David's POV:
"No. She can't die. She can't. I promised her she wouldn't die." I thought as her body fell to the ground.
"Rebecca!" I yelled, running to her unconscious body. I picked her up and felt for a pulse, and breathed out a sigh of relief. Immediately after doing that, I pulled out my phone and called the emergency services and told them of the crisis. Minutes later the ambulance came, and her little sister went with her. I drove myself and the boys to the hospital quick as I could, not even bothering to pay attention to the speed limit. We got to the hospital at the same time Rebecca's ambulance did. The kids and I hopped out and ran into the hospital as Rebecca went by on a gurney followed by Reyna. I tried to follow along, but the kids and I were stopped as they took her into the ER.
"Who are you?" A doctor asked us, holding his hand up.
"I'm her father and these are her siblings. Let us through." I ordered the man.
"Sir, I'm afraid you're not allowed in there yet." He said. "You'll have to fill out this form before you're allowed to see her. Please wait." So we did. We sat in the waiting room, I gave them the filled out form, and we waited for hours. Soon, a nurse came into the waiting room.
"Rebecca Fox's siblings and guardian, follow me please." She said. We all sprang up from our chairs and followed her, nearly stepping on her heels because we were going so fast. We got to Rebecca's room, and the nurse left.
"Hi guys." She weakly said, holding up her hand in the Vulcan "live long and prosper" sign. I returned it to her and smiled.
"How are you?" I asked her.
"Other than the fact that I almost died because I had fluid in my lungs? Great." She said. I laughed, and we all sat down. We talked to her about anything and everything. After a while, she wanted to contact Mac.
"Hey David? Could you go back to the house and get my phone for me please? I left it on my nightstand." She asked.
"Of course." I replied. "I'll be right back." I told her before I left the hospital quick as I could to got the house. When I came back and went into Rebecca's room, she was gone. Her bed was made and her siblings were to be found nowhere. Suddenly, my phone rang. I answered it quickly.
"David it's Matt. I've got the rest of the kids, they're ok." He quickly said.
"Wait what?! The rest of the kids? Where's Rebecca?!" I screamed, not caring if I was disturbing everyone else.
"David she...she's gone." Tears welled up in my eyes as my heart fell down to my toes, knotting my stomach on its way down.
"What do you mean she's gone?" I asked him, already knowing the answer to the question.
"Her lungs stopped working. They just...stopped. They tried to save her they really did, but she didn't make it. The hospital called me on Reyna's phone. I was her emergency contact number. That's why I picked them up. They're ok, other than the fact that their sister died." He said, his voice almost cracking.
"Matt I-I has to go." I said, tears falling and my voice cracking like old pavement. I hung up, and threw my phone against the wall and screamed. She died without me there. She died because I went back to get a phone. A phone. I got the kids back from Matt, and they stayed with me. We buried Rebecca in a TARDIS blue coffin, with her name on it in the same font as the lettering on 221b Baker Street. She had jet black striped on her coffin, "black as the impala and my soul" she would've said. After about ten more years, all the kids were moved out. I'm alone now, but not for long. I will not live without my daughter for any longer, I will not wallow in the pain of knowing that she died without me. I will not.
