chapter three;
the girlfriend

IT HAD BEEN TWO DAYS SINCE SHE MOVED IN. Already, she'd fixed her bedroom to look exactly as she wanted and gone out grocery shopping to fill the fridge, freezer and the cupboards belonging to her. Billie was sitting in the living room, a book in her hand and a coffee mug on the little glass coffee table that was covered in scratches. She heard the door unlock and she looked over her shoulder as Timothée and a gorgeous woman stepped into the flat. Billie's eyes and the girl's locked onto each other and immediately the room felt 10 degrees colder.

"You must be Billie," The girl says. She was gorgeous, long blonde hair was covered by a plain black beanie, her body was covered with a floral shirt, a leather jacket, some skinny jeans and pair of knee high boots. She was perfectly carved, curved in the right places, and her face was stunning. She had a button nose, shaped brows and perfectly red painted lips. Billie was awestruck.

"That's correct," Billie replies, she places her bookmark into her book and rests it on the sofa before standing up and walking round, holding out her hand, "Its a pleasure to meet you,"

"You too," The girl replies, shaking Billie's offered hand firmly, "I'm Catherine by the way, Tim's girlfriend,"

"Oh," Billie mumbles, he hadn't mentioned her when she'd told him about Zac the previous evening, Billie sends a false smile to Timmy and back to Catherine, "Of course,"

"I love your lipstick," Catherine says, "I see I'm not the only red fan,"

"Oh, haha, yeah, I-er- I always wear it," Billie shrugs, it was then she caught a glance of herself in the mirror, her hair was messily tugged back into a low ponytail and her clothes were grey loose joggers and a loose comfy sweater, on her feet her cat slippers. She was yet to take off her makeup from her shift at the coffee shop today.

"We were just popping back so I could grab a coat," Timothée interrupts, feeling the growing tension in the room, "I'll just grab it and then we can go,"

"Right, yeah," Billie nods, "What have you guys been up to?"

Timothée leaves the room and Catherine smiles, Billie could tell it was a fake one.

"We just went shopping, Timothée spoils me soo much you see, he bought me flowers and chocolates when he came to pick me up and then while we were out he bought us a fab lunch and me some new boots," She turns her foot outwards, striking an elegant pose as he showed off her boots, "What do you think?"

"Gorgeous," Billie nods, and she turns to look at Timothée when he walks back into the room, this time donning a knee length black coat that worked well with his choice of black turtleneck, black jeans and black boots. She says a silent thank you in her mind, he'd saved her from the awkwardness of the conversation she was forced to have with his girlfriend she'd previously had no clue about.

"Right lets go, we have a reservation to make," Timothée says, smiling at Catherine. She smiles back before pressing a kiss to his lips. Billie can't stop the automatic eyebrow raise she does, and the turn to look away. She looks back once its over.

"Hope you both have fun," Billie smiles. They thank her before they leave, locking the door behind them.

Billie lets out a deep sigh, checking the time on her phone- dinner time. She walks over to the kitchenette and picks out something for tonight- pasta. As she was preparing her meal, she couldn't help wonder why Timothée hadn't mentioned Catherine when they'd spoken about Zac for a brief moment the previous day. Perhaps it was because he knew she'd be so cold towards Billie or perhaps he just forgot in the moment, or perhaps he simply didn't see it as any of her business. Whichever reason it was, it was bugging Billie and her nosey trait.

A few hours later, at about 11:30, Billie was cuddled up in her newly made bed, careful not to shift around to much due to the creaking. She'd been looking at job options online for the past hour, already tired of her coffee shop job. She lets out a loud yawn and puts a movie she had no real interest in, on her laptop, putting it on the bed beside her so she could lie down and get cosy, not really caring if she fell asleep while it was playing. Just as the movie starts up, she hears the front door unlock, and muffled giggles fill the otherwise quiet flat. The laughter moves through to the bedroom next door- Timothée and Catherine were back. Billie lets out a sigh, hearing them laughing together as a couple made her feel bad for blowing off Zac two nights in a row. It wasn't that she didn't want to see him, it was more that she didn't want to have to see his reaction to her living with a guy. She didn't want an argument.

The giggling continues for a little longer, and quiet whispers follow. After about 10 minutes, soft moans begin. Billie rolls her eyes, she thought she'd left behind hearing other people having sex at her friend's apartment- but no, it was still haunting her. She turns up the volume on the film, but still, the moans get louder. A pang of jealously runs through her, she just wanted someone to make her moan like Catherine was next door. Zac was a little selfish when it came to sex, and though Billie usually didn't mind, she was hearing all these girls having incredible sex around her. She couldn't help but feel a little envious. Eventually, it all calmed down in the room next door, and slowly, Billie joined them in the land of dreams.

Thank you for reading and i hope you enjoyed!

Honestly I haven't felt this inspired for a book in a very long time!
Also this is one of the first times where I don't really care about reads as much- its more about the enjoyment i have of writing it, and the enjoyment the few loyal readers have from it!
