Dusk Till Dawn

~No one's POV~

"Star dress! Pegasus form!" Lucy shouts, then her agile frame gets engulfed in golden light.  Once the light faded, Lucy emerged. She was adorning a silky white dress, that flowed gracefully. Her hair was piled up in an intricate bun, and huge feathery wings protruded from her back. Her white, ballerina-like shoes barely touched the ground. Sting stared at her, flabbergasted and slightly impressed.

"Wow blondie. Seems you do have some skills," He states begrudgingly. She tosses him a toothy grin.

"You haven't seen anything yet," She boasts. Sting snorts.

The villagers had all been gathered at the center of town. They currently all stared at Lucy as if she was a goddess. Lucy lifted her hands in the air and a shimmery glow enveloped her palms. She chanted some inaudible words, and all of the citizens rose into the air. Her wings started flapping and, soon she was floating next to them.

"Woah..." Sting muttered, his eyes trained on all the flying people. Lucy smirked. This star dress allowed her to fly and levitate others. Useful, and awesome. The villagers started panicking. Adults shrieked and children cried out. Lucy quickly shushed them.

"Don't worry, I'm going to bring you all to safety," She said flying towards the village on the other side of the woods. Sting gazed after her for a second, before dashing off to check one more time, that everyone was evacuated. Everyone was gone. Good. After checking, he raced off in search of Rogue.

"Hey, Sting," Rogue said, running towards Sting. Sting met him halfway.

"Where's Lucy?" Rogue questions, looking around.

"She's fricking flying the villagers to the other city," Sting replies shortly.

"Flying them? All of them?" Rogue asks. Sting nods.

"Yeah. Definitely underestimated her." Lector flies up to him.

"But, she can't be better than you! You're the best!" Lector exclaims. Sting smiles and pets his head.

"Fro thinks so too!" Frosch chirps, waddling over.

"Thanks. We should get ready to fight those bandits. You destroyed the ship?" Sting questions.

"Yeah. They were so obvious about it, I'm surprised no one caught on. It was literally a huge pirate ship, with tons of gold littering it, and some women tied up in the back. Those bandits are despicable human beings if I do say so myself." They start heading back to the edge of the woods, and spot Lucy flying over to them.

"Hi, guys! The villagers are safe now, but we don't have a lot of time before those wretched people get here. I saw them when I was flying back, and they're about ten minutes away. Let's hide and ambush them," Lucy says.

"Okay, good idea," Sting replies, hiding behind a tree. Lucy smirks.

"That's all you got? Star dress, Chance form," She says, transforming into a pair of black jeans, a white tank top, and leather jacket. Her hair is curly and falling in waves down her back. Black, furry, wolf ears wiggle on the top of her head, and a cute onyx tail sticks out of her rear-end. Claws form on her hands, and her teeth sharpen into fangs.

"Oh? What do you have in mind blondie?" He asks crossly.

"Shadow form," She announces, and her body morphs into shadow. It travels into a nearby trees shadow.

"Oh come on!" Sting whines. A distinct girly laugh comes from the tree's shadow.

"Impressive. I shall do that as well," Rogue nods, transforming into shadow and hiding in the tree next to Lucy.

"Frosch, Lector, you guys can just hide in the top of the trees, okay?" Lucy says. The nod and fly up to the top of the tree her voice was coming from.

They waited ten minutes, and god, it was the longest ten minutes of Lucy's life. Then they heard voices approaching

"Mike, good idea on robbing this place. I heard there are especially pretty women here," A gruff voice says.

"I know. Plenty of women we can enjoy."

"Don't even get started on the cash. We could probably sell some of those women we caught into slavery for a good one million jewels," A man chuckled. Lucy cringed in disgust. She would destroy these people. She morphed back into a person and hid behind the tree. They were right next to them, maybe twenty feet away.

"Sting, Rogue, now," She whispered. They both joined her.

"Let's do this!" Sting said shooting her a grin. She returned it.

"Water dragon roar!" She yelled, attacking first. The bandits looked up with surprise and horror. Gallons and gallons of water attacked them.

"Woah! You're a dragon slayer?! Awesome!" Sting beams. She laughs.

"I know! But, I have way more up my sleeve than that," She said, watching the bandits stand up. A few of them start using magic. Sting launched his roar, as does Rogue. But, the bandits are apparently stronger than they look.

"Requip! Hells Angel armor!" She yells. She has been working on requip. She loves feeling so badass, with all her different armors. But she also feels like she's coping Erza. But, her love of feeling badass overcame the other feeling.

She lifts up her huge black swords and slashes at everyone. Well, except for Sting and Rogue, no matter how much Sting could annoy her.

Almost all the bandits had already collapsed. There were hundreds of the men. Sting and Rogue were working together and had effortless teamwork. They took half, while she took the other half.

"Nice armor blondie! I definitely get the name now," He yells at her while kicking a man in the face.

"But not because of the armor theme, no because of your weird split personality. You're scary like a demon while fighting, and in person, you're like an angel," He continues smirking.

"I don't fight like a demon!!" She screams.

"Star dress, Celestial Spirit king!" She shouts, not thinking straight. That was her most powerful armor or star dress. She could kill a person in that armor.

Stings mouth gaped open at the sleek, badass armor she adorned. Her blonde hair was in a ponytail and seemed brighter than he had ever seen it. She raised her huge sword and in one swipe, knocked out all the remaining bandits. She flashed back to her regular clothes and she fell to her knees.

"Damn...I pushed myself too hard..." She muttered, breathing heavily. She tried to stand up but stumbled. Sting rushed to catch her. He caught her right before she hit the ground.

"Are you okay?!" He asked frantically. She nodded weakly.

"Yeah...I haven't perfected that star dress yet, and it needs a lot of magic power," She says, her whole body aching. She tries to stand again, but Sting grabs her again.

"Not so fast, you can barely stand, let alone walk back to the other village, or summon a spirit," He says, picking her up bridal style. She continues struggling.

"I'm not weak, I can summon Pegasus...I know I can...I'm not weak like he said!" She said, tears pricking her eyes.

"Who's 'he'?" Sting wonders to himself.

"Lucy...you're amazing. And believe me, I don't say that to a lot of people. I don't know who told you you're weak, but they're wrong," He said. Lucy smiled, relaxing into his arms.

"Thanks, Sting....you're a really sweet guy..." She said, her eyes fluttering shut. Sweet?! No one ever called Sting Eucliffe sweet. Arrogant, cocky, mean, strong, but never sweet. Why was she so different? Why did he act so different to her? He was mean to everyone. He could have just let her cry, and not do anything about it. Yet, he cheered her up, and honestly, he truly believed what he said was true.

"Sting! Is she okay?" Rogue called out, snapping him from his thoughts.

"Yeah, she just passed out from lack of magic. Let's go collect the reward," He said, carrying Lucy.

~Timeskip, Train No ones POV~

Sting gulps, trying to contain his motion sickness. Lucy was still asleep, and her head was resting on his lap. They decided to take her home to Fairytail, and then head home themselves. Rogue sat in the back of the train with the exceeds, away from Sting and Lucy. He said it was because there was no room near them, but there was plenty of room. Sting swears Rogue did it on purpose, so Lucy and he would be alone.

Lucy's eyes suddenly flew open.

"Oh, Hi Sting! You look a little green," She yawned. He would've smiled at how adorable she was if he didn't feel like dying.

"Here," She said, requipping a pill bottle. He swallowed a pill and immediately felt better.

"Motion sickness pills?" He asked.

"Yeah, I got them from my friend Ultear," She said, popping a pill in her mouth.

"So where's this train headed?" She asked.

"Magnolia." She grins up at him.

"Oh Stingy bee, were you going to take me home? How sweet!"

"There's that word again," He thinks to himself.

"Yeah...but don't get any ideas!" He defends. She laughs.

"Wouldn't dream of it."

"Hey, Lucy? I hope you don't mind me asking, but who was the one who called you weak?" Sting asked, strangely polite. Lucy grimaces, but answers nonetheless.

"Some old friends of mine. Their names were Erza Scarlet, Gray Fullbuster, and Natsu Dragneel."

"Natsu!" Sting asked shocked. Natsu was once his role model...until he died. Killed by a dragon no less! What a useless dragon slayer, if he couldn't do what he was born to do.

"Why? I thought Natsu loved family?!" Sting asks, angry.

"Well...." Lucy tells him her story. She finishes just as they arrive at Magnolia.

"Wow...Lucy. I can't believe what you went through. That bastard Natsu should just go rot in hell, where he belongs!" He says, ticked off.

"For all I know, he could be." She stands up, her face stoic. It was strange for her, as she usually had a cheerful smile plastered on her face.

Rogue and Sting exited the train with her and started walking her back to her house. Once they got there, Lucy turned to say goodbye.

"Thanks for walking me Sting, Rogue! We should take a mission together again sometime. I think we're a pretty good team!" She says, smiling brightly. Sting smiles softly.

"Yeah...Hey Lucy? Why don't you quit Fairy Tail and join Sabertooth? We could be a team, and we'd never treat you like your old friends did..." He says quietly. Lucy stills. The offer, as tempting as it sounded, was ludicrous. Too many people relied on her in Fairytail.

"As much as I really would love that, I have too many responsibilities here. People rely on me. I'm sorry Sting..." She says smiling apologetically. Sting's mood dampened a little.

"I knew you'd say that. But, don't worry. Someday you'll be free of this guild. And then you can come and join us!" He said, determination clear in his eyes. He marked his words, he'd get her to join Sabertooth...one day.

"..." Lucy didn't even know how to respond. So, she gave them both hugs and laughed at Sting's blush.

"Stingy bee's embarrassed!" She cooed, with a smirk.

"Shut up!" He yelled, storming off.

"Bye Sting, see you soon!" She exclaimed happily after him. Rogue gave her a soft smile.

"Bye Lucy, I hope our paths cross again soon," He said, walking away.

"Bye Bye Lucy-chan, Fro will miss you!"

"Bye Lucy-san!" Lector shouts too. Lucy waves happily.

"Bye you guys, I'll miss you!" She turned around and walked inside her house.
