Shadow sat at the meeting table, it hadn't begun yet, they were still waiting for Rouge. Abraham, leader of GUN, was at the head of the table, and the only other person inside the room besides Shadow himself. The Heroes had escaped through a shattered window, footage showed that the mysterious new member of the Robotnik family had done the deed. Cyber Robotnik, but for some reason when they hacked into Eggman's systems there were no results when they looked it up.

The door cracked open, Rouge let herself in and sat in the chair besides Shadow, finally the first words were spoken.

"I'm sure that the both of you know about Cyber." The two nodded, how could they forget the kid who punched a GUN officer in the face without hesitation? "He has shown the be incredibly powerful."

"The footage showed that he was enraged, that could be a factor." Shadow pointed out.

"Indeed, but do you question on how he got the power?" Shadow looked up in thought, he hadn't really been surprised at the kid's power due to having met Silver and Sonic. But Cyber set things aflame, had speed, warped and even had his own version of Chaos Control.

"To be honest, I really haven't." He replied, the commander nodded in response.

"I have been expecting that, did you notice what happened to our Chaos Emerald?" He directed the question to Rouge.

"Oh course not, you always keep me away from it, rumors say it has been stolen." She answered. "And I haven't touched, I promise."

"I believe you, I think that this is another stunt the kid performed last-minute." He paused. "And it was the fourth Emerald you collected, Shadow."

"Damn!" Shadow yelled. "I worked hard for that Emerald!"

"There, there. We can find another one for you Honey." Rouge comforted and patted his back, making him glare at her.

"Not just that, he shattered bulletproof glass, he's not able to do that as his usual self." Abe added.

"How do you know that?" Shadow asked.

"The interrogation, he tried to leap through the one-way glass that was also bulletproof, the result was a tranquilized freak." Abe mentioned. "I was there to see it for myself."

"So that's supposed to be his kryptonite." Rouge pointed out. "But he not only break, but shatter one."

"What are you suggesting?" Shadow asked, the commander didn't bring up things directly.

"What I'm saying is, he might've changed his form for a short amount of time, nowhere near super but still powerful." Abe finally cut to the chase.

"But how? He didn't have any Emeralds with him at the time." Rouge said, Shadow nodded.

"You can't change forms without a power source." Shadow mentioned, he knew, he tried to once but it failed.

"Well the kid did." Abraham stated firmly, this was a fact. "His anger must fuel his power somehow."

"Any other emotions that can trigger the same affect?" Shadow had to know, he heard of Sonic having a Dark Form.

"High amounts of powerful emotions can possibly do the trick." Rouge said. "Anger, fear, grief, maybe even being excited enough can cause a similar form."

"But where did he get his power?" That was the big question. "He doesn't teleport, he warps and leaves a trail. He sets things on fire with some magic blue fire and telekinesis is 200 years ahead of us! And what he uses is connected to Chaos Energy, I have a suspicion..."

There was a moment of silence, it dragged on for about a good fifteen minutes until Rouge finally spoke up again.

"Well, what is it Sir?"

"Have any attacks on you take some blood, fur, anything like that?" He asked, it seemed out of the blue. "By Eggman only."

"Eggman's robots took a little of my ear, at least I got a free piercing out of that." Rouge pointed to the gold earring studded with a few gems she wore on her right ear.

"A fight drew some blood, the robot retreated shortly afterwards." Shadow mentioned.

"Do you think something of the like may have happened to Sonic?" They both thought about it, and eventually nodded. "Then it may be what I feared, how long ago were those attacks?"

"Around a decade." Shadow informed, Rouge said about twelve years ago.

"Then it may be what I feared, when we had him out cold we took a sample of DNA from Cyber." Abe mentioned Cyber for the first time by his name. "It had yours, Rouge's, Sonic's, and an unknown one."

"Are you saying... That he's like a combination of us!?" Rouge exclaimed, the commander nodded.

"That means he has all our traits!" Shadow stood up, he was related to Cyber not just by a lose family tree, but by blood.

"How is this possible?!" Rouge shouted at Abraham, demanding an answer.

"Cloning, he has the strength and Chaos link with Shadow, Speed and endurance of Sonic, some ability from the mystery person that I assume is the telekinesis side, and something from Rouge."

If what he said was true, Eggman had created the true Ultimate Lifeform, the Ultimate Soldier. But he himself didn't know it. He gave him incredible power, but what would it be used for, unknown. Both horrifying and reliving. For now, both were in shock.

"So you're saying..." Rouge spoke up again, uneasily due to the sudden news. "We're all related, and he has our strengths?"

"And your weaknesses, he doesn't fear water like Sonic though, but did you find his attraction to gems? That must be you, Rouge. And he compresses his true feelings too, that can't be healthy. That part is you and Shadow."

"You make good observations, commander." Shadow stated.

"What are you suggesting, that we make a trap for the kid with some shiny Emerald?" Rouge said sarcastically, then started to stop and really ponder on it.

"I don't think anyone in your bloodline can resist that." Shadow commented, that was probably true.

"There is an old Eggman Base, if we can use that as a trap, we'll catch Cyber and possibly the other heroes." Abraham explained.

"So that's the plan." Abraham nodded to Shadow, they were dismissed and they both left, in the halls Shadow had to ask a question. "Why do you think Eggman took your DNA?"

"Probably nothing, just to hide the real identity I guess." She shrugged it off. "And he probably found it convenient too since I was fighting at the time."

"Oh, I guess nothing special then." They parted ways at an intersection of a hall, Rouge stood there nervously. She'd grown up in a family with rich history in magic far back. Maybe those tales her grandmother told her by the fireplace were true, of her ancestors being reality rippers and warpers. She shrugged it off though and left, and went to the woods not too far.

"It's true, they have to be." She picked up a crystal that laid on the ground, she had hundreds of these already, all the same type. They were common, but now they were unusual and seemed to have no purpose. Her family was linked with these gems, and maybe they still are, maybe this was why she took all the shiny crystals she hoarded. This link couldn't be broken, and he only strengthened it. Maybe he knew how to use these, there's only one way to find out.

And with that she flew off.
