Ending
hi everyone that's . . . still alive. i've decided that i didn't want to leave you all on a cliffhanger because that's just unfair. this part will include ideas that i had for this book that i unfortunately could not put into 2500+ worded chapters for you all to read. ik i've been sitting on this for too long but whatever!!
also i'm going to age Soarin and Dash up . . . they are now both 17 years old, with Dash turning 17 not long before the first chapter. Soarin is kind of an early born, since he turned 17 a few months prior. I feel like it just works better. 16 is just too young and 18 is too old. plus if i made them 18, that would leave a huge plot hole in the story, so yea no.
onto the summary!
SUMMARY
Day 18 and Day 19 were meant to be a little . . . nsfw (not safe for work), hence the mature rating. I had a lot of mixed feelings about writing it because it would have just been to soon and they're kids, so . . . yeah. There's another reason as to why but I'm not gonna state it here.
After Day 19, I was planning on just letting you guys suggest what the two of them should do, and I would just write about it. Evidently, that did not work out. I thought it would be really cool but my motivation really went 📉. It literally took me years to write this ending.
A few days later, online school started for the two teens. They coincidentally have most of their classes together, so they shared one laptop each of those classes. Their mic and camera were always off unless it was absolutely necessary.
2 weeks after the nineteenth day, Rainbow Dash's mom calls to tell her that she had contracted Equis. The news is heartbreaking to Dash, and she's afraid that her mom might not make it, despite her mom being in relatively good health. She hides her true emotions from everyone else because she doesn't want to be viewed as weak. She doesn't even tell Soarin about it until he notices her acting gloomy. Later on, Soarin has to teach her that it's okay to grieve and that it doesn't make you weak to show emotion. To help her clear her mind, Soarin took Dash out for a short walk.
Remember in Day 12 when Soarin bumped into that old man in the grocery store? Well, that man had Equis, and now Soarin has Equis. His symptoms took longer than usual to show. He noticed himself feeling feverish and "chilly", so they went to the hospital to see what was going on. After he was diagnosed, the doctor instructed that Soarin isolates himself in his room for about two weeks so that he wouldn't infect anyone else.
Of course, this didn't sit well with Rainbow Dash at all. She hated the thought of having to be alone because she hated being alone. In fact, she probably hated it more than losing. What was even worse was that she just found out her mom caught the virus, and now her boyfriend has it too.
The teenage couple went home and parted ways. Soarin locked himself in his bedroom while Dash was free to roam the house. They both felt like a significant part of them was ripped away as they separated.
For the past week, Dash had been leaving food, water, and snacks in front of Soarin's door. He would only come out once a day to take a quick shower, then immediately goes back to his room. It was extremely boring, but Dash did the best she could to entertain him. She would FaceTime him, play games with him through their messages, and even watched movies with him. But it just wasn't the same as them actually being together and doing those things.
After being quarantined for one and a half weeks, Soarin's symptoms relieved themselves. He was feeling so much better, and he was reassured that his days of isolation would soon be over. He just hoped his girlfriend could hold on for just a while longer.
Rainbow Dash, on the other hand, was close to insanity. She's been alone in the house for what seemed like forever, and she hated it. She hated being alone (i am repeating this for emphasis). Despite her constantly being on a FaceTime call with Soarin, it just wasn't enough. She needed some TLC and his actual presence, not just his face through a phone screen.
She ends up actually going to Soarin's room, all out of impulse. He wasn't even confirmed to be healed yet, but she went anyway. When Soarin sees her in his room, he panics and somehow bribes her to leave because he was afraid she'd get sick because of him.
Okay, I've been talking about Dash being lonely for too long, so I'm moving on.
Soarin finally recovers from his illness, and the teenage couple are now happily spending time with each other. Unfortunately, Mrs. Whistles (Dash's mom) was still sick. Her condition was relatively worse than Soarin's, and she had to spend a lot of time in the hospital.
Rainbow was not aware of how severe her mom's condition was until Mr. Hot Hoof (her father) told her over the phone, so she became frustrated when she found out. Why did her father wait so long to tell her? Why did the Skies not tell her either? Her mom's life was potentially at risk!
"I didn't tell you about her condition because didn't I want you to worry." Yes, that was his excuse. It only infuriated her more because it was such an awful reasoning for not telling her something. Now she's even more worried than she was before.
As expected, Dash spent the next few days worrying about her mom. What really sucked was that there was absolutely nothing she could do about it . . . except mope all day, of course.
Luckily, Mrs. Whistles ends up making a full recovery. Unfortunately, she was left with post-Equis syndrome, meaning she'd have chronic after effects from the disease. Dash wasn't sure whether she should rejoice that her mother was no longer sick, or continue moping because of the scar left on her mother's body. Despite being torn between the two, Soarin was there by Dash's side, holding her and allowing her to expel her emotions into him.
About 4 months later (July), cities are slowly reopening public spaces to citizens, allowing for them to get back to their "normal" lives with the exception of social distancing and Equis regulations. Restaurants weren't available for dine-in and some places for the sole purpose of entertainment were also closed.
Soarin thought it would be a great idea to invite a few of his friends over for a party, but Rainbow Dash was very opposed to the idea. This surprised him because she was literally a self proclaimed "party girl". Despite her wishes, Soarin invites his friends over anyway (without her knowing by the way!!). So now, there are unauthorized guests in her home partying away while she was trying to take a nap. She only knew they were there in the first place because she heard bass-y music from her room upstairs.
Dash initially rubs it off because she just assumed Soarin was playing his dumb music again, but then she heard the voices of other boys. So, an enraged Rainbow storms down the stairs and kicks them all out. She then goes on to yell at Soarin for being so irresponsible because not only does he know there is still an ongoing pandemic going on, but he has experienced the disease firsthand.
Okay here's a quick snippie:
"It's not that fucking deep, Dash. I already checked to make sure none of them had Equis before inviting them," Soarin protested. Dash is fuming now, appalled by how ignorant he sounded. He's smarter than that, right? There's no way he was this dumb.
"Not that deep!!?? First of all, this is my fucking house. You don't get to just bring people in here like you own the place." She slams the door behind the last person awkwardly leaving the house. "Secondly, you don't know where any of them have been! They may not have symptoms of Equis, but they can still carry the damn disease. And the audacity to bring strangers into my house without even asking me is so disrespectful, especially since you know that two people in my life have already caught the disease." At this point her eyes brimmed with tears of anger and betrayal.
Initially, Soarin didn't say anything because he'd checked out from her yelling, but the last sentence snapped him out of his daydream.
"We both made a full recovery from the disease. It's literally just a cold, babe. If you're afraid of catching Equis, just say so," he dared to respond.
Rainbow Dash just stood there with her mouth hanging in pure shock as the tears fell down her face. He didn't even apologize, she thought to herself. She watched as Soarin shuffled his feet awkwardly, almost as if he knew he said something wrong. Her mouth closed itself and she wiped her tears after letting out a disappointed sigh.
"I don't think I can trust you anymore." That was the last thing she said to him before heading to her room in silence. And he still didn't apologize.

Okay...back to the summary! That was their first official fight after they started dating. For an entire week, the two teens did not utter a single word to each other. Soarin knew he was in the wrong, but for some odd reason, his pride did not allow him to apologize. He only manned up to say something because he saw Dash leaving the house with luggage in her hands. That didn't stop her from leaving though, and she didn't tell him where she went either.
So another week goes by and Dash's whereabouts are still unknown. Soarin wanted to message her and ask, but he was afraid she'd blow him off . . . but, he did kind of deserve it.
It did give him a lot of time to think, though. What was he even thinking? Looking back, he didn't even recognize the Soarin that went behind his girlfriend's back and went against her wishes. Her time away from him made him wonder if she was planning on breaking up with him. He swore to himself that when he saw Rainbow Dash again, he would make sure she didn't leave him because he decided to be such a big idiot.
Dash returns in the middle of night, around 1am. Soarin (who was in the living room playing video games) sees her enter, and stops her before she can sneak away to her room. He asks her where she was for the past week, and she reveals she was staying with Applejack because she knew Granny Smith did not have her parents' contact information. Dash also shares that she just needed some time from their relationship, but Applejack was the one who convinced her to come back home.
Soarin takes the time to genuinely apologize to her, saying he realizes his mistake and that he understands if she still needed time before she could fully trust him again. Dash is elated that he owned up to his actions and pulls him into a hug.
The two of them luckily mended the tear in their relationship, and they swore to each other to never fight like that again.
It's now August, and the two teens get news from their parents: they'd finally be returning from their trip to France. Dash and Soarin sit in silence as they realize what this means for the both of them. After almost 6 months of living alone together, it was finally coming to an end.
It's interesting to think about how they used to detest the idea of even being in the same room as the other. Now they're don't want to leave each other's presence. The two of them take the time to reminisce about the past few months together.
The next afternoon, their parents arrive home from their trip. The two parties are excited to see each other, giving hugs and kisses, and even shedding tears.
Soarin's father jokingly wonders how the two teens managed to tolerate each other for months on end. Soarin and Dash simply smile at each other, not saying a word. Mr. Hot Hoof notices this, and he speculates that the two teens are dating. He doesn't say anything though, as he didn't want to draw too much attention to it.
After settling in and showering themselves, the two families order a meal from their favorite restaurant and eat in the dining room. After finishing their lunch, telling stories and catching up with each other, it is finally time for the Skies family to depart. As Soarin goes up to pack his things, Dash follows to help him.
Hours later, his speculations are confirmed when he catches them rubbing noses and kissing in the guest room where Soarin was supposed to be "packing". He can't help but feel proud of himself, as he believes he is the one who jump-started their relationship (day 7). He's also the two teens were finally able to put aside their differences and just learn to love each other.
After the teens reflected on the time they spent alone together, Soarin's parents finally called him downstairs. It was finally time for them to say goodbye to each other. Well, goodbye until later. They weren't letting go of each other that easily. They promised to call each other everyday as they prepared for their upcoming and in-person senior year of high school. There was still a mask mandate, but it was infinitely better than online school.
At the front door, the two families bid each other goodbye until their next encounter. Rainbow Dash held back the urge to show too much affection in front of their parents, but Soarin had other ideas. He engulfed her in a hug and rested her head on his chest. Their parents gawked at this, while Bow Hot Hoof could not hide his amusement.
After pulling away, Soarin left a kiss on her lips, not caring about the reactions of their parents. He picked up his bags and headed for the door where his parents were standing.
"See you later, Princess," Soarin waved before exiting the house with his parents following suit. Rainbow Dash waves back, mouthing the words 'I love you' as he disappeared through the door.
The End.
