C H A P T E R ~ O N E

"Come on, push harder." Murphy grunted, beads of sweat starting to roll down his forehead.

"I am." Jasper snapped back, trying to push the couch through the small door frame.

"Maybe if you guys tried turning it, then it would probably fit." Monty suggested, watching as his two best friends struggled to fit the big couch through the small doorframe of Murphy and Jaspers new apartment.

"Okay, let's do that." Murphy sighed, turning the couch to the left. Jasper nodded his head, following Murphy's movements.

After a few more minutes of struggling, cursing, and even a few tears, the two boys finally managed to get the couch into their apartment.

"Finally. God, that was stressful." Jasper panted, flopping onto the couch.

"Come on, we still have lots of boxes to bring in." Murphy said, pulling Jasper to his feet. The three boys walked back into the hallway. They each picked up a box, bringing them into the apartment.

"There's one more box in the hall." Monty announced, setting a box of plates down in the kitchen.

"Okay, I'll go get it." Murphy replied, walking back into the hallway. As he bent down to pick up the box he heard the elevator doors open, followed by the sound of a little girl crying.

Murphy turned around, his eyes landing on a man that couldn't be older than twenty-five, and a little girl that's probably five or something. The man looked exhausted as he carried the girl.

"Come on Addy, please stop crying." He begged the girl, but the tears only fell harder. Murphy stood up, the box in his hands. The mans eyes went wide as he realized someone else was in the hallway.

He sent Murphy a shy smile, mouthing the word 'sorry'. Murphy returned his smile with a shrug.

"Daddy, who is that?" The little girl, that Murphy now knew as Addy, asked the man. She wiped a few tears away as she looked at Murphy.

"I'm Murphy." He smiled, walking over to them.

"I'm Adelaide. But people call me Addy." She grinned, forgetting why she was even crying in the first place.

"Nice to meet you, Addy." Murphy shook her small hand, earning a giggle from the small child.

"And I'm Bellamy." The man said with a smile. Now that Murphy was closer he could see all the details of Bellamys face. He had tan skin, with light freckles covering his cheeks. He had dark brown eyes, behind a curtain of black curly hair.

"Did you just move in?" Bellamy asked, his eyes flickering to the box in Murphy's hands.

"Oh, uh yeah. My roommate, Jasper, and I just moved into 714. What about you two?"

"Well Addy and I live in 715." Bellamy replied with a smile, gesturing to his own apartment.

"Cool. Maybe sometime we could ha-"

"Murphy?" Jasper called, poking his head into the hallway. His eyes landed on Murphy, then on Bellamy and Addy.

"Oh, sorry, hi. I'm Jasper." He smiled, walking over to them.

"I'm Bellamy, and this is my daughter Addy. We live across the hall from you." Bellamy replied, setting Addy on the ground since his arm was getting tired. She walked over to Jasper, holding out her hand. Jasper took her small hand, giving it a shake.

"It's nice to meet you Addy." He said, causing a grin to break out onto the girls face.

"Well, we need to get going." Bellamy sighed, pulling out his keys.

"Okay, well, we'll see you around." Murphy said, walking back into his apartment with Jasper following close behind.

"He seems cool." Jasper said, walking over to the couch.

"Yeah, he does." Murphy agreed, sitting down next to Jasper.

"Who?" Monty asked, walking out of the kitchen with a bag of chips.

__________

"Daddy?" Addy whined, dragging out the 'a'.

"Yes, Princess?" Bellamy asked, turning away from the pan of eggs to look at the young girl.

"Can we invite Murphy and Jasper over for breakfast?" She asked, climbing onto the bar stool.

"That's nice of you to ask, but I don't think we have enough food." Bellamy chuckled, turning back to the pan of eggs. "I haven't gone grocery shopping yet."

"Okay." Addy pouted, crossing her arms and setting her head down on them.

Bellamy turned off the stove top before getting Addy's princess Ariel plate from the cupboard. He scooped some eggs onto her plate, setting it down in front of her. Bellamy walked over to the fridge to get some juice.

But all that was inside was some Chinese takeout from last night, a half empty jug of milk, some bread, and some slices of cheese. He let out a sigh, grabbing the jug of milk. He got Addy's matching cup, pouring milk into it and setting it down beside her plate.

"Eat up, kiddo." He smiled, setting the milk back into the fridge.

"I'm not a kid." Addy huffed, crossing her arms.

"Then what are you?" Bellamy chuckled, raising his eyebrow.

"I'm a dinosaur." She replied, making claws with her hands and letting out a growl.

"Well this little dinosaur needs to eat her breakfast, because if she doesn't, the tickle monster will get her!" Bellamy said, tickling Addy's neck. She let out a squeal as she swatted Bellamy's hand away.

"Okay, okay." She giggled, taking a sip of her milk. Bellamy smiled as he watched his daughter. She was wearing a pair of pyjama shorts that was covered in bunny's, with a matching shirt.

Her blonde hair was up in a messy ponytail, strands of hair coming out to frame her face. Even though her hair was blonde, like her mothers, she looked exactly like Bellamy. She had big brown eyes, with freckles covering her cheeks.

Bellamy smiled before walking towards his room. He pulled of his T-shirt and sweatpants, throwing them into the over piling laundry basket. He walked over to his closet, pulling on a pair of black jeans, a black tank top, and a red flannel. He grabbed a beanie, pulling it onto his messy hair as he walked back to the kitchen.

Addy was still sitting at the counter, her back to Bellamy. She was swinging her legs and humming a song that Bellamy recognized as 'Give Me Love' by Ed Sheeran. Bellamy smiled before walking over to her, he kissed her temple.

"What do you want to do today?" He asked, sitting down next to her.

"I really want to play with Murphy and Jasper." She replied, turning to look at Bellamy.

"Do you have a crush on them or something?" Bellamy teased with a grin.

"No! Boys have cooties." She shivered, a disgusted look on her face. Bellamy chuckled, shaking his head.

"I just want to play with them, they seem fun." Addy shrugged.

"Ok, we can go over there in half an hour and see if they want to play. But first you have to get dressed." Bellamy instructed, causing Addy to grin in response.

"Thank you for breakfast." She yelled, jumping off of the chair and running to her room. Bellamy slid out of his chair, picking up Addys dishes and setting them down in the sink. He turned on the water and grabbed the sponge, cleaning the cup and plate.

After drying his hands he walked to Addys room. She already managed to pull on an outfit.

"What do you think?" She asked doing a spin.

Bellamy looked down at her clothes. She was wearing black leggings, a 5 Seconds of Summer shirt, and a pink tutu.

"You look beautiful." Bellamy answered, earning a big grin from Addy.

"But you need some shoes too." Bellamy said, walking over to Addys closet. He grabbed a pair of pink Vans. He handed them to Addy, tying them once she pulled them on.

Bellamy got a ponytail holder from the bathroom before walking back into Addys room. He sat down on the bed, Addy standing between his legs. He grabbed a comb and combed her hair, pulling it into a messy bun on top of her head.

"You brushed your teeth, yeah?" Bellamy asked, standing up from the bed.

"Yup." Addy smiled, popping the 'p'.

"Alirghty, are you ready to go then?" Addy thought for a moment before walking over to her toy chest, she opened it up, grabbing a Barbie and a monster truck before walking back to her dad.

"Ready."

"Okay, then let's go."
