Mar Novu is about to set off on his mission to become the Monitor.

"Engaging quantum portal." Mar says and reaches for the rod.

"I wouldn't do that." Lex warns and Monitor tries to contact Xneen, his wife when he turns to see Lex. "Hi. Lex Luther. I'm here to make you an offer I won't let you refuse."

"How did you get in here?" Mar asks him. "Our security protocols are-"

"A joke, but the fact that I was able to circumvent them with astonishing ease is exactly why you need to listen to me." Lex says.

"Xneen?" Mar calls for her again and gets nothing back.

"Is taking a little nap." Lex informs him. "Not to worry. So you are a scientist. Tell me you're not intrigued by what I have to say, or do you get regular visits from humans with future knowledge?"

"Speak." Mar allows him to continue.

"The experiment you're conducting will not only destroy you but your planet and your wife." Lex tells him.

"Another ancients zealot. I am so sick-"

"Don't know who they are. I'm not even from this universe. What I am is from is the future, so I know exactly how your little time jumping experiment will go wrong, and I'm willing to share my future knowledge with you." Lex says.

"And in return?" Mar asks, knowing that he wants something for his efforts.

"Well, I don't cotton to aliens, but you will soon have certain abilities that I will need in order to deal with some, shall we say, super problems popping up in my world." Lex says.

"I don't have any...abilities." Mar breaks to him.

"Stick with me, kid. So what do say? Team up? The brave and the bald?" Lex asks. "So basically you tore a hole in the space time continuum, opened a doorway into something called the antimatter universe."

"Matter and antimatter cannot coexist." Mar tells him.

"Hence a lot of bad stuff happening that we would just as soon not have happen, so I think what we need to do is adjust the ronstrom coefficient." Lex tells him when Kara comes walking in through the doors after crushing it open.

"Lex, we need to talk." Kara tells him as she walks in with Peter behind her. "Mar Novu, do not trust this man with anything! Give him a knife for his food, and no matter how much he thanks you for the dinner, he'll stab you right in the back with it."

"Couldn't you just say he's likely to betray you?" Peter asks her.

"Or the front, I'm not choosy." Lex admits.

"I mean, seriously. All you had to say was he wasn't a man to be trusted." Peter mutters.

"Last time, you caught me by surprise. That's not gonna happen again." Kara promises and looks to Peter. "Get Novu out of here."

"Come with me, sir." Peter asks of him and drags him off as the two Earth-38'ers start to fight.

Mar goes to check on his wife in the control room and Peter sees an explosion go off as the two 38'ers hit each other with their powers.

"Okay, you need to listen to me." Peter asks Mar after he checks on Xneen. "Whatever you do, you cannot use that portal."

"The hairless one warned me." Mar assures him.

"No, this isn't the warning and be done situation. This is a don't do it at all, or we will all die situation." Peter tries to explain as more blasts are fired.

"It is my life's work." Mar tells him.

"Yeah, I've heard that before on my Earth, and guess what? Hundreds of people were killed because of someone's life work." Peter informs him, referring to when they tried to harness the Tesseract energy and they ended up releasing Loki, the Chitauri, even Thanos upon the earth. "But now, trillions of other people's lives, an infinite number will be lost if you go through with this. My world wishes that we had an early warning on what we were doing, and I'm here asking you to not do what we did."

"You just show up here as if by magic and demand belief." Mar clarifies.

"The fact that I'm here at all should be enough proof for a man of science." Peter states and Mar looks closely. "Please...I'm asking on behal of thousands of people across space and time."

"You are a remarkable individual." Mar informs Peter.

"I've heard that most of my life. A Family member told me I would rise to be bigger than everyone. Didn't think it would go as high as a universal savior." Peter says, thinking of Natasha as he sees Kara doing a flip and is still fighting Lex.

"I wonder, is it a double cross if I never trusted you in the first place?" Kara asks Lex.

"Why do you Kryptonians always have to take things so personally?" Lex asks.

"You tried to kill my cousin, you tried to kill my boyfriend, you tried to kill his sister, you tried to kill me, you betrayed Lena, left her with nothing but a ruined name and a broken heart." Kara lists for Lex and goes to hit him with a laser before doing a Spider-Man dodge Peter-38 taught her to dodge his lasers.

Lex keeps trying to hit her with his lasers when Peter comes running in.

"Hey! Stop trying to kill each other already. I got through to Novu, he's not going to use the machine." Peter tells them.

"You just ruined a perfectly good bad guy plan, you know that, new kid?" Lex informs him.

"It's what I do." Peter shrugs when a flash of light surrounds them and they vanishes.

Antimatter universe

They all appear and the other four Paragons are there waiting for them.

"Where are we?" Kara asks and Peter remembers this is the same place as the place he's been seeing in his dreams.

"The Antimatter universe." Daisy informs her.

"At the dawn of time." Sara adds on.

"We arrived and he was already here. The Anti-Monitor." J'onn informs them.

"That's impossible. I stopped him from using the portal." Peter says when his senses go off and he turns to face the monster from his nightmares.

"Some fates are inescapable." The Anti-Monitor informs him as Shadow Demons start flying out from under the ground. "You spoke to one man across countless universes, but within the tapestry of the multiverse, there will always be one Mar Novu who cannot turn from his towering ambition, and in that inevitability, there is destiny. Welcome to mine!"

Oliver then appears behind everyone. "All of you, listen to me. This is why you were selected, you're Paragons."

"Yeah, can we get a little insight on what the hell that means?" Daisy asks, hoping to understand what they're supposed to be doing finally.

"It means you're powerful enough to hold the line, to buy us the time we need." Oliver explains.

"To do what?" Kate asks.

"Rebirth the universe." Oliver replies.

"Like a do-over?" Sara asks.

"The dawn of time is the only place it can happen. I'll light the spark, you fan the flame." Oliver tells them their role here.

"And how do we do that?" Peter wonders.

"You'll know when it's time." Oliver tells him.

"Why do you cosmic types always have to be so obtuse?" Lex questions.

"If I knew, I'd tell you. I don't." Oliver tells them. "All I have is trust."

"Let's do this." Kara says, ready to fight back.

"Activate instant kill." Peter says as his eyes go dark red, ready to stop the cause of his nightmares.

"This is where the fun begins." Daisy mutters and moves her gauntlets to make sure they're secure and starts walking with the others.

The hundreds of shadow demons come charging at them and they all separate and all start using their powers, abilities and weapons to hold them back.

"Die, you Dementor knockoffs!" Peter yells as his mechanical arms stabs four and he uses his actual limbs to attack four more, taking out eight at once.

"This is for Oliver!" Sara yells as she uses her bo-riffle to attack another one of them.

"Idiots! If anyone's gonna take over the universe, it's gonna be me!" Lex shouts as he uses his powers to blast them.

"I'm not planning on dying for a second time!" Daisy promises as she sends a powerful quake through the monsters.

This goes on from left to right, they keep coming from every direction as the Anti-Monitor watches with Oliver.

"It's too late. After 10,000 years, I shall be victorious." Anti-Monitor tells Oliver.

"No, you won't be." Oliver promises.

"Such confidence." Anti-Monitor says. "You believe Reyes prepared you for this fight."

"I believe my entire life prepared me for this fight." Oliver tells him.

"All life ends. Only death is eternal. Only I am eternal." Anti-Monitor replies.

With that, Oliver removes his hood and knows its time to end this. "We'll see about that." He leaps into the air and so does the Anti-Monitor follows him to ground level and the two shoot a beam at one another.

Back with the Paragons, they're fighting off all the Shadow Demons as they circle them and come down in a few groups at a time.

"Is this seriously typical for you guys, too? You know, saving the world?" Daisy asks while she's punching and quaking the monsters.

"Yes!" J'onn says as he punches one.

"No!" Lex shouts, sending a beam out.

"My team and I usually mess things up for the better!" Sara tells her as she takes down two of them at once.

Oliver and the Anti-Monitor are still fighting and are closing in on one another and the Anti-Monitor is getting weaker when Oliver grabs him and energy starts to flow around the two of them.

"You have failed...this...MULTIVERSE!!" Oliver says and lasers leave his eyes into the sky as he starts to rebirth the universe.

The Paragons look and the Shadow Demons all start to fade away.

"Did we do it?" Kara asks.

"So this is what being a hero feels like." Lex says. "Interesting."

"Where's Oliver?" Kate wonders.

Daisy looks around and sees the fight. "There!" She points to them.

They watch and remember what he said about them needing to fan the flame.

"He said you would know what to do." Kara tells Lex.

"I think dying kinda messed with his head." Lex mocks.

"Well, think, you're meant to be the genius." Kate says.

"A genius who's had the fortitude to read the Book of Destiny and retain his sanity." J'onn adds.

"Which is more I can say for Norman." Peter mumbled to himself.

"The Book of Destiny." Lex whispers and takes out the page he used to make him the Paragon of Truth. "I made myself the Paragon of Truth. What if truth can tell us what we need to do?"

"Being what?" Daisy asks.

"Use what's left of the book to fan the flame." Lex explains, quoting Oliver.

"How do we all use the book?" Daisy asks.

Kara then starts to pieces it together for herself. "We focus. A singular, laser-like focus."

"On what?" Peter asks.

"Humanity. Truth. Love. Destiny. Honor. Courage...and Hope." Kara says and the seven of them line up and focus as hard as they can and Oliver holds the Anti-Monitor when they hear as he screams and a giant explosion goes off.

They all make their way up to Oliver as fast as they can and Sara races up it him once they see Oliver dying on the ground as they follow.

"You did it." Oliver congratulated them. "You all did it.."

"What did we do?" Sara asks.

"Just look." Oliver says looking up and the two look up to see a giant ball of light floating around.

"What is it?" Sara asks.

"Is a new universe." Oliver says awing in their work.

"It's kinda tiny for a new universe." Peter comments.

"Wait for it, Peter. It's almost time." Oliver promises when a explosion is heard. "There. You did it."

"No, Oliver, you did it. That's why you need to come back with us, so we need you to hang on, Okay?" Sara pleads to him.

"Sara, this is what the Monitor said would happen. There was an end...and there's a beginning." Oliver says. "Dying is the easy part. I'm at peace. The real heroes...They're the ones keep on going. So keep...going. And don't ever stop. This world, this new world...it needs you. It needs all of its heroes."

Oliver then sheds a tear as he dies and they look up and the universe starts to expand.

"An end." Daisy whispers.

"And a beginning." Kate finishes as a flash of light consumes them all.
