A New Perspective

The wind swished forcefully past Bucky's ears as he ran hurriedly towards his best pal who had suddenly disappeared from sight; Steve. Steve was always getting bullied, which was not very surprising, considering his small height and low weight. But sometimes, he just couldn't help getting extremely upset over the people who teased him, and Bucky knew this.

Bucky's heart couldn't stand to see his friend being beaten up, and he often wondered if people would be the same way towards him if he was smaller. Besides, the older guy thought Steve was quite adorable, especially when Bucky cracked one of his jokes, resulting in his friend to smile his gorgeous smile. But his laugh was even more of a wonder, and very beautiful indeed, whether Bucky would admit it to anyone or not, it was definitely a secret joy of his.

Suddenly, an obnoxious voice started yelling, interrupting the brunette from his rather homosexual thoughts.

"Shut up, faggot!" shouted the source of the rude voice, which was coming from the block just ahead.

Bucky's breath hitched in sudden terror as he realized that the bully was towering over Steve, the very person he was looking for. It appeared as though his pal had gotten into another one of his little fights, and the brunette wasn't so keen about that. No one hurts his Steve, no one.

As soon as the tall bully was about to start throwing punches at his victim, Bucky leapt forward, almost knocking down the asshole who dared mess with Steve.

"What the hell-" started the stranger, getting cut off by a well aimed punch on his right cheek.

"LEAVE HIM ALONE," yelled Bucky, face red with hot rage, as he pinned down the guy to the nearest brick wall.

The stranger spat in his face. "Why should I?"

Bucky showed the guy a twisted smirk, and spoke dangerously in his left ear, "Because, asswipe, if you dare speak to him again, I will find you and hunt you down. You won't be too thrilled to see what happens after that, is that clear?"

The tall stranger was quite terrified, but tried to speak evenly as if to show Bucky that he was as strong as he looked, "Yes, I'll leave him alone..."

Bucky gave the man a disgusted sneer, let him go, and turned around to face Steve, who was staring at him in complete awe.

"Bucky, I- You didn't have to do that, I could've gotten him myself."

The older guy shook his head playfully. "We both know that's not true, Stevie," Bucky said as he gave his friend a comforting pat on the back.

Steve shrugged and grinned slightly at the sudden touch. "Jerk."

"Punk," replied the brunette with a teasing smile.

There was a unexplainable moment where the two men held eye contact and didn't talk, but it wasn't  too awkward. It was more like a feeling of an unusual sort of tension. Before Bucky could control himself, he shuffled forwards, and placed his hands on Steve's shoulders, causing the shorter man's breath to hitch slightly.

"Stevie?" questioned Bucky a little uncertainly. "What would you do if I kissed you?"

The older man mentally slapped himself. Who was he to think that Steve actually liked him back? As he opened his mouth to apologize, the unexpected, but very much welcome sound of his crush speaking interrupted him.

"How about I kiss you instead, Buck?" said Steve, his voice slightly different than how it usually was.

This was definately not what Bucky expected, but he found himself blushing nevertheless.

"I'll take that as a yes," stated Steve with a smug little face. Suddenly, he jumped into Bucky's arms, while giving him a quick smooch on the lips.

Seconds later, Steve pulled away, blushing like crazy. The brunette smirked at him, and rearranged his hat quite awkwardly.

"It's a wonder no one saw us," mumbled Bucky.

This time Steve smirked. "It wouldn't have mattered. All that matters now is that you're mine now."

Bucky blushed, and the way that the blonde looked at him made his heart melt. "I'm glad I have you too, Stevie."
