Chapter 1 - Konoha
Chapter 1
Konoha
I woke up feeling weird. I looked around and noticed everything looked different. What's wrong with my eyes! I rubbed my eyes but nothing changed.
"What the..." I muttered looking around. It is not possible, it can't be. Everything was different, not to mention I’m definitely not in Harry’s place. I must be crazy... It all looks… cartoony.
"Waah!" I exclaimed as I glanced around, seeing nothing but trees, grass, and a weird looking rock. I got nearer and saw the stone had names written on it. Where am I?
I stood up and felt something smash against my leg.
"My bag?" I said as I looked weirdly at it. I opened it and first thing I saw was a silver letter. I looked at it weirdly. I didn’t place a silver letter here. Where did this even come from. I turned it over, and saw the seal. It was a golden ‘T’ imprinted on it.
Taking a deep breath, trying to calm myself, I decided to open the letter and read. I watched the perfect calligraphy in surprise and finally started reading.
Akira,
If you read this it must mean my seal has broken and you're back. You must know that everything I did was for your very own good. Now, I'm dead, and so is the rest of your clan. This paper was to appear once you were back, for me to explain everything you did not know.
In the times when you were born, the Takahashi clan was in war. Others wanted our secrets, our power. We needed to protect it, so when the village started getting attacked we decided it was time to hide you. We sent you to another place, a safe one, until you could come back. If you are reading this, it sadly means you are the last Takahashi, or else, this letter wouldn’t have appeared, but a person would’ve instead.
So, you're now on your own, but don't worry. This parchment here has the last of my power, so it will help you when needed. Now, you must seek help and go to the Hokage and show him this. He should know what to do.
You will be fine; after all, you are the Takahashi princess. Now, you probably doubt this is you, there is only one way to prove to you that you are the Takahashi princess. You should have a lightning scar on your left shoulder.
Remember we all love you, we know you’ll make us proud! Live your life and forget about revenge, just be helpful and kind to others and you will reach happiness and love. For all you plant, you will harvest. If you only give anger and bitterness, that’s what you shall receive. Please, remember this words my dear, and love.
Good luck,
Kimiko, your mother.
I stared at the letter with eyes wide. What was she talking about? Lightning scar. Ha. Harry Potter much? This is not me; I don't have a lightning scar. Just to be sure, I checked, and I couldn't help but let a scream of horror. There it was. A lightning scar. That can be a coincidence, right?
I fell to my knees, breathing hard. This can’t be real. This is just a bad dream.
"Is something wrong?" Someone said as he ran my way.
I just stared at the paper blankly. Not being able to process everything.
"What happened?" the man repeated. I looked up this time, and almost screamed in surprise. I had seen him before! He was that Kaka-something from Naruto. He had a gray/white hair that defied gravity and a thingy covering his eye.
“It can’t be!" I said astonished. "I belong in the Naruto world? No way."
"What's the Naruto World?" The man asked with a question mark appearing.
“This! This place! This is all fake! Ninjas, a Hokage, clans and villages. They aren’t real!” I said firmly.
He stared at me weirdly.
“I can’t be from here! These are all lies! I don’t belong here! My family can’t be dead!” I said angry, tears leaving my eyes. “It can’t be. These are all lies!”
I threw the paper away as I hugged my knees. I heard him walk and then there was silence. Maybe he left. I have to wake up! Why am I here?
I heard a gasp and I looked up, only to see the man, who I think is named Kaka-something, reading the letter. His eyes turned to me and he gave me a suspicious look.
"Come with me." He muttered, and without waiting for a reply he took my wrist and pulled me with him.
“H-Hey! Let go you freak!” I yelled trying to pull away. He seemed surprised I was actually able to pull him back, but he just held me stronger and pulled harder. “Who are you anyway?”
“Kakashi,” He replied simply.
I finally gave up and followed silently. We suddenly arrived to a tall building, and he took me upstairs until we were outside a door.
"We're here." he said knocking on the door. A guy came out and told Kakashi he could go in. The guy was about to leave when Kakashi asked him to keep an eye on me as he talked to the Hokage. Said guy took my arm firmly and waited for Kakashi, while I just looked at the floor.
The door was opened again, and Kakashi signaled for me to come. He thanked the guy, who nodded in acknowledgement and left in a ‘poof’.
I went in nervously and saw a really old guy with a pipe and a straw hat.
“This is the Hokage,” Kakashi said as if waiting for me to do something.
"Hello Hokage… erm..." what was it they added at the end for respect... oh right, "H-Hokage-sama!"
"She looks indeed like a Takahashi," the Hokage said as he looked me over, making me look away. "She has the scar, the hair and even the eyes to prove that, but most of all the strong chakra I sense from her."
"Chakra?" I asked confused.
"So she indeed knows nothing," the Hokage said with a thoughtful look.
"Hey! That's not true!... I must remember some of the things Harry made me watch..." I muttered.
"Who?" Kakashi asked confused.
"Er... Harry?" I said in more of a question.
"Tell me Akira, w-" he started
"Alison," I interrupted. I don't care if I was this 'Akira' princess. "My name's Alison."
"Well, Alison," he said surprised. "Where have you been this thirteen years?"
"I was in another dimension I think," I answered truthfully, but feeling quite stupid. What was the use of lying?
"Well that’s... unexpected." Kakashi muttered doubtfully. “You understand now my uneasiness Hokage. She appeared in the KIA stone, supposedly not knowing anything and with a parchment that claims she is the last Takahashi, who were wiped out twelve years ago. There was a legend of such princess, but that’s it right? A legend?”
“I don’t know Kakashi. This envelope is indeed identical to the Takahashi’s clan… The handwriting is identical from what I remember to be Kimiko’s handwriting, and well, we’ll have to investigate. For now, let’s test her,” the Hokage decided.
“T-Test me?” I asked confused, and kind of worried.
“Hai,” the Hokage nodded. He gave a meaningful look to Kakashi and Kakashi took my arm and suddenly we disappeared and appeared somewhere else.
“Whaaa” I looked around confused. “Where are we?”
“A training ground,” the Hokage said simply. “First: Physical Strength.”
“Eh…” I just stared there dumbly, making the Hokage sigh.
“Kakashi,” he said, “Bring me Neji Hyuga, from Gai’s team.”
“Hai,” Kakashi replied bowing and disappearing. Soon a boy a bit older than me appeared bowing.
“Hokage-sama, you called?” this ‘Neji’ said in a cold voice.
“Neji, this is… Alison,” the Hokage said, and I was thankful he said my name and not the other weird name. “She’s new to the village, and we need to test her. I’ll be telling you what you shall test, but it’s your call to decide how you test it.”
“Neji turned to me and scoffed. “As you wish Hokage-sama.”
“First, you shall test her physical strength, then test her reflexes, her speed, and ability with jutsu performing, aim, show her some jutsus starting from genin level and see how far she gets,” the Hokage said smiling kindly at me. “Now I shall get going, report in my office once you are done.”
“Okay,” Neji said to me, “First, have you ever trained in hand-to-hand combat?”
“Erm… I have fought before… but I don’t think we fight in similar styles,” I answered truthfully. I had liked boxing while on earth, but my mother and father wouldn’t let me in. However, my friends –who were only guys- were most in box, so they used to train me and I can say I am good at boxing. But it has been long, so I may be out of shape.
“What do you mean?” He asked annoyed.
“My fighting style is different,” I explained. “While you are all martial arts, I’m more of a… I don’t even know how to say it…”
“Okay, let’s see what you can do,” he finally said. “First let’s see your offence. Just come at me, and try to get me.”
“Okay,” I said doubtfully.
I got in a fighting position, one foot in front of the other, while both my hands where in fists and placed in front of my face. He looked at me weirdly, but came and stood in front of me anyway, he, too, getting in a fighting stance. His feet were, like mine, one in front of the other. His arms however, one was forwards with his palm up, and the other was bent and in a strange hand-sign.
“Start,” he commanded.
I instantly obeyed, and started circling him, while he imitated me. Then I threw the first combinations. Right, left, above. I repeated, but he easily dodged. I feinted right and threw my left in rapidly, almost getting him. It was no use however, since he dodged all. I was getting frustrated and threw punches without rest. I didn’t think of the next move, I just went with instinct. Finally, after all that dodging and me throwing punches, he fell for a feint and I got him right in the jaw.
“Okay,” He said rubbing his jaw a little, looking at me weirdly, while we both got our breaths. “You got me earlier than I expected,” he admitted. “But your fighting is weird… clearly you’re not a ninja.”
“Obviously,” I replied smirking a little at the red mark my knuckles left on his jaw.
“Okay, deffensive now, I’m attacking, you dodge or stop my movements,” he explained.
“I know what deffensive is,” I said annoyed, making him smirk.
“Start,” he commanded, and instantly tried to get me.
Again, my fists were covering my face and I blocked all of his punches, I was surprised however, when he suddenly lifted his leg towards my face, and he almost got me, but I ducked. I knew he was being slower than usual for him, and I was surprised, since I was barely keeping up. Finally, I wasn’t able to dodge and he kicked me with enough strength to knock me off my feet.
“Damn,” I muttered annoyed.
Neji smirked and offered me a hand to stand up. I gratefully took it and crossed my arms pouting.
“Your offence is definitely better than your defense, but that might be because of that ‘fighting style’ you talk about,” Neji stated. “I bet you would be a great fighter with the right sensei.”
“Thanks, I guess,” I replied looking away.
“Now come here,” Neji said walking over to some weird wooden posts in the training grounds. “I need you to break through this.”
“Are you crazy?” I asked seriously. “I’m never going to be able to do that!”
“I’m going to show you how to add chakra to your punches, and also to fight in this fighting style. When we’re done you will be able to break through it… But fist I’m going to test everything else.”
“Speed,” Neji muttered. “Let’s see how you do.”
And that was how I spent the rest of the day. Neji tested everything, he showed me some jutsus. Well, he showed me chakra first, and let me tell you, it is AWESOME. Anyway, apparently I have a lot of chakra, so I was able to perform the genin jutsus easily, and the ‘chunin’ ones I could perform, but it actually took me time. He said ‘joinin’ would be too much for me, so he didn’t even bother. Apparently, I had good defense, average offence, great jutsu-performimg skills, great aim, I was a fast learned but I did suck at one thing… endurance. I got tired way to quickly, and I couldn’t do most exercised without taking breaks (which annoyed Neji).
“You’re hopeless,” Neji said as I lay on the ground panting like crazy.
“Shut up,” I muttered closing my eyes. “I was able to defeat that stupid piece of wood over there! I’m awesome!”
“Come on,” Neji said rolling his eyes, "let’s report to the Hokage."
“Okay,” I stood up dizzily. But tiredness overcame me. “H-Hey Neji, what do you say we do that tomorrow?”
“What-“
That was all I heard before I passed out of exhaustion.
I woke up feeling terrible. Everything ached, and my back was sore.
“So you’ve woken up?” I heard a familiar voice say. I turned to my right to see Neji smirking. I sat up and noticed I was still in the training grounds, and It seemed to be morning again, since when we were leaving the sun had gone down.
“You left me here sleeping on the ground?” I yelled angrily.
“Not a big deal, don’t worry, I stayed here too,” Neji said annoyed.
“Awee,” I said smiling, “that’s kind of nice of you.”
“Hn,” Neji muttered standing up, “Now let’s head to the Hokage.
I stood up and stretched painfully, then grabbed my bag which Neji was holding out for me to take, and followed Neji to the Hokage building.
He knocked o the door while I panted for having to climb all those stairs with my sore body.
“Come in,” the familiar old voice said, and Neji instantly came in.
“Hokage-sama,” he bowed, and when he saw I didn’t bow he pushed me dawn and then let me stand up while I silently cursed him.
“Ah, Neji-san, I was worried when you didn’t come yesterday,” the Hokage smiled. Yeah, he was clearly worried since he looked for me and all I thought sarcastically. “How did it go?”
“Well, her fighting style was a lot different, but she is a fast learned and she’s starting to get the grasp of ninja fighting. Her offence is average because of her different fighting skills; however her moves are really unpredictable for the same matter. Her defense is good. She is quite strong, opposite of how she looks, and can clearly land a punch.” He absentmindedly rubbed his jaw making me smirk and the Hokage smile. “Her jutsu performing skills surpass those of a new genin, but aren’t really above average for chunin level jutsus. But for not knowing anything at all about chakra, it is impressive. Her speed is alright… but there was only one thing she lacks: Endurance.”
“I see,” the Hokage said proudly. “I have to admit, I did spy a bit of your training, and I was quite surprised. You have a funny way of fighting, and you get annoyed pretty easily,” the Hokage laughed while I looked away embarrassed, and Neji smirked.
“Neji-san,” the Hokage said after sobering up, “Do you recommend her to take the graduation test with the rest of the class that will be graduating in two days, or do you think it is too much for her to handle?”
Neji looked at the Hokage surprised, and then turned to me with a calculating group. I stared at him, not really understanding, but knowing I hoped he recommended me.
“I, Neji Hyuga, recommend her to take this year’s graduation test,” he finally decided turning to the Hokage.
“Yay!” I said while I hugged Neji, simply because I was excited. However Neji easily pushed me away scowling.
“Don’t hug me,” He muttered annoyed, while the Hokage laughed and I pouted.
“Buzz kill,” I muttered crossing my arms. “I didn’t even want to hug you anyway.”
“Then why did you?” Neji replied smirking. I simply stuck my tongue at him, making him roll his eyes.
“Very well Neji, you can now go back to your team,” the Hokage said making Neji nod, bow, and disappear.
"Erm, Hokage?” I said as Neji disappeared. "Before we discuss anything… can I take a shower please?”
The Hokage looked at me and noticed I was all dirty from yesterday and sighed. He showed me to a bathroom and told me I could take a shower there, and to meet him back in his office once I was done.
I took one quick shower and grabbed a towel. I cursed when I thought I had to use my dirty clothes again, but I remembered my change that was in my bag. I smiled widely as I saw the clothes. This weren’t what I had packed! They are now cool ninja clothes!
I quickly put my undergarments, followed by a fishnet shirt and a pink tank top that reached below my butt over it. And found a cute short black vest to go over the pink tank. I also got in some fishnet leggings with black mini shorts over, that were completely covered by my tank top. Noticing my outfit looked incomplete; I searched the bag and found bandages, which I rolled around my legs so they covered where my shorts ended till mid-thigh, also adding some above my waist, with a little cute bow on the front, and finished with some bandages around my arm. What? They look cool okay? I put on some sandals-similar to the ones Neji wore- they were black, with a pink band that apparently holds small weapons.
Checking one last time in my bag, I found my IPod and phone still there(which made me almost cry with happiness), and also, my bag on money (but it wasn't in dollars anymore). I found some of the weapons Neji showed me yesterday, like Kunais and Shiruken, which I put on a pouch and I tied around my leg. And I found two different fishnet gloves. One that reached below my elbow, and one that reached above it which I put in the arm that didn’t have bandages. I put the shorter one in the arm with the bandages, and added a pink wristband over it, which made me happy with my outfit.
I ran my hands through my apparently fast drying hair and looked in the mirror gasping. My green eyes shone with happiness (something I haven’t seen in long) and my used-to-be shoulder length dirty blonde hair, now reached my waist, and shone brightly in a rich blonde color. My eyelashes were black now (they used to be brown-ish) and made my eyes look pretty and girly without the need of any make-up. My lips were full and soft, and were now a soft pick color instead of my normally red-ish and chapped lips. My skin, which had a few spots and freckles, was now clear and soft, without any type of mark. I admired myself in the mirror a while until I finally snapped out of it.
I noticed while I bathed I still had some scars from the previous abuse from my ‘parents’. I wish they could just have gone away I thought bitterly.
Sighing, I grabbed my hair, and put it in two pigtails with bandages, having not found any hairbands. And finally, taking my stuff, I made my way back to the Hokage.
“I see you’re done,” the Hokage said after he let me in. I had knocked of course.
“Hai,” I said, and then smiled a little. I was already getting used to this place.
"Alison, t-" the Hokage started. However someone entered and interrupted.
"Hokage-sama!"
"What is it? Is Naruto causing trouble again?" the Hokage asked.
"Yes! He's painting over the Hokage monument!"
"That Naruto, " the Hokage muttered tiredly. “As for you Alison, follow me. I have a feeling Iruka will be there. We will enroll you in school."
"Okay," I said as I followed the Hokage silently, smiling. I'm meeting Naruto!
I guess the Naruto world is kind of cool. Harry, if you only knew, you’d be so jealous. I smiled, well, let’s meet Naruto.
