Lucy quietly unlocked Laxus's chipped black door, its hinges squeaking slightly. She glanced up at Natsu, who had quieted down. She hesitantly stepped into the chilled house, unable to hide her unease.

She padded across the floor silently, a ghostly sensation settling upon her. She shivered. She didn't like, nor trust this feeling. She wasn't used to feeling scared anymore. Whoever said that being powerful made you brave was definitley wrong. At the moment, she was actually terrified.

She requipped her katana, anxiety chilling her to the core.

She cautiously opened Laxus's bedroom door. Suddenly, as if a raging storm hit, lightning cracked, throwing her against the wall. She crashed to the floor, regretting even coming in.

"Lucy!" Natsu screamed worriedly.

A pair of sleek, uptilted navy eyes narrowed in the rose-haired male's direction.

"Are you sure this spell will work?" The lavender eyed woman asked skeptically, eyeing the mocha-skinned man.

He rolled his eyes, tugging a bottle off a shelf. It was milky, and a dark red in color. It swirled in its vial as the man spun it in his palm.

"The spell makes the victim's emotions enhance exponentially."

The woman rose an eyebrow, before flipping a few stray toffee locks over her slender shoulder haughtily.

"What good will that do?" She asked briskly, her sharp eyes questioning.

"Well, emotions are in a sense, what controls us. Say this Laxus fellow feels irritation towards someone. That irritation would turn into full out blood-lust. And say he had someone he loathed. Someone, say even in a regular state of mind, he wished he could make disappear. That person would turn into a deep-rooted hatred, that, in his distressed mind, needs to be eliminated."

A smirk slipped onto the woman's diamond-shaped face.

"How about love? How would the potion affect that?" She asked, tapping her pastel pink painted nails against the cherry wood counter.

The man grimaced.

"Well...love is a powerful emotion. The most powerful most would argue. So as expected, the potion alters love dramatically. It usually depends on how much the victim loves a person. If it's a lover or someone the victim especially adores...that love and affection can turn...dark and quite deadly..."

The woman's eyes sparkled as if that was exactly what she had wanted to hear. She laid her chin in her palm, in an attempt to appear nonchalant.

"So...if the victim was deeply in love with someone...what would exactly happen?..." She pressed, her cold calculating opal eyes staring at him. He shuffled uncomfortably, tugging at his cream white button-up shirt.

"The love...turns into obsession. It becomes so intense that the target might keep their loved one chained up, or do something...they might regret."

"Miss...have you ever heard the term, yandere?" He continued, his eyes imploring her to change her mind. No good would come of this potion. But...he knew they were at an impasse. He had a family to feed...and money had been tight for a long time. She had offered to pay him generously, and in exchange, he had given her a banned, powerful potion. He guessed he was to deep in to turn back now or take the potion away from her.

Her smirk only seemed to widen, before breaking out into a shit-eating grin.

"Oh, why yes I have."

"L-Laxus...?" Lucy whispered, still crumpled on the ground. Her head hurt, and she felt like she had been hit by one of Natsu's roars.

She struggled to rise but found it unnecessary. Laxus flashed to her side, startling the blonde, especially when he picked her up, and dashed out of the house.

She heard Natsu's shouts of protest, and the sound of the glass window Laxus had jumped from shattering, but she paid them no mind.

Laxus's eyebrows were scrunched together in pain, as he clutched her to his chest.

"Laxus...what's wrong?" She asked softly. His eyes trailed up to meet hers, and he appeared as if someone had slapped him. He dropped her hastily and scrambled away from her as if she was the devil.

"L-Laxus?!"

He clutched his head, mumbling incoherently. She slowly approached him, her steps slow and apprehensive. She didn't want to startle him.

"...Laxus...?"

He jumped and stared up at her with his wide eyes filled with horror. Lucy nearly cried at how broken he appeared.

"D-Don't come any closer! Blon-Lucy there's something wrong with me! I-I can't seem to control myself!" He exclaimed frantically, his voice laced with panic.

"W-What do you mean?"

"I...I want to do bad things...it's like there's someone else in my head!" He struggled to keep from grabbing Lucy like his mind commanded him to.

"Please, y-you'll have to take me out!" He begged, his hair messy and splayed crazily around his face.

"W-What?! I...I can't beat you!" She protested weakly, her heart throbbing. It wasn't that she couldn't beat him, it was that she didn't want to. And they both knew it.

"Lucy, you have to!"

"Please, Lucy...I don't want to hurt you." A single tear ran down his face, as he continued to fight a raging battle within his own mind.

She stood there, her wobbly limbs barely supporting her weight. She...she'd have to fight him. And win. She felt like sobbing, and curling up into a ball. She...she didn't want to hurt him...

"Luce!" Natsu burst into the clearing, and Lucy and Laxus froze. She watched as something seemed to switch inside Laxus, and instead of the normal, calm and gruff man she loved, a calculating, malice-filled man emerged.

Lucy watched with horror as a dark, deranged smile spread across his face. Before they could so much as blink, Laxus sent lightning barreling towards Natsu, and Lucy for once didn't recognize the type of sparks. They seemed...deadly. Out of every attack Lucy had ever witnessed him use, this was the most feral one. It reeked of anger, blood-lust, and possessiveness.

Lucy raced to Natsu's shock-stricken form and swiftly sent out a water dragon shield. She barely blocked the attack. Laxus's navy eyes dart over to her and soften.

"I'm sorry, love, but I can't have you interfering. It's about time I eliminate Natsu Dragneel for good..."

Lucy ducked when a web of lightning flew at her and she suddenly felt a sinking feeling in her gut. As the cycle went with elements, fire was weak to water, and water was weak to lightning. She was already at a disadvantage because she didn't want to hurt him.

"Oh, don't be difficult, sweetheart," Laxus purred, and Lucy shivered at how out of character the man in front of her was.

Laxus flashed to her side, making her blood run cold. She tried to move away but was caught in his arms. He pressed his lips to hers and nearly made Lucy feel light-headed. He kissed her hungrily, possessively attacking her. She weakly tried to pull away but found herself nearly defenseless against him.

Why? Why couldn't she move? Why couldn't she do anything? She felt tears break past her eyelids, and spill down her cheeks. Why was she so useless? When it really mattered, when everyone was counting on her, why couldn't pull through? She guessed she hadn't really changed, had she?

Suddenly, something slammed into Laxus's face, catapulting him away from the wide-eyed Lucy.

Soft navy blue eyes hardened, fading to almost an onyx.

"Don't touch, my Luce!..." Natsu snarled, fire swirling along his fists, licking past his whole frame.

A maniacal smile spread across Laxus's features.

"Your Luce?"
