Hanji's POV

After another tutoring session with Levi, Mom picked us up and dropped Levi back at his house. On the way back home, Mom began to talk to break the strange silence. "So, you still haven't explained who he is. I doubt he's just some boy you met."

"He is, Mom. As I told you yesterday, he's someone I'm helping tutor. I don't know besides him being friends with Erwin. You remember Erwin- we met his parents during a student council meeting. Just a friend."

Mom laughs softly, shaking her head. "You said the same about Moblit. The last thing I know, you're dating him. I need to be sure there isn't any news that'll surprise your dad and me. What else do you know about him? Same grade as you? Older? Younger? Seeing his height at this age, I would think he's the same age as you... but his face... he looks older."

"I think Erwin said he's the same age as him... so... maybe around 17? He's older than me- his homework is all-around 11th-grade stuff. That I know for sure."

"Okay then."

"Do you work again tonight?"

"Yes. Your father as well."

"Why is it so much?" I grumbled. Ever since we moved to this area for their new jobs, they've been working every day. I hardly have time to talk to them. "Maybe you guys should find another job."

"We're getting paid extra for those extra hours, Hanji. Besides, it's an important project that the CEO is planning."

My eyes rolled slightly, "Yeah... world domination. What's he trying to do this time? Make a serum to make people younger? Or make them live longer? Or bankrupting all small companies? Maybe you should quit and find another job."

Mom shook her head, "I know... I know you don't like it, but right now, they pay their employees a lot. Maybe the next CEO would change everything."

"It's probably just some other old guy wanting to get money."

"Not from the rumors I heard," Mom says, stopping at a red light. "The CEO passes his role down to someone else in the family. So it's always family operated. Currently, the CEO has to retire soon. And he'll pass it down to a family member."

"That sounds stupid... sounds like a monarchy."

"But it means the next one won't be some old man. It'll be someone younger."

"And I wonder what their name is."

"Their name's not going to be revealed until they come of age. The only thing that's stopping the CEO from retiring is because the successor is still underage. All I hope is that the next one won't be like the current. Anyways, do you want pizza for dinner?"

I nod my head, "Sounds fine. Mom, if the next one is just like the current CEO, promise you and Dad will quit your jobs and find someone else?"

"I can't make promises, but we'll see."

Levi texted me again, asking for more help. For someone who is friends with Erwin, he needs help. Either that or he's looking for excuses to be with me. From what I know, he's very... shy. I think he just wants to be my friend. It's alright with me.

"Sorry for bothering you tonight." He texted me, and I laughed gently at it. For an awkward boy, he's a little adorable. Strange, awkward, adorable. What kind of boy is he?
