☆• Yashimi POV •☆
Sensing Giyū, I ignore the pain and stand up. "Come on, Yashimi! You have to save Tanjiro!" My voice encourages me.
"There's a chance that he might find me. Might as well go to Tanjiro and try to save him."
I finally stand up straight after struggling but then catch my fall with the tree. I breathe even more heavily, trying to ease the pain.
"I have to be fast! Come on, Yashimi! You were a pupil of Daisuke-sama. He needs you to do this.!"
I looked at where Tanjiro was and sprinted my way, applying less pressure on the broken ankle.
I jump using my other ankle and land on a tree branch and then another and another.
I jump again and again, from one tree branch to another, desperately trying to get to Tanjiro while also trying to get away from Tomioka-sama as I didn't wanna get in trouble with him.
Even though I will get in trouble with him, that'd be a problem for future Yashimi.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After running for a few minutes, the familiarity of burgundy hair and green-black patterned haori catches my eye, and I retreat my movement to jump and look at Tanjiro's head direction It's as if he's staring at something.
I look at his head direction. There's another demon?..! Two demons. They looked similar to twins.
They look just like Siu, but only one of their eyes were fully covered by their hair. One has his left eye covered, and the other has his right eye covered.
There's also another girl. She didn't look like them, but they looked like siblings.
I sense the tension in the air. What happened? The girl is on the ground covering her face with her palms? Why is there blood in front of her?
Suddenly, the one with his left eye covered threads a web and shots it at Tanjiro.
Tanjiro jumps back effortlessly as they continue to thread webs. One web after another. Tanjiro rolls back and dodges another web.
He's about to be cut by the other webs. "Tanjiro!" I jump from the tree and towards him, dodging the oncoming webs.
"What's this?"
"What.. who..?"
Tanjiro and I bump into a tree, sending pain throughout my body. "Ah!" I let out a pained yelp. God, it hurt like hell.
"Fujimura-san! Nezuko!" He yells our names. He carries his sister, and we run to a nearby tree for coverage.
"You could've gotten hurt!" Worry plasters on his face. "But I didn't. And plus, you were about to be cut by another web behind you." My voice comes out weak from the impact.
"Fujimura-san, Arigatō." The corners of his lips turn upward a little. He turns to Nezuko, still holding her severed forearm. "Nezuko.." And with that sad word, his mouth turns downward. "I'm sorry you had to defend me back there.." His guilt glints in his eyes.
"She should be fine. She's a strong demon." My voice reassures Tanjiro.
"You.." A voice quivers. "Are you three siblings?" The twin demon's voices collide in unison.
"So, what?!" Tanjiro's eyebrows furrow in anger, looking at the two. I see distraught and panick in his eyes, as well as the same guilt that lingers in his eyes from before.
Tanjiro's eyes widen when the other demon mumbles something. "Wait.. wait a moment!" A yell catches our attention. I assume it's the same girl who was covering her face with blood underneath.
"Please wait! I'm still your guys' older sister! Don't give me up like that!" She defensively yells. As if desperate. Why, though?
"SHUT UP."
My ears catch a few trees being cut down and fallen to the ground. I turn to them. My eyes widen at the familiar scene.
"Why is this demon so angry at her? This aura.. it isn't a typical anger towards your siblings." Mental note writes it in my head.
"In the end, you failed to do your mission. Every. Last. One." The other demon says lowly. It feels like he's slowly going insane. I could practically see veins popping from his face as he did not turn to look at the girl.
Her eyes pop in fear. Visibly shaking if you look closer. "Wait..!! I-I'm your sister! I-I'll protect you, guys! Let me make it up to you two!" Her voice punches the tension in the air as her head lays still on the ground. Between her eyebrows are creased lines of desperation.
"In that case.." The other demon, with his right eye covered, slowly turns to the ground, "go and kill all of those people squirming around the mountain." His voice says, soft but demanding.
"A-alright." Her upper body attaches itself from the lower body and grabs her head, "I'll kill them all." Running away, with her kimono following her movements behind. Her aura is so terrified that it makes me think that maybe these are lower moons.
"Kid."
"Hey, kid.!"
They both call out with a calm, happy smile. A smile that can be confusing whether they really are enemies or friends.
Their switch is quick and surprising.
"Kid, let's talk."
"Come out, will you?"
"We have a proposal to offer."
Proposal? Offer? Is it necessary to have a proposal in the middle of a battlefield?
"Kid? Talk?" Tanjiro whispers. He seems to be slowly going insane as I turn to him, glancing at his young face, burning in anger.
Both of them place an opposing arm on their chest, still with a confusingly calm smile. "We are really touched by the bond that you have." Both say in unison, their voices soft and gentle like a calm wave washing over the shore.
"It really is sweet to see the way they defended you."
"The way they swiftly protected you. We can't help but make our heart flutter, right, Rui?"
"Indeed, Jui. I believe there are no words to explain the emotion we are feeling."
Their smile. It's so gentle and calm yet so full of murderous intentions. One can say they are. Obsessed.
"Jui. Rui. Why are those names fami— oh, right. They're Siu's older brothers. Right? They must be triplets because of how similar they are." The familiarity of them hits a bulb. "That's why they're so familiar. You three are triplets. Aren't you?" A whisper low enough to not cut the agonizing tension.
Tanjiro pulls Nezuko closer to his body protectively. A hand behind her head and another behind her back. A furrow still visible on his face.
"Despite the feelings, we do still have to finish you three off." Rui says, sadness wrapping a little around his tone, but not much.
"But, there is one way. And only one way to avoid this little fate." Jui's mouth stretches out even more, creeping us out. Something is rambling in their mind.
Something.. insane, probably. Definitely.
"Give us the two girls." Jui says softly, but even with that soft voice, there's a tone of demanding instead of asking. "If you do that. We will let you off the hook." Rui says as he and Jui reach out their hands expectantly.
Tanjiro uncomfortably shifts to the outrageous request, his red eyes widening. My eyes roam to Tanjiro's widened eyes, gazing at his soul, perhaps. I can see horror-filled eyes mixing with terror.
Rui has a soft, small smile while Jui has a wider and eerie smile. Both plastering in their face, giving a creepy vibe.
"I.. don't get what you mean.." His voice visibly shakes from fear. I think he knows what Rui and Jui mean. He just doesn't want to accept it.
"We want them,"
"To be our sisters. Starting today."
Nezuko slightly tilts her head up, glancing at Tanjiro. "There's no damn way I'll easily hand them to you! Nezuko is not a commodity. She is conscious and can think on her own!" Anger arouses in his aura.
"And Fujimura-san is a human and would not want to be a demon. She is a capable woman and will never want to be your sister. Both of them will never be your sister!" Tanjiro angrily yells, his eyebrows slanting with rage by the twin demon's request.
"Relax, there's no need to worry," Rui's eye squinted in amusement. "We will create a bond between us. We're stronger than you. I'm talking about the bond of terror." Jui's eye also squinted, making him more creepy as he clasps his hands in joy.
"We'll teach them what happens if they defy us. We'll—"
"I've had enough of this stupid, crazy talk!" Tanjiro leaves Nezuko to lean on the tree as he stands up and walks to the open spot, facing Rui and Jui.
He quickly unsheath his sword, pointing it at both demons. My eyes pop from the realization. Tanjiro's sword is broken, not just chipped a little but very much cut in half. "Wait.. he's nichirin blade is broken..?! He can't do shit with a broken sword!" My face turns into a worried, feared look.
"You blind people are using terror. That's not what family bond is! If you don't know where you went wrong about bonding, then the bond you two desire the most will never come to you willingly!" Tanjiro's grip seems to tighten on his midnight handle.
I look over to the two demons, wanting to see their reaction.
Their head faces the dead, green grass. "You are so annoying. It's annoying." Both voices collide in unison, in harmony.
"Screaming is not a necessity, you know?" Rui says, his voice seem to drag in the depth of darkness. "We don't see eye to eye, do we?" Jui's face darkly tilts a little up, obviously infuriated.
"I'll never give them away to your hands. Under your command." Tanjiro glares daggers at them. Sweat swimming on his forehead. Is it because he's scared and angry?
"That's alright. We'll kill you and take both. That's not a problem."
"I'll chop both of your heads before you can even touch them. Before you do anything." Tanjiro's voice grew louder, covered by anger. Just anger.
"Ara ara, what powerful words." Jui chuckles.
"Let's see if you walk the talk.." They tilt their head up as Rui uncovers his covered eye, revealing the number of a lower moon 5.
"Let's see if you can defeat my brother. A member of the lower moons." Jui grins happily, fully expecting to win. No doubts cover his eyes even for a second.
"A lower moon..!?"
