Collages love to see an student that takes actuation in school and outside school. You can archive this by joining after school clubs. There are a variety of clubs. This will show your committed and abilities in collage applications. Also, it can also be done by creating your own clubs. It can be support clubs for other subjects or some cool activities. 

However, you also have to learn how to balance school and outside activities. I know it by experience. Your education always comes first, so if you have a test to study for: study for it. Outside school activities look good in collage applications. The key to balance it is time management. So, once you see you can manage your time successfully, then you have done good. Do not stress yourself though. If you see things are difficult to balance and you are in your breaking point; take a decision of chosing one of them and maybe changing the activity. If you stress, you will become anxious and this can lead to panic attacks; and I do not want you to have panic attack.
