how could he have thought that kissing steve when he was dating sharon was ever a good idea  ?    steve had stubbornly told him that they'd talk when they got home , but that talk never happened  .

because bucky locked himself in his room  ,  his heart feeling like it had shattered into a million pieces  .  and after three days of sobbing and wishing that he'd never kissed the blonde ( not that he regretted it  –  he just didn't like the look steve gave him after the kiss was over with  )  ,  he finally came out of his room .

telling steve that he wanted everything to go back to the way it was .  bucky pinning after him like a lovesick puppy  ,  and steve being happy with sharon .

but he hadn't slept for awhile , because nightmares always plagued his mind and he usually needed steve to calm him down  .

and he knew ( thought ) steve wanted nothing to do with him  .  but he had not expected to wake up from a nightmare in tears and in steve's arms .
