Chapter 45 - Chase

Chase's POV

"I'm so excited to meet Bryan's mother!" Jesse exclaims just as I spot Diego and Bryan entering the living room.

Bryan chuckles and hurries over to Jesse, engulfing him in a hug before placing wet kisses all over his face. He squirms and laughs as he tries to escape Bryan's kisses.

My eyes drift to Diego who seems to be taking his sweet time strutting towards me. Will he hug me? Will he give me kisses just like the ones Bryan is giving to Jesse? I hope he'll at least stroke my hair, I really liked when he did that earlier.

Why is he taking so long to get here? It feels like he's moving in slow motion. His arms swing lightly at his sides as he saunters towards me, like a beautiful model owning the runway. Will I ever stop swooning every time I see his breathtaking dimples?

I involuntarily smile as I run my eyes over his body, noticing the way his muscles contract with every step. After what feels like forever he's finally standing in front of me. He reaches out, tangling his hand in my hair and lightly ruffling it. My eyes flutter close and I lean into his touch. Diego chuckles before saying, "come on my honey bee, let's get you some food."

Suddenly very aware of my hunger, I spring up from the couch. "Did you make me pancakes?" I ask Diego, who stops ruffling my hair to intertwine our fingers. Looking down at them, I giggle and use my other hand to trace circles on the back of his hand.

"Of course, I promised pancakes!" Diego gently tugs me towards the door and I hear Jesse squealing for Bryan to put him down as they follow behind us.

Diego releases my hand to pull out my chair which elicits a giggle from me. He drags his chair closer to mine so that when he sits our thighs touch. I tense for a split second, due to his closeness, before instantly relaxing.

However, my annoyingly intuitive boyfriend seems to notice this because he quickly moves his chair away from mine. I pout, turning to him with a questioning gaze and he returns my gaze with a weary look. "Why did you move away?" I question, peering into his dark brown orbs.

"Weren't you uncomfortable?" Diego asks, searching my eyes.

"No!" I immediately reply and Diego raises an eyebrow. I pout and cross my arms, looking down at my lap. "Only for a second before I relaxed," I mumble, still pouting.

Diego chuckles and I feel his hand under my chin, gently pushing my head upwards. I oblige and I'm met with Diego's heart stopping dimples. He gingerly rubs his thumb over my chin, simply gazing at me with an elated yet amused smile. "You're so cute, Chase! Would you like me to sit closer?"

My heart flutters at his words and my pout dissolves into a smile. How can so few words make me feel like I've been given the world?

I nod and Diego removes his hand from my face causing me to produce a soft whimper at the loss of contact. He releases a joyous chuckle before moving his chair and reaching over to rest his hand on my knee.

"You should eat something," Diego says with a soft smile, bringing my attention back to the seemingly deafening sounds my stomach is producing. I gasp and my gaze drifts downwards in embarrassment.

A fluffy pancake catches my eye, instantly replacing the embarrassed feeling with immense hunger. "Oooh that looks good!" I exclaim, picking up my fork and stabbing the closest stack of pancakes.

Jesse and Bryan finally make it to the table, and Jesse looks a lot more flustered than he did a few minutes ago. They sit and Jesse slings his feet over Bryan's lap before Bryan leans down to whisper something in Jesse's ear, causing my twin to turn bright red and lightly smack Bryan's arm.

I giggle at their antics as my attention returns to the pancakes. Before I dig in, I put some pancakes onto Diego's plate and he grins and coos a thank you.

A moan of content sounds in the back of my throat once the fluffy treat enters my mouth. I shovel some scrambled eggs and a piece of sausage into my mouth before continuing to chew. A light pressure in my hair brings me back to reality and I realize that I gravitated towards Diego while eating. Going with my first instinct, I snuggle into his side and release a contented sigh when he momentarily buries his lips in my hair. Amazing food and cuddles from the hottest man to exist, is this a dream?

"What should we do today? This is the first time we've actually all hung out. Unless you two wanted to do something on your own?" Jesse asks, stuffing his mouth with food once he's finished talking.

"Whatever Chase wants to do," Diego replies, gently caressing my thigh.

Jesse turns to me with raised eyebrows and I quickly chew and swallow the food in my mouth. "We can all do something together." I shift a little so that I can see Diego's face. "And we can go on our official first date later?"

"Of course, bumblebee, anything you want." Diego grins before pressing a light kiss to my nose and my heart skips a beat. Just a little lower and he would have kissed my lips! I giggle, turn back to my food and resume eating my breakfast.

"How about karaoke?" Bryan suggests and Jesse instantly agrees.

In my haste to scream no, so that I can avoid Jesse's awful singing, I start choking on the piece of pancake in my mouth. Diego pats my back as I cough, while reaching for a glass of water with his other hand. After chugging half the contents of the glass, I'm relieved to no longer be choking.

"So I guess that's a no for karaoke?" Jesse says with a chuckle and I give him a sheepish smile.

Bryan chuckles. "Okay, how about roller skating?"

The look of horror that flashes across Jesse's face is enough to make me burst into a fit of giggles. "Yes! Let's go roller skating!" I choke out between giggles. Jesse will definitely fall a lot and it'll be hilarious!

However, the horror of what I just agreed to slowly starts setting in and my smile turns to a frown. I did not think this through! They're usually so many people at these rinks. I've only gone a few times but each time it was packed. I shake my head and huff, not wanting to be a party pooper. Maybe it'll be alright.

Jesse scoffs and smacks Bryan's hand. "Hey! You're supposed to be on my side!"

Bryan chuckles again. "I am but I also think it would be fun to watch you flailing around," he teases and pokes Jesse. "And I'll teach you. You'll be a pro in no time!"

Jesse pouts, clearly not happy about this development and if I'm being honest, I'm not sure I want to go anymore either. Bryan smirks before leaning in to whisper in his ear. Jesse grins and blushes before agreeing. "Okay fine, roller skating it is!"

My eyes widen in shock because Jesse definitely hates all physical activity so what could Bryan possibly have whispered?

Nonetheless we finish breakfast with me trying not to overthink the upcoming double date, while Bryan and Diego organise it.

After we finish eating and washing up, we all get ready to leave. We decide to take one car and since Diego lost the coin toss with Bryan, he ends up being the one to drive us there.

Once we arrive, I look around the parking lot noticing the few cars there. Thankfully, they're not that many cars so hopefully it won't be too full. I suck in a deep breath and squeeze my eyes close. I can do this! I'm with Diego and Jesse so if I have a panic attack they can help.

Nope I can't do this. I'm not ready to be around so many people who will be running around and possibly skating into me. I open my eyes and turn to Diego, who is waiting by my opened door. Before I can open my mouth he says, "trust me."

My heart jumps erratically from those simple words and a tiny smile graces my face. I nod as my now clammy hand latches onto his. He grins and pulls me out of the seat, locking the car before we enter the skating rink.

Warm lilac, pink and blue lights bathe the room, lighting up the hardwood roller skating rink. The dark green outer carpet looks almost spotless and soft pop music caresses my ears. A staff member greets us and leads us to the counter so that we can rent the skates. My eyes drift over to the fast food place in the corner and that's when it hits me. Regardless of what direction I look in, I only see a few staff members, no customers.

"Where are the people!" I exclaim, searching my boyfriend's face.

He chuckles and wraps his arms around my waist. "Bryan and I rented the whole rink. The crowds at these places can be a bit rowdy."

My eyes widen and I break into a huge smile. "You know we could have picked somewhere else," I mumble, burying my face in his neck.

"I know, little lamb, but you seemed so excited initially," Diego replies.

How did I find such a considerate boyfriend? I raise my head, still grinning from ear to ear and he smiles back just as widely. Feeling a surge of courage, I shift my head a little and quickly kiss his cheek, right in the middle of his dimple, before promptly looking away. My eyes drift back to his face and Diego's smile somehow widens. He brushes his nose against mine and the feather-like touch causes me to giggle.

A commotion to the side draws our attention and we turn around to find Jesse flat on his butt as Bryan laughs his head off. "I wish I had that on video!" Bryan exclaims, still laughing, but reaching down to help Jesse up.

Jesse's face is beet red but he's laughing just as hard as Bryan, as he struggles to stand on the roller skates. I elicit a tiny giggle. How did he manage to fall in the carpeted area!

Diego and I hurriedly put on our skates as Bryan practically lifts Jesse up and we all head to the rink. Diego goes first and holds out his hand for me to take. I giggle as I take it before stepping into the rink. I wobble a little, but Diego steadies me and we face Bryan and Jesse.

Despite the fact that Jesse is holding both of Bryan's hands, his skates slip out from under him and he plummets to the floor, almost dragging Bryan with him. Diego and I burst out laughing, as does Bryan before he cups Jesse's face and starts peppering kisses all over it.

"I hate all of you," Jesse grumbles as Bryan pulls him up. He's trying and failing to suppress a goofy smile and that just prompts us to laugh harder.

Diego and I skate hand in hand, doing spins and laughing as we dance to the music.

Meanwhile, Jesse falls repeatedly, often pulling Bryan down with him which only adds to our entertainment. When Jesse is finally able to do an entire lap around the rink without falling, we all cheer and congratulate him like he won a Nobel Prize. We do a few laps together since Jesse has finally figured it out, before we get something to eat.

In all, I ended up having a blast but I can't wait for my date with just Diego. Hopefully I'll get a kiss on the lips then.
