Country Vacation

Hello my delicious peanut Time peepsles forgive my stupidness for not updating in an eon and a half I've been really busy with school and I haven't really been at my house much the past week so that's been a major source of anxiety for me. So yeah I really hope you like this update and I think there's only 3 or so more chapters to go until the book is over. Oh and by the way this chapter is gonna be a long ass chapter so yea be warned.

David's POV:

Rebecca had been taken to the hospital again. Her lungs felt like they caught fire, and she could hardly breathe. So I took her to the hospital as quickly as I could, and they had confirmed that Rebecca had entered stage 4 of her lung cancer. I wasn't to happy to hear that. So after everything was under control, we went back to the house. It was dark, and I went inside thinking that Rebecca was right behind me. When I saw that she wasn't, I panicked a little.

"Rebecca!" I called out as I went outside.

"Oh don't get your boxers in a twist I'm right here." I heard her say slightly irritatedly. I looked to see her lying on the grass looking up at the sky. I lay down next to her.

"What are you looking for up there?" I quietly asked her.

"The stars. I miss seeing the stars." She replied.

"I thought you lived in a city. The stars don't show in the city." I said to her in more of a questioning tone.

"I did live in a city, but every weekend our parents would take us out to a cabin in basically the middle of nowhere that they built years before. We'd spend the whole weekend there, and at night, we would all go stargazing. They knew I loved the stars and they did that so that in case I died, I got to see the stars one last time before I became one." She explained. I decided in that moment that I'd take her and her siblings to a cabin out of town. I got up and offered my hand to her.

"It's getting pretty chilly, we better head on in." I said to her as she took my hand. I gently pulled her up, and then we went inside.

-------LE TIME SKIP-------

(Still David's POV)

I was just about to wake Rebecca up that morning when I heard a shriek and a noise like a seizure coming from her room. I sped up my pace and reached her room in mere seconds. I opened the door, absolutely terrified of what I might find.

"Rebecca are you alright?" I frantically inquired.

"No!" She said as she wheezed.

"Look at this! I am not okay after seeing this marvelous smol bean of sunshine and happiness. My Misha!" She said with a shriek, shoving her phone in my face with the screen displaying some guy with dark hair wearing an apron and posing like a unicorn.

"Um, okay, well, urm, it's 10:30 so you need to get up. I've also got a surprise for you all so hurry. I'll see ya in a bit." I said, closing her door and going to the kitchen to prepare myself some tea.

"Fangirls." I muttered with a slight chuckle. Just as I was sitting down to sip on my hot tea, I heard three sets of feet bolting down the stairs. I looked up to see Killian, Arthur, and Reyna almost falling down the stairs. They came to the bottom, saw me, and came to sit down on the opposite couch.

"So what's the surprise?" Arthur asked excitedly.

"Wait for Rebecca, you twit!" Reyna said, slapping her brother on the arm. I stifled a laugh. Right on time, Rebecca plopped down next to me.

"So, what's going on?" Rebecca asked me.

"Well, I took into consideration what you said last night while we were outside, and I've decided that we are all going to leave London today and go to a cabin in basically the middle of nowhere. I've already rented the cabin and Matt will be joining us. So, does that sound fun?" I finished. I looked to see big smiles and a few tears on everybody's faces, but they were all nodding ferociously.

"And it's by a lake so there will be water. So, a move getaway, bright stars, and water included. I think this is gonna be really fun. Don't you?" I asked them, earning hugs from everyone.

"You're making Becca's life as amazing as you can and I can't even come close to telling you thank you enough times." Reyna quickly said in my ear as she hugged me.

"You don't have to." I quickly replied. Once everyone was seated, I told them that we all needed to pack and so everybody bolted to their rooms to pack a suitcase. I pulled Killian aside.

"I'm gonna go get some air for Rebecca's machine. I'll be back in a flash, alright? If anybody asks where I've gone please do tell them." I said to him, patting him on the back.

"Sure thing, mister. I better go pack." He said, smiling and scampering up the stairs. I headed out the door and went to the car. I drove to the nearest Norco and got three more air tanks. I came back home to see four suitcases by the door, a clean kitchen, and four kids playing minecraft on their Xbox.

"Hey I'm back!" I called out. Nobody heard me.

"Arthur I swear to god if you blow up my house one more time, I will shove that controller down your throat." I heard Rebecca angrily say. The next moment I heard a boom from the speakers and a certain Arthur screeching as a controller hit his head. Reyna and Killian did nothing but chuckle. I heard one of them mutter "You had it comin" I couldn't help but chuckle at the whole ordeal. Rebecca finished beating her brother and went back to re-building her house. I walked up behind the couch.

"So who's winning?" I asked, making each one of them jump. I think Reyna almost swallowed her tongue.

"Hi. I'm home." I said again, walking to the counter and placing the bags on top.

"Yeah I see that. What all
did you get?" Killian asked.

"Oh I just got some more air tanks for Rebecca and I also got some snacks. Y'know, trail mix, fruit snacks, stuff like that." I said, catching a maniac grin from Arthur.

"Arthur, please don't eat all the cashews from the trail mix again. You know I like them too." Said Reyna. Arthur put his hands up in defense.

"All right is everyone ready to head out the door to get to the cabin?" I asked, clapping my hands together.

"Yeah." Everyone said at once.

"Awesome. You all hop in the car, let Rebecca up front so she has room for her air tank, and I'll loud everything else up in the trunk. Run along!" I said, the four of them smiling and scampering out of the door. I turned off the Xbox and loaded everything in the trunk before getting in the car to see Rebecca pop in the newest Coldplay album, A Head Full of Dreams. The first song started to play as I closed the door and got buckled.

"Oh I love Coldplay!" I said to Rebecca. She nodded.

"Yeah shut up I can't hear the music." She said with a laugh. I turned up the volume before pulling out of the driveway and heading down the road. All five of us loved Coldplay apparently and so the whole drive was spent listening to Coldplay. From one album to another, we all jammed. All of us were playing every instrument at once and we were all singing along to the songs, no matter how loud it got. The last song on their album Parachutes ended just as we arrived at the cabin. I put the cd away as everyone else got out. Reyna, Arthur, and Killian started unloading the trunk. (A/N the Brits actually call it the boot but basically no Americans know that and most of the people reading this are American. I think. So yeah I thought I'd just say that so.) I grabbed my suitcase and Rebecca's and hauled them inside. Everyone unpacked, and we had just enough time to go down to the lake for a swim. Rebecca had been on her oxygen long enough and decided to go with us. So we all got our swim suites on and ran down to the lake. Well, everyone but Rebecca and I. I walked with her down to the shore where the water was making small waves and then gently crashing onto the sand. The other kids were already further out and splashing each other. Rebecca walked out to where the water was up to her stomach and then started to float on her back. The sun was reflecting off the water and made it look like liquid gold. I went under the water and swam around a bit before popping back up to see all of the kids having a competition to see who could swim the fastest. Killian won. Then we all goofed off with each other until it was almost sunset.

"Come on! It's about to get dark! Let's go get dried off and in some warmer clothes!" I hollered to the kids, who were a bit further out than me. They came back and I noticed Arthur had a sun burn that had a smiley face form.

"Yeah I did that when I put the sunscreen on his back." Said Rebecca next to me. I looked at her in a facial expression that said "What was the cause of that?"

"What? You seriously didn't think that I was gonna let him get away with blowing up my house, did you?" She said, smiling and walking up the small slope to go back to the cabin. Everybody changed into sweat clothes before coming back outside to the campfire that I had made. I noticed everyone had a fandom based hoodie. Rebecca had a Doctor Who one, Reyna had a Heroes of Olympus one, Arthur had a Merlin one, and Killian had a Once Upon A Time one.

"Nice hoodies." I said to everyone.

"Thanks." They all said together. We ate s'more's and talked and laughed. Then we did some stargazing. Everybody but Rebecca and I went inside to go to sleep. Rebecca was still laying in her spot that she'd been in for two hours, so I went to lay next to her.

"Hi." I said as I settled to the ground.

"Hi." She replied.

"What time is it?" She asked.

"About one in the morning." I retorted.

"Cool." She said. I didn't reply. A moment later, she piped up.

"They're beautiful, aren't they? The stars, I mean."

"Yeah, I suppose they are. They're brilliant in every sense of the word." I replied to her. I heard her lightly chuckle for a moment.

"They're like people, the stars are. They shine way up above us so far away for everyone to see, but nobody can touch them. They shine on without a clue about what's happening underneath them. It won't affect their glorious path across the sky, so why should they concern themselves with it? Sometimes they burn out, and sometimes they simply explode. I guess that's why I like stars so much. They remind me of people I wish I knew, people I knew a little or a lot and the people I've lost along the way. The way they shine on just makes me want to stare and them forever. They're simply fantastic." She finished.

"Wow. That was one of the most beautiful things I've ever hears in my life." I said to her. I felt her shiver as a breeze came up.

"Are you cold?" I asked her. I felt her nod a little. I pulled her close to me for warmth so that she wouldn't have to leave her position under the stars. She eventually fell asleep watching the blue and the black and the rolling light of the stars. I took her inside to her bed and laid her in it. Everybody else was asleep, so I crawled in bed and fell asleep.

Wow. 1975 words of actual story. I told you it was gonna be long though, didn't I? Welp, this update was frickin huge so I hope that makes up for my absence on all my stories.
