Charlie quickly ran back upstairs. He felt as if he was going to faint.

'I am a disgusting person. How can I be so selfish. I should have not told Angelina about all this. I should stop playing the victim. It's my selfishness, that I want Angelina to keep on waiting for me, her whole life. It's my selfishness that I want everything and everyone to act like as I please. My selfishness is the reason for the sadness of multiple people.

It was my selfishness that took my mother's life.' Charlie's thoughts were running wild. He knew what he should do.

Charlie couldn't sleep the whole night. He got up from his bed at 5 a.m. He went to check the guest room, Angelina and Ryan were still sleeping.
He went downstairs, took out the vacuum from the cupboard and started to clean the house.

Angelina woke up at 8 a.m. She slept on the bed while Ryan was still sleeping on the couch. She was feeling really guilty for kissing Ryan. She was really overwhelmed at that time and wasn't able to stop herself. She never saw Ryan as someone more than friend.

When Angelina went downstairs, Charlie was already making breakfast after taking shower. He was looking cheerful and energetic. Quite contrast, with the last night.

She didn't interrupted Charlie and rather went upstairs again. Ryan was awake again now. She had already told everything that happened in Charlie's room to Ryan, last night. But sudden change in Charlie's behavior made her a little worried.

"I think he is happy to see you again." Ryan told her.
"I also wanted to ask you one thing, do you think Edward and Bella are having an affair?" Angelina asked Ryan.

"Not at all. If you have observed Edward's behavior, you must have seen he is really kind hearted. He cares for everyone. Maybe he feels bad for Bella and trying to cheer her up. I think they are just friends.

No one is going to believe you, if you tell them that you and Edward are just friends. He cares for you so much.
So stop overthinking, it's just Edward's nature. He is not betraying Charlie. I also think Charlie is having some psychological disorder due to which he is suspicious of everyone. It's quite common in police officers." Ryan assured Angelina.

Angelina felt better after Ryan's assurance. Maybe Charlie is just imagining things, she thought.
"I think I should call Edward, where is he now?" Angelina said and picked up her phone to call Edward.

"Hi! Edward. Where are you?" Angelina asked Edward on phone.

"Angelina, actually I and Bella are going to Texas." Edward replied.

"Why?" Angelina sounded surprised.

"Actually Bella's childhood friend is in hospital in a really critical condition. Bella got a call, last night, when we going to the restaurant. She was really upset and wanted to go to Texas as soon as possible. So, I decided to go with her."Edward explained.

"Ohh! You're so kind Edward. But did you or Bella informed Charlie?" asked Angelina.

"Ohh! As if he cares." Edward replied. "Tell him we will back in few days."

"Okay" Angelina replied and hanged the call.

"Ryan, you're right. Edward is just trying to help Bella and Charlie has misunderstood." Angelina told Ryan with a smile.

Ryan and Angelina got ready and went downstairs to meet Charlie. The house was looking cleaner and well organized. Charlie has already prepared the breakfast.

During breakfast Charlie asked "Will you two stay here with me for some days?"

"That's what I was going to suggest." Angelina told Charlie.

"Yeah! It would be fun." Ryan added.

Angelina and Ryan stayed at Charlie's house for about two weeks. Angelina was really happy to see Charlie improving. He looked more healthy and happy now. He is taking care of himself and his house. He keeps helping Ryan and Angelina in household chores. All three of them, spend hours talking and telling each other stories. Ryan and Charlie have become good friends now.

Angelina and Ryan have grew close too. Angelina is really impressed with Ryan. His therapy was working wonders for Charlie, she felt a bit guilty too as she earlier doubted his skills.

"You two look really great together." Charlie said one day, while eating dinner. Angelina was happy to see Charlie moving on.

But it was only Charlie, who knew how difficult it is to pretend to be happy, when your life is falling apart in front of your eyes. His wife gone away with a man for weeks now, whenever Angelina called Edward to ask when were they coming back, Edward always told that Bella's friend was in a critical condition and he can't say for sure. Charlie felt like crying when he saw Angelina and Ryan, happy together. But he always pretends to like them as a couple and wants Angelina to move on and be happy.

"Do you love Angelina?" Charlie asked Ryan, one day while both were preparing the dinner.

"Umm, yes." Ryan said, a little blushed.

"Will you marry her and keep her happy?" Charlie asked.

"Bro, you're sounding like Angelina is  your daughter."Ryan laughed.

"Please keep her happy. It's my last wish to see her happy." Charlie said.

"Last wish?"Ryan sounded confused.

"Nevermind " Charlie replied and diverted his focus back to work.

"Thanks Angelina. Charlie has improved so much. He is better and happy at work too. I was really scared of losing my friend." Patrick said to Angelina. They both were sitting in Charlie's living room, while Ryan and Charlie were making the dinner. Patrick, Charlie's childhood friend and colleague was really pleased to see his friend in a better mental state.

"You should thank Ryan too. It would  not have been possible without his help." Angelina said.

"Dinner's ready." Charlie called out.

"I will leave now. By the way, you're leaving tonight, right? " Patrick asked Angelina.

"Yes, tonight. Why don't you have dinner with us?" Angelina replied.

"No! Selena had already called me to tell that the dinner is ready. I should hurry otherwise, she will get mad at me." Patrick said with a smile and said goodbye to everyone.

After dinner, Ryan went upstairs to complete his packing. Angelina and Charlie were sitting on the sofa, watching TV.

"I really loved that you stayed here. Thanks." Charlie said.

"Ohh! Don't worry. It was my pleasure. And by the way, Edward and Bella are coming back tomorrow too." Angelina said.

"Great." Charlie sounded a bit dull.

"Charlie, promise me you will try to improve your relation with Bella." Angelina said.

"I will try. Umm, I wanted to give you something. " Charlie said and pulled a ring from his pocket.

"This is the ring you gave me on our first anniversary. I want to give it back to you." Charlie gave Angelina the ring.

"I want you to move on in life, Angelina. I think Ryan is a great guy for you. But it's up to you. I think it would be better for both of us, if we try to forget our past." Charlie said.

"Yes, Charlie. I understand. I think we should not contact each other after today. It would be great for our future. We both should move on and see what more life can offer." Angelina said while holding the ring tightly in her hand.

"Please forgive me for hurting you so many times. Just remember I love you and my best wishes will be with you and your partner forever." Charlie said, his eyes sparkling.

"My love will be with you forever too." Angelina replied.

'Love is not holding others for your selfishness but Love is wanting your loved ones to be happy and she will be happy with Ryan.' Charlie thought.

"Did you ever get any information about your mother?" Charlie asked.

"She lives with me." Angelina replied.

"WHAT! REALLY" Charlie was shocked.

"I thought I told you earlier too. Maybe you were quite emotional at that time to notice. I forgave her. You know, forgiveness can save lives."Angelina said.

"Well, I want to warn you, be a little cautious with your mother and Edward. They both are quite shady." Charlie warned.

Angelina nodded. She found it a bit funny. Police officers are really suspicious of everyone.

"Taxi has arrived." Ryan was coming downstairs with the bags.

"I'll help you." Charlie said and took one of the bag from Ryan's hand.

"Angelina we will miss you." said Selena who had came to see off Angelina. "Next time, please stay at our home too." Patrick added.

"Sure" Angelina said with a smile. But she knew, she is never going to come here again.

"Bye" Charlie said. "Bro, take care of yourself." Ryan said to Charlie.

"Sure! And don't forget your promise." Charlie reminded Ryan.

"Yes, I'll never forget it." Ryan replied.

One chapter of her life was over. Now she can finally forget her past and move to present. Angelina wanted to forget all people of her past: Charlie, Patrick, Selena, her dad, her fake dad, Carl. Now her life will revolve around her new family and friends which includes: Ryan, Edward, Emma and her mom, July.
