Doctor No More, Bad Wolf Leaving
"Get down!" the Doctor shouted as they burst into the TARDIS from the "empty" planet they'd been on. Jessie grabbed Martha and pulled her down, ducking an energy laser that went "bang!" onto the TARDIS console. The Doctor shut the doors before running to them. "Did they see you?" he demanded.
"I don't know!" Martha stammered.
"But did they see you?"
"I don't know! I was too busy running!"
"Martha, Bad Wolf, it's important," he told them. "Did they see either of your faces?"
"No," Jessie replied, shaking her head. "No, they couldn't have. We were running by then."
He nodded. "Off we go!" He took the TARDIS into flight before an alarm went off, and he looked at a computer in surprise. "Argh! They're following us!"
"You're kidding me!" Jessie gasped, looking over his shoulder.
"How can they do that?" Martha asked. "You've got a time machine!"
"Stolen technology," the Doctor replied. "They've got a Time Agent's vortex manipulator. They're never going to stop, unless - " He broke off, a thoughtful look on his face. "I'll have to do it," he whispered before turning. "Do you trust me?" he asked Jessie.
She nodded instantly. "Any day, any time."
He turned to Martha. "Martha, you trust me, don't you?"
"Of course I do!"
"Because it all depends on you."
"What does?" Martha demanded. "What am I supposed to do?"
The Doctor took a deep breath and pulled out two ornate fob watches, one of them glistening silver, the other gleaming gold. "Take these watches, because our lives depend on it," he told Martha. These watches, Martha. The watches are us."
"Right," Martha said, obviously confused. "OK. Gotcha." The Doctor nodded and turned to do something before Martha shook her head. "No! Hold on! Completely lost!"
"Me too," Jessie added, looking at him. "What do you mean, the watches are us?"
"Those creatures, the Family, they're hunters," he replied rapidly. "They can sniff out anyone, and us being Time Lords, we're unique. They can track us down across the whole of time and space."
"Oh, great," Jessie groaned. "Is there good news?"
"They can smell us. They haven't seen us. And their life span'll be running out, so we hide. Wait for them to die."
"But they can track us down," Martha said in confusion.
"That's why I've got to do it." He took a deep breath, looking at Jessie. "We have to stop being Time Lords. We have to become human."
"You're kidding me!" Jessie gasped as he lowered a headset down from the ceiling.
"Never thought I'd use this," he muttered. "All the times I've wondered."
"What does it do?" Martha asked.
"Chameleon Arch. Rewrites our biology. Literally changes every single cell in our bodies. I've set it to human." He looked at Jessie. "I'm sorry, I really am," he told her, "but even half a Time Lord could be dangerous. I have to do this."
Jessie nodded firmly. "Don't worry about it. As long as I'm going first."
The Doctor gave a grim smile and nodded, unclasping the gold watch and fitting it in. "Now, the TARDIS will take care of everything," he told her. "Invent a life story, find a setting, and integrate us." He looked at Martha. "Can't do the same for you," he told her. "You'll just have to improvise. At least I should have just enough residual awareness to let you in."
"But, hold on," Martha told him before the Doctor started the Arch. "If you're going to rewrite every single cell, isn't it going to hurt?"
The Doctor looked at Jessie and took a deep breath. "Oh, yes."
Jessie nodded, letting him fit the headset on her. "Just do it."

It was two months after the new teacher and librarian had joined the Farringham School for Boys, and Matron Joan Redfern had yet to figure out just who these two were.
History teacher John Smith had brought a maid with him, named Martha Jones. She worked for the school now, roomed with an older woman named Jenny. He was always reading, but he was still a little distant. And he did always stammer a little when she was around. Joan smiled as she thought about it as she walked around the infirmary. He had his head in the clouds, definitely. He was something else entirely.
But if that was the history teacher, then it was no wonder how different the librarian was. She wasn't even from the area.
Librarian Johanna Rossini had joined around the same time John had, and she had instantly made everyone warm up to her, even if she was from out of the country from Australia, of all places. She laughed easily, she joined in conversations, and she had an obsession over books. She practically lived in her library, she spent so much time in it. But she was different, too. She stuck up for Martha, and if she heard any staff member insulted, the punishment was a half hour stacking books on her shelves. She was a rather pleasant woman, but what Joan found the most odd about her, she was one of the few women not interested in John.
Joan sighed, folding another cloth and straightening her apron. Yet another day was about to begin in 1913. She had to be ready.

"Oi!" Martha heard the Bad W - Johanna shout furiously at some unlucky boys. "You two! What're you doing to Latimer?"
"Miss Rossini - "
"I doubt I want to know. Library, history, by author, alphabetically. Now!"
Martha grinned as she passed the woman on her way to John's room. "Miss Rossini," she greeted.
"Good morning, Martha," she replied cheerfully before smiling at the two boys marching up the stairs. "Off you go, then!"
They entered the library, and Johanna smirked as she closed the library, followed by the telltale sound of a lock clicking.
Martha didn't pity those boys at all.
She sighed as she carried her breakfast tray towards John's room. The Doctor and the Bad Wolf were gone. In their places were two humans she didn't know. But two thirds of their time in 1913 were almost done.
She couldn't wait.

The Doctor and Jessie are now John Smith and Johanna Rossini. Who's really excited to see what I do with this? :) I know how "Family of Blood" is going to start off and what happens at the end, but other than that . . . nope. Johanna Rossini's fob watch on the right since we all know what the Doctor's is like.
But I am excited as heck!
