Full House
A/N I had to attach that photo on there because oh my gods it's freaky and I want to horrify you all as much as I can. Okay let's have another cry fest, okay? Oh and btw this chapter is in David's POV again because that really seemed to make you guys happy.
David's POV:
Disaster. That's all that has been happening. Not that I don't like Rebecca, I do, she's quite brilliant, but I also feel bad for her. I head down the stairs, going to her room. I've been avoiding this all day, and now it's 3:15. I have to tell her what's happened. I got in sight of her door and I mentally prepared myself to put her through hell. I knocked on her door.
"Come on in!" She said happily. I open the door and walk in. She looks at my face smiling, but when she sees it, she stops. She sits down on her bed, and I sit down next to her.
"How'd it happen?" She asked me, not even daring to look up from the floor. I can tell she's hoping that what she thinks happened didn't, but I have to tell her.
"The plane crashed in the ocean. There were no survivors." I said, seeing her face contort in pain. I couldn't even do anything, I just sat there, not knowing what to do. She's been through hell and back, and now I just threw her back in. Her sobs racked through her body, and I put my hand on her shoulder. She moved away, and I understood. I got up and went to the door.
"Wait." She said, standing up. "Do my siblings know?" I could barley even speak, so I nodded.
"Can I borrow your laptop so that I can talk to them? I might never see them again."
"Yeah." I choked out. "I'll go get it." She nodded and curled up on her bed in the fetal position, and I closed her door. I went up the stairs and into my room. I snagged my laptop and got it ready for her. Walking down the stairs, I decided that I would adopt her siblings, and her. I rather liked her, and her siblings couldn't be all that bad. Maybe she had other family that would take her siblings in, but she was still too weak to go back to the States. I opened her door and set the laptop down on her bed. She sat up, and I walked back to the door.
"Please stay." She asked me. I complied and sat down on her bed. Her brother Arthur took the call.
"Hi Becca! Did mom and dad show up yet? They should be there soon." He smiled, showing a missing tooth.
"Arthur, how'd you lose your tooth?" Rebecca asked him, stalling from the main subject of the call.
"Well, I was playing baseball with Jordan, and he hit the ball and it hit my tooth and then I swallowed my tooth by accident." I noticed Rebecca roll her eyes.
"Arthur, go get Killian and Reyna. We need to talk." Rebecca said, picking at the scab from her hangnail.
"What happened?" Arthur pleaded.
"Just go get them!" Rebecca hollered at him. Arthur nodded. He got up to go get them, and was back about 5 minutes later.
"Hi Rebecca! Are mom and dad there yet?" Her little sister, Reyna, asked her.
"They're not here yet, no. And they won't be either." Rebecca said, her voice hanging on to its normal sound by a thread. They all say down.
"What do you mean, they'll won't be?" Killian asked her, his mouth starting to twitch. Rebecca hit my knee with hers, shaking her head. I understood what she meant.
"Their plane crashed in the ocean on the flight over. There weren't any survivors. I'm sorry." I said, letting my voice crack at the last sentence. Arthur got up from his chair and paced around for a moment. He got to their island, and swept everything off the counter with his arms, screaming. He then crumpled up on the ground like a piece of wadded up paper. Reyna and Killian stayed on the couch, and held onto each other while they silently let the tears flow from their eyes.
Rebecca's POV:
Hearing David break down and sob every night from above me, seeing his eyes red and puffy in the morning from all the endless tears and no sleep, that was hell. But watching my sibling be cast in the same pit as him from a computer screen, that was something worse. I break everything I touch. I took the most amazing human being to ever walk this Earth, and I completely smashed him to bits. But, my self pity isn't the point of all this. David spoke up after my siblings had stopped crying and all gotten back on the couch.
"I could adopt you all, if you like. I don't have a wife, no children, and I can quite afford it. That is, unless you have a family member that you could live with. Or if you don't want to that's fine I mean you don't even know me really." I looked at his face, which was purely genuine. Then I heard Reyna's voice.
"Well, Aunt Suzanne committed suicide last morning, and the rest of our family disowned us." Reyna saw David's intrigued look, and told him the story. "Okay so basically our dads family had lots of money and wanted him to marry into another rich family to keep the money in the cycle. But, our dad met mom, not a wealthy woman, and he decided to marry her. He did that behind his family's backs, so they cut him off from the money. Our mom had no family but her sister, Suzanne. And, she's dead now. So, we have a dead Aunt, and a family that hates our guts. So, I guess we'll just have to accept your invitation." Reyna said. She's so young, but she's acting like a 30 year d talking about a business transaction.
"Who says you speak for Killian and I, Reyna? Who died and made you queen, eh?" Arthur shouted, standing up and getting overly-defensive. Reyna stood up, her blood obviously boiling.
"I'm just thinking about all of us! We're kids, we can't take care of ourselves! We have no family to speak of, and no family friends that can afford three more kids. Then comes along this man, offering us a home where we can be taken care of and be with our dying sister! Mom died, Rebecca isn't here, so that makes me the woman of the house. Now shut up, and sit!" Reyna hollered, immediately plopping down. Arthur did as instructed. So, we sat and discussed the way that we were going to get them over here legally. David contacted everyone he needed to, signed papers, mailed things, went to the courthouse, you name it. He probably only got 2 hours of sleep per night, if that. Finally, the day came that my siblings were going to come over with their things and mine. I was in my room crying over the fact that Netflix is going to take Doctor Who off next month, and then I heard David pull up in the car. I grabbed my oxygen machine and practically flew down the stairs. I nearly ripped the door off its hinges on my way out. It was overcast, thank Chuck, and the car doors opened. Out stepped Reyna from the front, Arthur and Killian from the back. Reyna saw me and bolted, and both of the boys causally walked over. Reyna got right in front of me and hugged me.
"Hey lil sis. I missed you too." I said, rubbing her hair with my free hand. She let go, and I took hugs from the annoying twerps. (AKA my brothers) After we all had said our hello's, we moved everybody in after the moving van arrived. My room ended up looking like a Doctor Who shrine, absolutely perfect. Eventually, I fell asleep. For once, there was a nearly perfect day. Peace can be found in chaos, only if you know where to look.
