Chapter 3- Mission Accomplished

I watched amused as the eyes of the three widened. Then I saw Sakura’s angry face and frowned as she tried to punch me, but of course I stopped her hand.

"Huh... you've really gotten stronger Sakura," I praised smiling.

"ALISON! HOW DARE YOU JUST SUDDENLY APPEAR! WE WERE ALL WORRIED ABOUT YOU!"

"Relax," I said sweat-dropping. "You didn't even recognize me now.."

"Well... you look different..." Sakura said guiltily.

"I don't look that different..." I muttered awkwardly.

"Yeah you do!" Naruto said grinning. "See, you're a lot taller than before... but I'm still taller than you!"

Sakura got an irk mark. Oh right, just a while ago Naruto must’ve told her how she was exactly the same…

"And," Naruto continued. "You don't dress all cute anymore! You look kinda scary!"

I sweat-dropped, and Sakura got angrier.

"Also, that innocent young look from your face is all gone! With the mask, it was harder to see your features... but you still look more womanly, Believe it!"

I saw Sakura about to explode, but Naruto seemed oblivious.

"Also, you changed your hairstyle right?" Naruto said grinning, and I laughed out loud at Sakura's reaction.

"Yeah Naruto... seems like I changed a bit more than I thought..." I smirked. "I better go with the Hokage and all... see ya!"

“WAIT!” Sakura called, making me stop.

“What?” I asked confused.

“Now you call yourself Akira? Didn’t you kind of hate the name because of… you know, the things it meant?” Sakura said, trying not to upset me.

“I did,” I admitted with a small smile, “But… I don’t know… It’s time I accept the truth and move on, don’t you think?”

“Hai,” she said with a tiny smile.

“Well, now I better go! I have a lot to tell the Hokage about,” I said running. “See ya!”

With that, I appeared outside the Hokage's office, knocked, and without waiting for a reply entered and sat comfortably.

"Hey Tsunade-sama!" I shouted, waking her up.

"HEY-- who are you?" she asked confused.

"Hello, my name's Akira Takahashi, formerly known as Alison! I bet you've heard a lot about me!" I said as I extended my hand in front of me for her to shake, and so she did.

"Ah... the girl from Sakura's team that left... Yes, yes I know you--- Wait?! You're back?"

I laughed and smiled. "Nope, it's an illusion!"

She sweat-dropped and then smiled.

"I'm glad you're back, I am the fifth Hokage, Tsunade... so I suppose you do have a home?"

"A, yeah..." I said as I remembered Katsuro... I sure want to see him... "No worries about that, I just though I may pass by and tell you... Oh, and my report!”

I did some hand-signs and an enormous book appeared in front of me.

“Report?” she said taking it confused.

It said: ‘Akatsuki’ in big red letters.

“What’s this about?” She asked wide-eyed.

“I was on a long mission gathering information on the Akatsuki,” I said seriously. “The Third assigned me.”

-       Flashback to chunin exams–

I knocked on the Hokage’s door, not waiting for a reply I came in and closed the door.

“Alison?” the Hokage muttered surprised, seeing my serious face.

“Hokage… I have to talk to you about some grave matters,” I said sitting down tense.

“What is it, Alison?” He said as he got a serious look.

I explained then everything that was to come in the last stage of the Chunin exams.

“Hokage… Orochimaru… He… He kills you,” I said looking at him with wide-eyes.

“I had to let you know! You need to be prepared! Send ninja to kill the Kasekage now before it’s too late and-“

“I can’t do that Alison,” the Hokage interrupted smiling calmly.

“W-Why?” I said shocked

“The sand-nin do believe that he is the Kasekage, and if we send someone, it could mean war. Besides, nobody we could send would be able to defeat Orochimaru, not with also his ninja there… What happens after… after my death?”

“Sasuke leaves the village, Naruto will train with a sannin and will not give up on Naruto… I don’t know, I haven’t gotten that far…” I said desperate.

“I’m sorry Alison, but we’ll have to let this happen… Have you tried changing things before?”

“I… I couldn’t, I tried but I was too late,” I said remembering Sasuke’s curse mark.

“No, It’s too risky to try and change anything this time… Many things are at stake,” the Hokage said tiredly.

“You can’t expect me to let you die!” I said standing up, not noticeing the tears that left my face. “Please, there’s got to be something I can do to help you!”

“You knew I would deny the offer didn’t you? You don’t seem surprised, just sad,” He said smiling slightly.

“I… I know you care more about this village than your own life Hokage-sama,” I agreed sitting down.

“And you want to ask something off me don’t you?” he said knowingly.

“If you’re going to let things happen… I have to get stronger. I have to be able to defeat Sasuke in the future, or at least help Naruto. So I need your permission…”

“What is it child?”

“I need to train with the Akatsuki,” I said finally.

The Hokage stayed quiet, thinking it through.

“I agree,” he said finally.

“But- Wait, you do?” I said surprised.

“Only, Alison, I need to use this also to the benefit of Konoha…”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“This is an opportunity I can’t waist. You’re going on a mission. The hardest mission you’ll go to. You will gain Akatsuki’s trust, or at least interest. Get them to train you. Gather as much info of each member as you can. You’ll have to be undercover.”

“A mission?” I said wide-eyed.

“This is easily A-rank… You need to know you can say no… After all, your life would be on the line for two years. It could end with your death… They might even kill you before you get a glimpse of them. You’ll train. You also have to tell them your real name… it would help you make them want you. And you’ll have to come back under all circumstances.”

“I accept this mission, Hokage-sama,” I said confidently.

“I’ll deliver the scroll to your house, read it through, it will have every instruction and advice I can give you. I trust you can be able to complete this mission.”

I nodded, feeling fear creep in me. I hope he is right in this one, if not, I am literally dead.

“Oh, and before you leave, Alison,” he stopped me as I went to the door. “You have to promise me, you won’t tell anyone what you know. You’ll let things happen as they should. Promise me. Don't interfere.”

“I,” I said shutting my eyes, feeling tears leave them. “I promise, Gramps.”

-AFTER, AT HER HOUSE-

I found the scroll the Hokage had said. It had every aspect of the mission and it came with a big empty book with ‘Akatsuki’ written in big red letters.

He also mentioned the exact time I had, and how, If I took longer… It would depend on the new Hokage to decide weather I was to be put as dead, a traitor, or to be rescued.

--END FLASHBACK--

“Do you have the scroll?” I asked after explaining.

“Do you mean this one?” she said pulling one out. “I can’t seem to open it… It said to wait till the time was right.”

“Give me it,” I said smiling, and she did. I poured some of my chakra and the scrolled opened.

Tsunade read it and gasped.

“You were succesfull,” she said surprised. “A genin… Gathering info on Akatsuki…”

“It wasn’t easy, that I’ll say,” I said smiling. “But it was a success! So, I have to go now I guess. See ya!”

"WAIT!" she said suddenly alarmed.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Come here..."

I did as I was told, and I saw her lift my mask. Oh... I left it around my neck...

"Y-You!" she said surprised. "So you did train hard I guess, to be in the bingo book. Congratulations on the success of the mission."

“Thanks,” I said honestly.

"A 15 year-old girl... already S-rank... that... is truly impressive." she said finally smiling. “Here.”

She tossed me a bag and I opened it to find money.

“Your reward for this mission,” she said before I asked. I took it, grateful.

“By the way,” I said seriously. “The Hokage wanted to keep my mission a secret for as long as possible, so only do tell if necessary.”

“I know, he mentioned it in the scroll, don’t worry,” she said as she flipped through bok pages. "It mentions each of the members I see... But where's the hideout?"

"It would be no use if I ttold you," I said honestly. "It's very much protected, besides, they'll move away now that I've left them."

"Akira," Tsunade said standin up and looking through some drawer. She tossed something and I caught it. "Congratulations, you're a new jounin of the Leaf Village."

I smiled at the vest. "Thanks, Hokage-sama."

After that I said my goodbyes, and I crashed in Sakura's place, catching up... Katsuro will have a surprise tomorrow.
