•38• 3rd arc: An Eerily Quiet, Now Lively Estate •38•

☆•Yashimi POV•☆

"Tomioka-samaaaaaa." I call out and turn my head, meeting a pair of soft blue sapphire eyes, man leaning against the shoji frame as I stuff my things into a thick white bag that I have been saving for a day like this.

After I changed into my usual demon slayer uniform, with my sword on my hilt, and the wisteria hairpin on my hair as a half-up and half-down style.

I started packing for my things with Tomioka-sama waiting next to the shoji for me, looking bored.

Although I tried telling him I'll be fine and that Kibutsuji won't be able to get me, he still insisted on staying by me.

Looks like he is more paranoid than I am right now.

"Yes, Fujimura?" He raises an eyebrow, lightly making his way towards me, his footsteps a dull, silent pattern.

"Which plant should I take?" A mischievous smile plays on the corners of my lips as I lift up two small plants.

A small pot of chrysanthemum and another small pot of yellow roses. I have been taking care of them ever since I moved in this room (after destroying the other one. Turns out these two were the surviving living thing).

"None." He says, not taking a slight gaze at the lifted flowers, and I look at him. An eyebrow raised at his nonchalant and immediate answer. It's as if he was waiting for this moment. "What?"

"Fujimura must have not heard me." He turns to me, looking down at me. "I said.. none."

"Why not? If you won't pick one, I'll just pick the wisteria."

"Just don't."

"... but why?? Just pick which one!!"

"No, because.. because I'll buy you different flowers for your room."

I gasp, immediately putting two of the pots down as a wide smile immediately replaces the frown on my face.

"Tom–"

"Shut it and hurry up." He says, turning and walking away, but I can feel his aura getting flustered and embarrassed.

A giggle escapes from my throat as a scenario of Tomioka-sama handing me rose flowers plays in my mind.

"Silly, Tomioka." I whisper under my breath, my heart slightly pounding against my chest. As if wanting to rip itself from my body.

"Don't call me silly!"

"EH!?"

★•Giyuu POV•★

Sweat glistens on our foreheads and around our necks as we walk towards the Water Estate. Kanzaburo and Itsukori flies in the sky above us, seemingly enjoying the fresh, hotness of the heat.

"Itsukori and Kanzaburo look so cute together." Fujimura comments turning to me for my reply. Instead, I just look straight ahead.

"Yeah.. they do look cute together." I say, readjusting the kinchaku bag that I sling over my head.

I had offered to carry the kinchaku bag for her because it's what Tsutako would've wanted me to do for both of them.

The silhouette of the water estate soon comes to our sight, making Fujimura excited. "Aahh! The water estate! It always looks so nice." She says.

I slide my irises to her, seeing her aura brighten up like the clouded sun except with no clouds. "I'm so excited to officially live with you, Tomioka-sama." She says as we near the estate.

"Hmm, yeah, I am too, Fujimura." I say, my eyes positioning into a more lively, rounded lid up attitude. Looking at the silver haired beside me makes me feel somewhat better these days.

I think.. no, I know I made a good decision to let her live in my estate. I hope she'll feel safer and better. I'll kill that man, Kibutsuji, if he ever nears her again. He isn't worth the stare.

"We're here." I announce as we step inside after entering the gates. "Kanzaburo, you should get some rest." I say, looking over at Kanzaburo as he places himself on my shoulder.

Fujimura reaches out to her crow, and it lands on her out-reached index. "You too, Itsukori. I feel bad for letting you fly so much." Fujimura strokes her free index onto the kasugai's head. "Your head is pretty hot, hm?" Her voice is full of worry and sadness.

"Uhm.." I catch her attention, and her face immediately directs to me. Looking at her, I can see that she really is short like Kochou. Is that why she's easy to tire herself out?

Because she uses all of her strength. She doesn't just stabs. She slices her opponents with her nichirin blade.

I heard from the butterfly assistants that she's trying out Kochou's poisons to help her. I hope it goes well.

"Your room is here. Come, Fujimura." I walk towards the further room from us with Fujimura behind me. "It's where you will sleep. I apologize because it's not too comfortable.." I say as I open the shoji for her.

"No.. It's perfect, Tomioka-sama!!" She jumps and excitedly goes inside, and I went after her.

I hand the kinchaku bag to her and point to a tansu (drawer for clothes, etc.) on one of the corners. "That's where you will put your stuff and nichirin blade."

"You will use a futon because I couldn't find a perfect bed for you, and I wasn't having it with their attitude."

A chuckle cuts me off before I can continue. "Tomioka-sama, did you plan this? After knowing that that man invaded your home, you immediately decided that I should live in here?" She asks.

"..."

"I'M CORRECT!!" She laughs, and her sounds of laughter coming out of her lips catch my attention, and I look up at her. Her silver hair still shines even under the roof, and her loud, cheery presence lits up the entire room.

"You really are something, aren't you, Fujimura."

☆•Yashimi POV•☆

"Did you say something, Tomioka-sama?" I ask after a whisper lightly goes out of his lips. I must've made the room even more gloomy and loud with my presence.

"No. Nothing." His face twists into a strict expression. "I'll be back later. I have to go somewhere." He says.

"Wait!" I grip onto his red-colored part of his haori. "What do you want me to do?"

"Everything you love." He says and walks away, leaving my body stun. "Everything I love?" I look down at my white bag.

"I know." I say. I close the door after hearing the main door close and change into a more comfortable clothing. "I'll clean the entire house, and I'll cook his favorite foods!" I happily thought.

I take my mask off, fully knowing that he won't be here anytime soon. I go out of my room and to the lavatory, getting the cleaning supplies.

---

"The estate is not as dirty as I thought it would be." I say after putting the cleaning supplies back. I had done a thorough cleaning and stopped when it was lunchtime.

The estate wasn't as dirty as I thought it would be. I look at the clock on the wall above the shoji. "4:45 p.m." I whisper out.

"Itsukori went out a few hours back. He should be here soon to deliver a mission." I walk towards the kitchen going to cook for our dinner.

♣︎•3rd POV•♣︎

The clock strikes 6:00 pm, and the open of the main shoji catches Yashimi's attention as she immediately grabs her kitsune mask from the table.

"A-ah! Tomioka-sama." Yashimi quickly finishes setting the table. Her heterochromatic eyes meet blue sapphires staring at her, slightly tired from the point of view of Yashimi's sense of presence.

"You're just in perfect time. I have prepared your food." She smiles, knowing that Giyuu wouldn't be able to see it. "Oh.. thank you, Fujimura." Giyuu says as he walk towards the dining table, and both of them take their seats.

"Actually, I.." Giyuu places his hand towards Yashimi, revealing a dozen red Camillias. A gasp escapes Yashimi's throat as surprise fills her.

"Where.. where did you get these? Aren't these rare, Tomioka-sama??" Yashimi cups her mask's cheek with her right hand and her left hand, pointing towards the red flowers.

"Yeah. I bought it from someone. I told you, didn't I?" He hands her the small pot of red Camellia's. "I told you, I will buy you different t flowers for your new room." Giyuu says, a slight tint of red spreads across his cheeks.

Meanwhile, Yashimi looks proud and happy holding the pot in her hands, looking at it as if it were the most precious thing in her entire life.

"Kuwaaahh!! Tomioka-sama, thank you so much!!" Yashimi deeply bows in gratitude for the flowers.

"It's fine. Let's just eat because your food is getting cold." Giyuu says, his voice nonchalant and distant.

"Itadakimasu!"

"Itadakimasu."

Both of them eat as Yashimi tells him about what had happened while he was away, and he listens intently as if it were Oyakata-sama, but she isn't.

To him, she is Fujimura Yashimi. The girl he recently gave flowers to. A dozen red Canellia's. Flowers that brought her face a smile even if he couldn't see it, but he knew.

From the voice that Yashimi spoke, he knew a simple gift would make her happy, and that was all he wanted for her.

To be happy by his side. Though he knows it won't happen so he will enjoy Yashimi's time at his side. In his house.

"I also saw a spider in the lavatory! I tried to get it to put it outside but it suddenly disappeared!!" Yashimi says, sadness rolling on her tongue.

"Yeah, no, I'll kill any spiders that'll appear next time.."

Deep into the woods, a pair of red eyes stares at the two. Jealousy and hatred building up. Oh, how Kibutsuji Muzan wanted to kill Tomioka Giyuu for placing her inside his home.

His hands curl up into a fist, but he'd control himself. Fully confident that he would be able to capture Yashimi where no one would know or predict when he'd strike.

He wanted Fujimura Yashimi all to himself. And he hated Giyuu for that. He'd have Yashimi if it's the last thing he'll do in this broken, accursed world.
