Chapter 8

Josh Kim

Monday 20th February

9:00am- Toronto

I was sitting in my lounge room reading while drinking a cup of cinnamon latte. Why would I waste my precious time helping Natalie. I could have easily called Mabel or even Emily to take her, but I wanted to do it.

Why though?

Did that kiss really get me hard?

I thought back to that kiss. Natalie's short body against mine. Her fingers making circles on my cheeks. My arms around her, feeling everything below her waist.

I blink, hard.

What's wrong with me?

I've seen this girl vomit, sneeze and practically drunk.

As much as I didn't want to admit it, I craved more.

This has never happened before. This thirst that needed to be quenched.

I hear the door open and see Natalie walk out. Her cheeks were red. She was embarrassed. As she awkwardly walks to me, I look at her hazelnut-brown hair that was down. She was wearing my shirt and it was clearly too big for her. Her short, slim body wearing my t-shirt. I cross my legs.

I should control myself.

"Josh, thanks for looking after me for two days. I need to go since I still have two weeks before I go back to London for the rest of my break." She explains.

"I see. Alright then. Just wire me the 50,000 later." I answer standing up and seeing Natalie's face of confusion.

How amusing.

"What do you mean by 50,000?"

"Well Hazelnut, you puked on my cardigan. Which by the way was $5,000. And then you destroyed my mother's vase. Which finding a replacement for that vase wasn't easy. The cost for a replacement is about $70, 000. But since I felt forgiving, I decided to lower it to $ 45,000. Overall, the money you owe me is $50,000."

"That's insane. I can't just pay that."

"Well too bad. So sad."

"Josh, I need to save money for the trip back home."

"You didn't buy a ticket ahead?"

"Yeah."

"My gosh. You are so unorganised. Why should I care? Pay me the 50,000."

"I can't. Is there anything else I can do? Please" she asks me to walk up closer to me.

I stare at her as she waits for my response.

What can I ask for?

Oh, I know what.

Natalie took some cooking classes, last time I checked.

"Hazelnut, if you were to cook for me for days you are still Toronto then I'll accept that." I offer smirking at her annoyed face.

"You serious?" she asks me.

"Yep."

"Nope. I'm not doing that Josh."

"50,000."

She sighs in irritation, and I smile. Thinking hard before answering, she answers," Alright. I'll do it."

"Great. Allow me to explain. Everything. Bring out your phone to take notes." I demand, sitting down.

I point to the kitchen counter at the phone, charging. Natalie takes her phone and unlocks it. She looks at me when she is ready.

"First thing to explain, weekdays I wake up at 7am. I eat breakfast at 7:30 so prepare oatmeal by then. Only oatmeal and fruit on the weekdays. Wake up early to make me breakfast. Always have a cup of cinnamon latte with the oatmeal."

She takes note of this info and looks at me. I could see it all over her face. She loathed me. It made me excited.

"Second thing, I finish work at 5pm and come back home around 5:15. Have dinner ready and set on the table by then. I only drink almond or soy milk. As you know, I have allergies. Kiwi & hazelnuts. You know that very well. Hazelnut."

Natalie finishes taking note and nods showing me that she understands.

"Take note of this, 0833 5*0 6*7. That's my number. I already have yours from Mabel. I have my own apron and you're not having mine, so I'll buy you a new one." I say collecting my book and wallet, placing it in my work bag.

I stand up with my work bag and put my coat on. Opening the door, I turn around and look at Natalie.

"Just before I forget. You don't want to be locked out." I chuckle, digging through my pocket and passing Natalie a second key card.

"I'll see you later, Hazelnut. Can't wait to piss you off later!"

I leave my condo with the biggest smile on my face. Annoying Natalie had made my day. This is the first time in my life where I can't wait till, I get home. I drove to work in a good mood and arrived chuckling at the thought of Natalie getting mad.

"What's making you giggle, Josh!?" Cory asked, having to project his voice so the entire office could hear him.

I stop laughing and switch back to my resting face.

"Nothing." I snap.

"Doesn't seem like nothing. More like something...or someone?" Cory whispers.

"Shut up Cory."

"Ooh. Josh, who is it? Who's the girl you like,"

"I don't like her."

"So, it is a girl."

I ignore Cory and take out my laptop.

I don't like Natalie. And I never will. I'm only excited because she's annoyed. I know that she hates me as much as I hate her.
