The Oncoming Storm and the Goddess of Time
"And then he decides to start going on about 'wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff' for some reason," Martha laughed as she and Jessie told the SHIELD team, the Avengers save Thor and Steve, and Jack all about their adventures with this version of the Doctor.
Jemma grinned and shook her head. "It's like you never left him," she commented.
"I never really did," Jessie told her, looking up at the black sky. "But it was . . . tough," she admitted with a sigh, leaning on her palm. "Those times when the Doctor wasn't seeing me."
"But he does now," Coulson told her, nodding to her rings. "I'm telling you, I've seen odd stuff in my time as a SHIELD agent . . . but an ex agent of mine transformed into an alien marrying the alien she ran off with in the first place? That is something."
Jessie snorted loudly at the same time as Jack. "That's surprising you, Agent Coulson?" Jack asked with a laugh. "They've had dibs on each other way back to when they were Big Ears and Whiskey."
"Whiskey?" Jessie repeated as Clint and Tony coughed into their hands. "You're calling me Whiskey?!"
"First thing I noticed about you, whiskey colored eyes!" Jack protested, holding up his hands as May cracked a grin.
Jessie rolled her eyes. "I would've thought it had been something else," she muttered, and this time, the four Avengers really did burst out laughing.
Jack mock glared at her. "But still," he complained, folding his arms and leaning back. "It's true. You did have dibs on each other."
"I knew it then, too," Jemma admitted with a sigh. "That's one of the reasons why I was so dead set on getting to the Doctor. I couldn't believe he would've let that happen to you because of what he felt for you."
Jessie beamed at her. Ever since the Valiant, the SHIELD team had been adjusting to her, much like the Doctor had been adjusting to her since Manhattan in the 1930s. May had gone back to threatening to kill the Doctor after hearing about what had taken place in 1913, but Jemma had beamed when Jessie told them what had happened on Asgard. Fitz had been completely taken about the Weeping Angels ("They send you back in time?!") and Coulson had just . . . listened.
And she had missed it. And unfortunately, every spot she'd planned for the wedding had been taken, but they had still been invited as witnesses.
Speaking of weddings . . .
She looked up at the sky, frowning. "I'm gonna go check on him," she decided, standing up and dusting off her pants. "Don't go killing each other now."
Jack mock faked throwing a punch at Bruce, who ducked jokingly, much to the amusement of Natasha and Clint. Jessie rolled her eyes and started off in the direction she knew the Doctor would be lighting the Master's funeral pyre. She'd offered to stay with him, but he'd said he wanted to do it alone.
Now, she wasn't giving him a choice.
She saw the flames when she was just a few yards away, and the lone figure watching it burn. She walked up silently and reached for the Doctor's hand, and he stiffened. She frowned. "What's - ?"
He merely turned, grabbed her face, and gave her the fiercest kiss of her life. She gave a squeak of surprise and looked at him wide-eyed when he pulled away. "Not that I didn't enjoy that, but what was that for?"
"One year and one day," the Doctor reminded her, arm around her as they watched the Master's funeral pyre burn out. "That's how long it's been since I've kissed you."
"Fair point," she admitted, leaning into his embrace. "It was hard living underground, too. Poor Martha. But she still . . . sort of had me."
The Doctor nodded. "She was from my last self's time, wasn't she?"
"One of the lasts things she said: 'My head, it's killing me,'" Jessie quoted. "Just before you took the Vortex out of me."
The Doctor nodded again, a little absently. Jessie looked at the fire burning before speaking up. "We've got everyone in the same place right now . . . and I seem to recall that I've still got this - " She waved her left hand at him. "To make official."
The Doctor smirked at her. "Then we have some planning to do."
Jessie laughed as they left the pyre burning, heading back towards the TARDIS.
They had a few stops to make.
***
The first one was to New Mexico. They avoided the SHIELD agents down there so a couple of Asgardians - Sif, Loki, Thor, and Odin - could be picked up.
From there, it was utter chaos.
The SHIELD team, Tony, Bruce, Thor, and Odin were getting the ceremony ready on one of the black sand beaches of Hawaii (Jessie insisted, and who was the Doctor to deny her anything at this point?) while Jessie, Martha, Natasha, and Sif ran around London, avoiding the Doctor, Jack, Clint, and Loki at all costs. It was interesting work, trying to make that work, and it usually involved the two agents doing a quick check around a certain street before taking off again. It had been Sif's idea to stick to a silver, gold, and violet theme among them all, and Natasha quickly put in that Martha had to be wearing the purple. Jessie took one look at how her hair clashed against the dark purple dress Martha had chosen and wrinkled her nose in agreement. That left her with the silver wedding gown. Of course, several times throughout the day, Jessie caught the Doctor's thoughts in her mind, trying to get out of everything, but being the "supportive" friends they were, Jack and Clint kept him where he was with Loki threatening him once or twice. That made the four women snicker every time.
As soon as they made it back to the beach, Jessie and the girls were deadlocked by the SHIELD team in their suite area in a hotel nearby, much to the bride's and groom's chagrin. Tony had even gone to the effort to make sure there was vibranium in the walls of Jessie's suite so she wouldn't try to escape. Jessie swore more than once that she was going to kill May and Jemma when she got out, much to the two women's amusement.
The ceremony itself was sweet and simple. Odin was the one to lead them in their vows, Martha and Jack beaming at them, Sif smiling, and Loki for once not looking impatient with anything formal. There was a little confusion at first when Odin handed the Doctor a double-bladed knife, but the Doctor leaned down to explain to Jessie. "Cut your dominant hand, and I cut mine," he whispered. "It's a blood bond. It permanently binds us together."
Jessie nodded her understanding and held out her right hand palm up, and the Doctor placed one end of the knife on top of her palm, laying his right palm on top of the blade as well. Odin drew the knife through their skin, and they clasped their hands together tightly their blood mixing together, and the gold of the Vortex swirled around their entwined hands, healing the cuts to scars.
It was as if there was some part of her mind that was unlocked, but it wasn't . . her. It was the Doctor, flooding every part of her mind. Memories of his past, from his first self all the way to the one standing before her, every companion, every enemy, every feeling, just . . . everything about him. She let out a soft gasp and felt him grip her hand tighter, and she knew that as his memories flew through her, the same was happening to him. Her eyes fluttered open and met his brown ones, and he gave her a soft smile. "All right there?" he asked.
She smiled. "Fantastic," she replied.
He grinned. "Molto bene."
"You may now kiss the bride," Odin told him.
He willingly did it, and Jessie wound her arms around his neck, pulling him tighter, and Jack wolf whistled behind them, which led to the roaring of laughter from Clint and Tony, and she grinned into the kiss, shaking her head and turning, she and the Doctor holding up their still clasped hands. Martha had tears in her eyes, not afraid to show them, unlike Sif, who was obviously trying not to. Jessie just laughed at them as the Doctor led her back down the beach, leaning into his embrace, looking down as the rings on her fingers glowed brighter in the setting sun.

"That's better," she huffed as she collapsed into her seat at the reception, stretching her freed legs out.
The Doctor raised an eyebrow. "What? You didn't like the dress?"
"Oh, don't get me wrong, I loved the dress," she assured him with a grin. "The look on your face was worth it." He cleared his throat, and from his other side, Jack gave Jessie a double thumbs up. "But this one - " Jessie smoothed out the skirt of the white dress she was wearing. "Shorter sleeves, shorter skirt, feels like I can actually move."
"Considering you were standing for more than half of the ceremony," Martha agreed before looking at Jack. "Is it me who goes first, or is it you?"
"That would be you," Jack replied.
"Oh, good Lord, here we go," Jessie groaned in mock annoyance, and the Doctor chuckled before winding an arm around her shoulders.
Martha stood up with Jack, him tapping a spoon on his glass. "Everyone's attention?" Martha called, and everyone looked at her. "Right, ladies go first," she began, grinning as she looked at Jessie and the Doctor. "First time I met these two, I thought they were bonkers. Completely bonkers. They show up in the hospital I work at and start babbling on about Benjamin Franklin like they'd actually seen him before. And this was back before I didn't believe time travel was possible." She pointed at Clint, who raised his hands, Natasha shaking her head with a smirk. "They saved the lives of everyone in that hospital and asked me if I wanted a trip. That turned into another. And another. Until finally, he blows up on her, and I just had to stay. Sexual tension was too high."
"I can believe that," Fitz commented, and Jemma whacked him in the arm.
Martha grinned. "And from there, things started getting better between the two of them. And then the Family decided to try their luck at getting their lives. And this idiot - " She pointed at the Doctor. " - finally got the guts to admit he loved my best friend." She grinned. "And I couldn't be happier that I got to watch this all play out. I know how hard it was, struggling to adjust to everything that you've been through since Canary Wharf, and I can honestly say I wish I'd known the two agents who aren't here with us today." Jessie smiled at Martha, touched that she'd mentioned Skye and Saleen. "They'd be proud of both at you, and probably smack the Doctor for taking so long," she joked, and the Doctor winced, and Jessie patted his arm. "So . . . " Martha raised her glass. "The Doctor and the Bad Wolf!"
The others echoed the call, and then Jack grinned. "Oh, this is going to be fun."
"Oh, save us the torture," Jessie groaned, and Coulson, Tony, and Thor laughed.
Jack grinned. "Oh, no. My turn." He grinned wider. "The first time I met these two, they were completely different. This guy - " He pointed at the Doctor. "Wore leather all the time, had these huge ears. She - " He pointed to Jessie. "Was tinier, had darker hair, and I swear, didn't like me at all."
"Says the one who kept flirting with me when it was obvious I wasn't interested," Jessie snorted.
Jack shrugged. "I was different then."
"You know who you're talking about, right, Captain?" the Doctor asked mildly.
Jack raised his glass. "Touché." The Doctor nodded, and Jack continued. "Anyway, even then, they still had things for each other but were either too scared to tell each other, or they just didn't want to admit it. Personally, I think it's a little bit of both, but that's just me." He shook his head. "But the Doctor died to save her. I know that for a fact. He'd do anything for her. I've been living for over a hundred years now, and I've watched them closely. When I heard about Canary Wharf, I admit it, I wanted to kill him, probably more than the SHIELD team, and don't any of you try to contradict me on that," he warned, pointing at the four of them. "That was my little sister, regardless if she's not my sister or not. And when I found out during the Utopia Project that she was still alive, I was ecstatic. They'd finally come clean, and . . . well." He held out his hands. "I doubt we'd all be sitting here if anything else had happened. Am I right?" He grinned. "So, without further ado . . . " He raised his glass as well. "The Doctor and Jessie!"
Tony let out a whoop at that, and Jessie laughed, curling up into the Doctor's side as she beamed around at everyone that had come: SHIELD, the Avengers besides Steve, Martha, Jack, and the Asgardians.
And she froze. "Oh, hell," she cursed.
"What?" the Doctor asked.
She buried her face into his suit. "Who's going to tell Steve what happened?" she groaned.
That got a round of laughter from everyone there. Count on Jessie to concentrate on that thing alone right after her wedding.

Sorry if it wasn't all that and more. I'm rubbish at weddings, especially my own characters'. Jessie's reception dress is off to the side.
And the epilogue should be up soon, and then . . . done. Wow.
