?"i asked "I would like that very much, thank you Akane"she smiled big and hugged me.

I laughed a bit hugging her back "You're most welcome"i said, heh i've been in this era for so long i've started to pick up the lingo, anyway with that we hopped on A-Un and on we continued on our way to find Naraku and kill him.
