2014   ,   hydra had just ' killed ' fury .  so bucky's following steve since he was assigned to be his " bodyguard . "   in all honesty  ,   bucky was the one that needed protecting  ,  because hydra could still make him snap  .  but after he saw pierce and was turned into the winter soldier   ,  he'd fought steve for a bit before the blonde eventually snapped him out of it .  so now he was sitting on the bed of a guest room of sam's house , biting his lip as he looks at steve .
❛  do you know why fury assigned me to you now  ,  or do i need to spell it out to you that i'm a monster that needs to be kept in check  ?  ❜ 

his army group  ,  the 36th  , had been assigned to help the avengers mop up hydra once again  .  through some drinks  ,  everyone had gotten to know each other  ,  though bucky kept blushing whenever steve was close to him   ━   he'd grown to have a crush on him  .   but they were going to go up against hydra tomorrow morning  ,  and bucky couldn't help the anxiety in his chest  . so he took a quick breather , walking around the muddy grounds in just his bare feet  .  like he used to do on his family's farm .
though when he saw steve  ,  the brunette had begun blushing as he approached him  .  ❛  shouldn't you be asleep cap ?  ❜
