Seventy One: Freedom and Love
"So you're saying.. Soyeon and Jiwoo live here now?" Taehyung was stunned. It's not like he was against it-- he loved to see them suffer more than him.
Maybe this was just something he least expected to happen.
"Yeah. They were transferred after some settlement I did. No way I'll let them pay in jail only. I would like to get them taste their own medicines." Jungkook says, a proud smile on his face as he scoops Taehyung close by his shoulder. "Shall we?"
The omega takes a deep breath, closing his eyes before nodding his head. "Okay. I wanna see them anyways."
The two wolves made their way inside the institute, with the help of their company- their identity would be kept within the facility only, until they are both ready again to confess their bond with each other.
"Jeons, please." Jungkook told the nurse incharge of the holding area. The omega beside him looks around the quiet area they were in-- no patients screaming nor thrashing around the halls, just like what he often sees in the movies he watch.
"It's quiet." He spoke his thoughts aloud, caressing his baby bump. "I thought mental hospitals are chaotic.."
"They keep patients in their room in this kind of hospital. Of course- that was my order as I told them I have a pregnant partner coming with me." Jungkook smiles, reaching to interwine his hands with Taehyung- giving it an assuring squeeze as they let silence talk, waiting for the call of approval with them meeting the two patients.
After a few minutes in the holding area, a nurse approaches them. "Permitted sir. Nurses will be nearby just incase this gets out of hand. Patient Jiwoo seems too violent upon the news of your visit."
Taehyung's breath hitched. He squeezes Jungkook's hand that made the alpha look back at him worriedly. "Is something wrong baby? I can cancel this one, we both know your health is important than them." He asks, placing his free hand ontop of their interwined ones- eyes locking with his mate's.
"I'm fine." He huffs out a shaky breath. "I will face them. I have you this time." His lips cracks into a smile, wanting to assure Jungkook he can handle himself and that he'll be stronger for his son.
"Alright. I'll be there with you." He kissed Taehyung's hand, before leading him to the small indoor garden where two patients in white were waiting.
As soon as Jiwoo notices the two by the glass entrance, she lets out a loud scream. "You! Get me out of here! I hate it here!" It was childish, as they all knew that it was impossible to commit.
"Well, hello to you too." Taehyung managed to speak sarcastic, watching how the male nurse had to hold Jiwoo in place as she wouldn't stop thrashing.
Soyeon however, was acting far from Jiwoo's perspective- she was quiet, yet her eyes was filled with disappointment and rage and had her gaze directed to Jungkook. This didn't bother the two wolves though. They were fine with the way they greet, it was normal as they were suffering inside a facility for mentally sick people.
"Been awhile, isn't it?" Taehyung carefully sat down a chair opposite to the two patients. "Just to share the good news here, I am healthy and so is our son." He matches his bitter sentence with a smile, which he knew annoyed Jiwoo according to how violent she was being.
"Why didn't you just fucking die?!" Jiwoo cried, with the nurse having no choice but to push her back to the chair, getting her to calm down even just for a little bit. "Because of you, I'm stuck here! In a place I never belong to!"
"Woah, watch your words Jiwoo." Jungkook laughs, raising an eyebrow. "No one dares to talk to my mate like that." He tries his approach to be a calm one yet his eyes were glaring.
"You fucker should side on me! I'm your sister!" Jiwoo says angrily. "Oh? You are? I'm sorry, but I don't have sister who wants to kill my mate and baby." He spat back, with Taehyung patting his shoulder to calm him down.
Soyeon never spoke a word however, staring at the teacup infront of her blankly. Not that she was insane-- maybe she was just not in the mood to argue like Jiwoo. It did scare Taehyung on how she acted, but he couldn't care less. Jungkook was by his side and it made him feel safer.
"Maybe Soyeon was right! Taehyung is nothing but a huge mistake on your damn life! Why did it have to be him?!" Jiwoo points her hand rudely to Taehyung who flinched by her approach, getting caught off guard as he didn't know how to reply. "Because of him and that baby-- the Jeon's generation plan wouldn't be the same anymore!"
"That's what you all cared for!" Jungkook suddenly spoke, as if he had enough. "It was money. Our rank, the wealth we give and the reputation my dad had! You all cared for the riches and not the person! Not even me, who suffered being pressured for the fucking sake of Jeon's generation!" He gave off a scary vibe, his eyebrows furrowed as Taehyung got intimidated quickly by the way he had dominated the situation.
"I have no one to trust by myself. Not even you, Soyeon nor my own dad! What you all did was to push me to things you think was right even if it hurted me!" Jungkook had his fists clenched, with it shaking at how much angry he was. "I hated it. I hated the fact no one cared for my own feelings-- and Taehyung was the only one who understood what I have felt. Eversince we have met, he showed how much he wanted to support me- that he will be there to listen, for the very first time I felt happy."
Taehyung bit his lower lip. Jungkook blew off, and this had never happened before. He looked angry, but his eyes held an unexplainable expression.
Even the strongest wolf had its own weakness.
"I thought-- maybe, Taehyung was the one. He was there. He treated me the way I wanted, he showed me the things I longed to see and that was freedom and love." He glances at his mate who listened, shocked. "But it seemed to make you, Soyeon- unhappy. You never wanted me to be happy through my own ways- you always wanted it your way. So then you broke our relationship- pushing Taehyung out of my life and made me think that it was his fault."
"That it was all a fucking lie." Jungkook spat, "All my life I thought that Taehyung was pretending to sympathize me, the little me who had no one to hold onto and to rely on. I hated him for it, and it all went your way. You were happy yet I wasn't." He then took a deep breath before looking back at Soyeon who never even spared him a glance- maybe she was listening though.
"And you," Jungkook turns to Jiwoo. "Don't ever yell at me like you were there to see me grow up. You may be my sister through blood but that doesn't mean I have no rights on choosing how to act around you." This finally made Jiwoo speechless. The alpha then shakes his head- as if questioning why he suddenly blew off. "Let's go Taehyung. Visiting time is over, and I never want you to talk to them again."
Taehyung snaps off his thoughts, feeling Jungkook hold his hand. "I.. Uhm, okay.." He had no choice otherwise. He knew the boy was hurt from how he ranted out of the blue, and he wanted to comfort him in any way he could. The omega carefully stood up from his chair, their stay may be unpleasant, but it was satisfying to see the two big rivals of his life trapped in an institute.
Jungkook walks away with him, but when he passes by Soyeon- the old lady reached to hold him tightly by his arm. This made him gasp from the grip, with the nurse trying to pry it off.
"Because of you, this happened." She spoke with a stern tone. "If only you stepped out of Jungkook's life fully, this wouldn't have happened."
Once Taehyung pulled his arm away, he was pulled close to Jungkook- caressing his baby bump at the sudden contraction he felt.
"I wish you the best, Ms. Jeon." Taehyung says between the pain. "But I wouldn't let Jungkook get hurt anymore. He have been broken eversince he was young and hurting him all over again would only made me feel guilt." It was all that he said before leaving the area with his mate.
They both walked the long hallway in silence, with their shoes clicking the floor being the source of sound.
"I'm sorry Taehyung." Jungkook spoke by the time they reached the end of the hallway. "Maybe I had enough of them. I just had to say it to get the weight off my heart."
"You did what's right. Sometimes ranting makes a person feel better." Taehyung says with a soft smile, finally calming down the contraction. "And a little comfort from someone they love the most."
Jungkook couldn't help but smile at this, stopping from his tracks as he kissed Taehyung's forehead. "Thank you Taehyung. You listened and loved me."
"Don't thank me." He chuckles before tiptoeing to peck his mate's soft lips. "I was meant to love you and show something you have yearned the most." He then locked his arm to Jungkook's.
"That is freedom." Taehyung smiles wider. "You're free now, Jungkook ah. Be yourself and don't be scared anymore. No one would be there to pressure you.."
"But I will be always here to support you during the times you need it the most."
