Chapter Two: The Workers

"Why the hell not?" David growls, standing up and glaring Tyler down. "This is a murder investigation, Tyler. It's more important then your business here."

Tyler crosses his arms defiantly, stepping into the snow. "My patrons would disagree, Detective. I got senators, officers, married men all coming here who don't want anyone else knowing. You can talk to the strippers but I'm giving you no names." He says, turning and heading back inside. David huffs and gets up to follow him, but there's no one in the hall so David progresses into the main lounge.

He sighs and walks towards the strippers, glad the crying one has since calmed down. Lui, the one from earlier, looks over and smiles. "Hello sir! These are all the other workers, pleased to meet you. Evan, Ryan, aaand that guy over there is Craig!"

The man Lui introduced as Ryan has light brown hair, pale as hell with grey eyes, and is small and extremely skinny. Ryan curls his knees under his chin, frowning. "Hello, Detective."

The other, Evan, has warmer skin, jet black hair, and brown eyes. He's certainly the strongest of all of them. Evan smiles nervously, crossing his legs. "Hello sir."

David looks past them, at the worker who isn't part of the group. Craig, Lui said. He has dyed hair, crooked glasses, and a glare to kill a man. "Evan was fucking Luke." He spits, jumping off the stage. "Craig!" Lui squeals, glaring at him as he disappears around the corner.

David glares at Evan. "Is Luke the deceased?"

Evan shuffles closer to Lui, frowning. "Yes, he um, was a client. A regular." Evan murmurs, looking at the ground.

"Sir, you gotta understand, Evan is new. Be nice to him." Lui orders, Ryan giggling softly on the sidelines. David rolls his eyes, takes a deep breath, and nods.

"Alright, Evan, I understand. Is there anything more you can tell me about him? A last name?" David pries, putting his arms on the stage and leaning closer to the men sitting there. "If we're gonna get justice and you're going to get peace, you need to talk to me."

Evan sighs, rubbing his eye. "His full name is Luke Patterson. He um, he has a husband, I don't know where, though."

"Alright, thank you Evan. Uh, Lui. Do you know where Craig has gone?" David asks, looking around the main lounge. Wow, that guy moves fast.

Lui hops off the stage, grabbing David's hand without a word and pulling him towards the back. "This way sir, I bet you Craig is powdering his nose or some shit." He snickers, showing David a room with a star on the door. He knocks. "Good luck."

"Come in!" Tyler shouts from the inside, which confuses David more then it should. He walks inside and glances at Craig, who's now pouting in the corner. "Oh. David. I thought you left."

David glances around the room, vanity mirrors and makeup and lavish couches and fancy clothing. He looks back at Tyler, frowning. "I said it's Detective. And I'm here to talk to Craig, then I'll leave."

Tyler sits on the couch, making himself comfortable. "I have all day, apparently." He complains, looking at Craig.

Craig huffs. "Luke was a real good regular, fucked most of the guys here. He was mean though, I'm pretty sure no one in this joint liked him, except for Ev'."

"Craig."

"One of Evan's old clients got mad, too, acted jealous. It was weird, he always just called himself 'Delirious'."

"Craig."

"Luke's hussy showed up, started screaming. Luke was planning on leaving him for Evan."

"Thompson!"

"Tyler, shut the fuck up." Craig growls, glaring him down. He takes a deep breath and looks over at David calmly, or as calm as he can muster. "That's all I got for you sir."

"Thank you, this was all very helpful." David says, jotting everything down. He shoots Tyler a glare. "More then your boss here, for sure." He snaps, taking a deep breath himself. "I'll be back tomorrow after I've done some research with more questions. Be ready for them." He insists before turning around and leaving, glad to get out of that place.
