Jesse's POV

"And then we made out one more time in front of our house!" Chase exclaims and Shawn squeals and claps his hands. "I love him so much!" He says, with a dreamy, lovestruck look in his eyes.

"I'm so happy for you and Diego! You both are so crazy about each other!" Shawn all but shouts. "I've been with Dean on a few occasions when Diego has called to gush about you, and let me tell you, he is smitten!"

Chase giggles and hugs his knees to his chest. Raised cheeks and crinkles at the corners of eyes, his lips pulled up in a contented smile, showcasing his milky white teeth, my twin looks truly happy and full of hope. I can't help the wide smile that adorns my face and I get up to squish him in a hug.

"I'm thrilled that Diego makes you so happy and that he treats you with the love and respect you deserve." I trap Chase in a tight hug and he giggles, hugging me back just a tightly.

"I want a hug too!" Shawn says sulkily, and I beckon for him to join us on the couch. Chase releases me while I continue to hug him with one arm. Shawn sits on the other side of me, and being careful not to touch Chase, embraces me in a hug.

I keep one hand around each of them and we stay snuggled up like this on the couch for a few minutes. We haven't all hung out together in a while so we're all being dramatically clingy.

"What are you doing for your birthday in a few weeks?" Chase asks, readjusting himself so that he is facing Shawn and I.

Shawn also sits up before he starts talking. "I'll just invite you guys over for dinner or something."

"Didn't you want to have a party? You've been saying for years that you were going to have a massive twenty-fifth birthday party," Chase replies, giving Shawn a skeptical look.

Shawn shrugs. "I changed my mind."

Chase pouts and folds his arms over his chest. "I'll still come if you have a big party. It's your birthday and I can't miss that. I'm supposed to be working on trying things that I used to do or liked to do."

"But you've always hated parties!" Shawn exclaims, with a pout.

Though Chase has been to parties or clubs with us in the past, it's never really been his thing. The large crowds and drinking were his hang ups. However, although he's definitely not a good dancer, he loves dancing, so he usually enjoyed himself.

"That's not true, I just don't like some elements. I don't want you to change your plans because of me. Besides, it'll be good practice for me." Chase has a defiant look in his eyes, and so does Shawn, as they continue to stare at each other. Chase ends up looking away first and he releases an irritated sound before pouting.

"You should have the party," I tell Shawn and he gives me a puzzled look while Chase smiles triumphantly. "You've always wanted to celebrate your twenty-fifth like that, so you should do it, you might regret it if you don't. And Chase will probably be too busy making out with Diego to worry about anything," I explain.

"I'm not sure if Diego will come. I'll ask him about his general take on parties and depending on what he says, I'll ask him to come to the party. I don't want to force him into an environment where everyone is drinking," Chase replies before pulling out his phone to message Diego.

Shawn and I peek over to see what he's typing and when Chase doesn't protest, we make ourselves comfortable and openly stare at his screen.

Chase: Hi DiDi!!! Do you go to a lot of parties or go clubbing a lot?

The three dots immediately appear as Diego starts to reply.

My Actual BOYFRIEND!: Hello my precious lamb!!!! Yes? I'm not sure what constitutes a lot, but I'm required to attend a few functions for work. I've also been clubbing with Bryan and Dean whenever they wanted but they both got boyfriends so it's been a while since we've been clubbing. Why? Do you want to come to one of my work functions? I'm allowed to bring a date!!

I watch Chase's face light's up and he elicits tiny giggles before replying.

Chase: I'm not sure? Maybe I can give it a shot?

My Actual BOYFRIEND!: It's in three months, so you have lots of time to decide! But OMG Chase, would you really want to come!!!! These things are always so tedious. If you come with me, we can spend most of the night together! I'll need to do some socialising in the beginning but then you can just hang out with Jesse and possibly Shawn during that time. And once I'm done we can laugh at the dumb things drunk people do together!!!

"Why didn't you tell me you were invited to this fancy party!" Chase exclaims, turning towards us with a pout.

Bryan invited me to the function yesterday. When he cooked breakfast for me, he wrote 'Will you go to the ball with me?' in ketchup. I of course agreed but then I had to ask what on earth he meant. It was then that he told me about the annual ball his company throws for its investors. It's a grand affair and all the executives of his company as well as top donors are invited.

I give Chase a sheepish look. "Bryan asked me not to tell you yet. He said that Diego was going to ask you a month before the ball because he thought that would give him a better chance at receiving a positive response. I'm sorry!"

"Dean's parents will be in town that weekend, so I don't know if we'll be going. You'll be the first to know if Dean and I can come," Shawn chimes in.

My twin is thoughtful for a moment before grinning and saying, "okay, you're both forgiven. If your party goes well, I think I'll go to the ball! It really does seem like it could be fun!" He then turns his attention back to his phone and replies to Diego.

Chase: Ask me again closer to the date, please! I'm not sure yet. But I have a question...

My Actual BOYFRIEND!: Okay! I'll ask you later! What's your question, darling?

Chase: Will you come to Shawn's party with me?

Although I'm sure Chase has no doubt that Diego will readily agree, he is still nervous for the split second it takes Diego to reply.

My Actual BOYFRIEND!: Of course! I'd love to, little lamb!

Chase giggles and sends Diego a row of the kissy face emoji before putting his phone off to the side and turning towards me with an excited grin. "You're meeting Bryan's parents tomorrow?"

It took a week of pestering to get Bryan to schedule lunch with his parents the following weekend. He's really been acting like the world will fall to pieces if we meet. "Yes! I'm so excited but also really worried she won't like me. I've never been in a relationship as serious as this. Bryan assures me that she already loves me but also told me to be prepared for some inappropriate questions after lunch. He managed to convince her to save them for after we eat."

Bryan also showed me some photos of his parents, after I whined that they knew what I looked like but I didn't know what they look like. Esmée is absolutely beautiful and his dad, David, is really hot. If this is what Bryan will look like thirty years from now, sign me up!

I've spent most of the past week googling tips for meeting your boyfriend's parents. Even though Bryan has repeatedly said that she'll adore me and that he's more worried about what I will think of her, I can't help but think I'll do something to mess it up.

"Diego told me about her inappropriate questions, just hearing them from him had me covering my face and wanting to run away." Chase releases a tiny squeak and shudders.

"I'm more worried that I'll disappoint her in some way," I say sulkily.

Shawn smacks me around the back of my head and I groan. Before I can question his actions he says, "what is this nonsense! Since when have you doubted yourself? You are Jesse freaking Lambert! She won't be disappointed and will love you because you're a loveable, impressive young man who is the love of her son's life."

"He's right! Just go there and own the room like you usually do. Don't worry about impressing her, she'll be impressed if you show her how awesome you naturally are." Chase smiles and gives me a quick hug. "You'll be okay!"

I release a long sigh, deciding to push away my doubts and instead focus on the initial excitement that I had when Bryan told me that he would introduce me to his parents. "And you're going to visit Diego's family's graves tomorrow?" I inquire after a moment, shifting to face Chase.

He nods and a sad smile graces his face. "Yes, I'm spending the whole day with Diego and I think I might sleep over. That way he won't be alone during the night either. Even though they died a few years ago, they meant a lot to him. My only goals for tomorrow are to shower him with affection and be there for him."

"Awwwww, he'll be touched by your concern," Shawn squeals wearing the same proud smile that I'm certain I'm wearing. A few months ago, Chase was the one that needed as much support as possible, but now here he is willing and able to comfort his boyfriend. I couldn't be prouder.

We spend the rest of the day updating each other on our lives and watching television. As I drift off to sleep, I can't help but wonder what it will be like to finally meet Bryan's parents.  

Did you know it has been 11 chapters since we had a Jesse POV chapter! Anyway, I'll be back to my usual update times from Sunday.
