Chapter 23 - I'm Back

"I don't like this place," I muttered annoyed while we kept walking to who-knows-where.

"Nobody asked you," Karin replied making me glare at her.

"Can't we rest for just a bit?" Suigetsu complained sitting down.

"Yes please," I exclaimed dramatically sitting down and pretending to breathe hard. "I'm so tired!"

Truth is, I need to remember exactly where we're going. So we've got Karin and Suigetsu, and apparently we're looking for another team member for Sasuke... Why can't I remember, this is so damn annoying. Damn it, my head is killing me.

"You're both so lazy! We didn't even get to the north lair yet!" Karin answered in her annoying self.

"Nobody asked you," I mocked in a sickly sweet smile that caused her to go red in embarrassment.

"Besides," Suigetsu interrupted. "Weren't you heading somewhere else? Why don't you just leave already."

"I just remembered I have business there too! I need to stop there first!" Karin shouted making me groan in complaint.

"Shut up," I said while laying on my back. My head started pounding and now I'm getting pretty annoyed at everything easily. Especially at Karin. "My ears will bleed if you keep talking. Besides, everyone knows you're coming along with this team 'cause you think you'll get it with Sasuke, so why don't you stop pretending you're not."

"Why you little-"

"Stop it," Sasuke glared in our general direction.

"Why are you even with Suigetsu and this girl, Sasuke?" Karin said, grimacing when she mentioned me, which caused me to flip her my finger and her to frown annoyed. Suigetsu laughed at the exchange.

"You know what," I said standing up. "As much as it pains me to say this, she's right. I should just leave. See you guys later, it was great spending time with you... not."

I started walking away, but Suigetsu stopped me, which I obviously expected... That doesn't mean I wasn't getting riled up more by the second.

"Now there," he said with a teasing smile. "You can't abandon me with this two. Besides, I already decided we're keeping you, you can't just leave."

I tried not to sound strained, "I'm not your pet, Suigetsu."

"I beg to differ," he said smiling mockingly.

I just stuck my tongue out and followed them.

"I don't know what you're trying to accomplish," Karin told Sasuke and Suigetsu. "But do you really need Juugo for it?"

I snapped my eyes towards her.

"Of course," I said facepalming. "Juugo!"

They ignored me, except for Sasuke who snapped his eyes toward me while I facepalmed over and over.

I stopped paying attention then. I remember Juugo now. He's the missing one in this team, and he's who we're getting right now. Although... Everything on from here is still hazy. Why the fudge did I start forgetting the manga?

"Akira," Sasuke interrupted my mental ranting, causing my head to snap at him curiously. "I need to talk to you... alone."

Karing got an irk mark while Suigetsu simply nodded. Sasuke walked a bit away from them and I followed them.

"What's going on," he asked in a monotone voice.

"I don't know what you mean."

"Don't play dumb," he said, now staring at me intensely. "You seem to be in pain all of the time."

"I'm just tired, Sasuke," I said turning away.

"You passed out from pain a few days ago," he recalled. "And then told me you saw things. This isn't normal... not even for you."

I looked anywhere but at him.

"Remember how I always seemed to know stuff?" I suddenly said, sighing tiredly. Sasuke only nodded. "Well, I don't anymore. When I try to think about some stuff... I get these killer headaches. They're happening more often... And sometimes, with a headache comes a kind of... vision. I see stuff... Stuff I already knew but somehow keep forgetting."

My eyes were watering, but I wouldn't let myself cry.

"I'm not usefull anymore," I said angrily, my hands tightening into fists. "I'm as lost as everyone else. How the fuck am I supposed to change things when I don't know them?"

Sasuke said nothing, just stared at me hard. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, turning to him.

"I'm sorry for ranting, " I said tiredly, "Let's just keep going."

Sasuke seemed to be deep in thought, staring intently at me.

"Sasuke?"

"You need to find out why that's happening."

"Thanks captain obvious," now let's go. I started walking towards Karin and Suigetsu but Sasuke stopped me.

"You're not able to find out anything here."

I turned to him confused. "What are you saying?"

"You're not coming."

"You can't be serious," I said. "I mean you won't leave me here, free to go... That's not like you."

"I'm sorry," he said, a regretful look crossing his eyes for one millisecond.

"What-?"

But suddenly my body gave out, my eyes feeling heavy, and I gave in to sleep.

******

I woke up with just a bottle of water next to me. They left me.

"That jerk!" I punched the ground tiredly, but a small smile managed it's way into my face. You still care, as much as you'd like to think you don't.

I stood up and drank the whole bottle, then stretching and cracking my neck. Too tired to really transport myself back to Konoha... not to mention having no real clue how far away we really were, I summoned Kiiba.

"Can you take me to Konoha pretty please?" I said with a set a killer puppy eyes.

"Hop on you idiot," he said with his wolfish smile.

I was rudely awoken by falling to the ground.

"Hey!"

"Here you are," Kiiba said simply. "See ya later, princess."

With that, he puffed away.

"That damned idiot," I said as I stood up and looked towards Konoha's gates. "He could've left me closer to the damned gates."

I stopped watching the gates.

Kakashi and Kiba are so gonna kill me... Well Konoha, once again, I'm back.
