A/n : So, this is a revisit of the initial chapters. I've picked up the text from those chapters and the pov of Jeonghan which wasn't revealed earlier is mentioned in italics after a '' sign . So, it's going to be a long one ahead because I thought of including all of them at once.

I don't really know if it's going to work but let's see lmao.

"Uh-" Seungcheol welped as he bumped into someone while walking through the hallways of the palace.

"What's your problem?" The ethereal man scrunched his brows.

"You are the only problem I've in my life, Yoon Jeonghan." Seungcheol rolled his eyes.

"Nothing new." Jeonghan scoffed.

'Always a problem huh? Why can't you never see past it?' Jeonghan eyed the older carefully. He looked stressed and in disdain.

Seungcheol shrugged, not in the mood to have another argument with the most annoying person he had ever met in his entire life. As he began to walk away, he heard a whistle from behind.

He turned around to witness Jeonghan leaning against the wall with a small grin.

And Seungcheol hated that grin. That evil and mischievous smile which meant nothing but harm.

"You know you're whistling at the crowned prince, right? That's unethical." Seungcheol raised a brow.

'Look at him being all adorable and irresistible. I wish I could compliment you openly. I would have definitely taken my chance if you were not lost in her and only her.'

"Prince, just prince because everyone knows you aren't crowned yet because of an oh so broken heart and incomplete love story." Jeonghan mocked, "Plus I don't think Uncle Choi would mind me doing this anyways."

"I swear I'll literally slice that smirk off your face with my dagger." Seungcheol fumed with anger.

"Dagger?" Jeonghan laughed as he displayed him the small weapon, "This?"

"What-" Seungcheol's eyes widened, "When did you get my dagger?"

Jeonghan enjoyed the playful banter between them. It was the only way with which he could talk to the older in a rather informal way. He very well knew if he would go all soft then he might blurt out his mild attraction towards the older.

When in fact, he had to get rid of those unnecessary feelings, 'He's just too damn alluring.'

"Just now, when we bumped into each other." Jeonghan retorted.

"You know what, Yoon Jeonghan? Please try to stay away from me. I can't really endure your everyday bullshit." Seungcheol scoffed, "Keep that dagger, I'm leaving."

Jeonghan snapped his fingers after which Seungcheol felt the dagger back in his pocket, "I don't want to face you either but guess what, I'm bound to visit the place where you live."

"If it's bothering you so much then tell me, I'll ask Dad to fire you." Seungcheol raised a brow.

'Oh, you never will.'

"He may disown you but will never fire me." Jeonghan stated, "Because I'm doing a great job for this kingdom while you're just running away from your responsibilities because of being delusional."

"Thank you for the enlightenment, Mr. Yoon but keep it with yourself." Seungcheol sarcastically chuckled after which he left.

Jeonghan rolled his eyes as he walked towards the Emperor's room.

After his task, he got out of the room, he encountered Lee Seokmin, the second oldest prince of the Choi Empire.

"Oh hyung!" Seokmin grinned as they shared a brief hug after which Seokmin began to look around.

Jeonghan laughed, "Joshua isn't here."

"What hyung? I wasn't looking for him." Seokmin scratched the back of his neck.

"Yah why don't you propose my brother and take him out of the house?" Jeonghan rolled his eyes as both of them began to walk.

"Hyung!" Seokmin whined, "Even if I propose him, he won't marry me until you get married."

"Oh please, it doesn't matter in our household." Jeonghan scoffed.

"It does. It's just you who doesn't accept these customs." Seokmin nodded, "Just like you don't believe in reincarnation of soulmates."

"Yeah, I don't." Jeonghan agreed, "I mean what's the point? Even if your soulmate is reincarnated, would they remain the same person as they were in their previous life? No, right? How's that true love?"

"Sorry to interrupt you Mr. Yoon." A deep voice echoed, "But you don't know what true love is."

✨ 'Does he really think he knows everything? It's just a stupid obsession Seungcheol, wake up to reality!'

"Educate me, Mr. Choi?" Jeonghan turned around to witness the eldest prince, "Because I really don't think that reincarnation makes any sense. Every soul gets reincarnated, probably, but that doesn't mean they remain the same kind of person in each of their lives."

"You might be true but true love isn't about people, it's about the souls itself." Seungcheol retorted.

"Huh?" Jeonghan frowned, "If your so called soulmate from previous life becomes an enemy and threat to the Choi Empire, to your parents, would you still love her? Just because she WAS once your lover?"

Seungcheol stayed silent. What was this question? Why did it make so much sense? Why was it shaking his trust and belief over his true love?

"What if she reborns with a motive to kill you and your family?" Jeonghan continued, "Would you still love her?"

Seokmin sensed the tension between the two. It wasn't a new thing anyways, they had always been like this.

"You hate me right?" Jeonghan walked closer to the older, "What if I'm her reincarnation? Would you still love her?"

'Move on, Seungcheol. It will be worth it!'

"Stop." Seungcheol mumbled, "Get out of my sight."

'Ge- what? The truth hurts? Is that so?!'

"I wasn't even talking to you in the first place." Jeonghan retorted, "It's you who interfered in my conversation with Seokmin."

Seungcheol simply looked away. Why was Jeonghan always a threat to his power? A prince who had won numerous intense wars single handedly was always speechless in front of him, why?

"You-" Jeonghan chuckled mockingly, "Are the most insecure person I've ever met in my entire life. Sucks to be you."

Jeonghan began to leave but Seungcheol held his arm and stared at him, "Seokmin, leave."

"Hyung-"

"Leave, I said." Seungcheol sternly ordered.

Seokmin hesitated but he had to leave. Jeonghan twisted his wrist to escape but Seungcheol tightened his grip and pulled the younger closer, "Insecure?"

"Yes you are." Jeonghan glared at him, "You're scared that no one will love you now so you're weeping over someone who isn't coming back. Your parents are worried for you, you've so many people to care about you, yet, you only want that one person who was literally cursed by the omnipresent authoritative powers."

"This isn't love, Seungcheol." Jeonghan stood close to the older, "This is complete madness. A betrayal to your own parents who love you more than that girl. A cowardly move for your responsibilities. This kingdom wants you as their ruler but you're simply showing your back to them. You're breaking the trust of your own people.

Winning wars surely made you a good leader but you're still not a good ruler."

Jeonghan gulped at his own words. On one hand he believed he was right but on another, he knew he was hurting the older's sentiments.

And he didn't want to do that. Never. But he just wanted Seungcheol to see the reality. He was much more than just a person waiting for a 'cursed' soul.

"Right." Seungcheol laughed, "Now waiting for your love makes you a bad person. No one understands the pain of separation-"

"You're too full of yourself, aren't you? Do you think only you're the one who went through traumatic experience?" Jeonghan chuckled bitterly, "My mom died right in front of my eyes during a war. But the next day, my father still went to serve YOUR kingdom. I took care of my younger brother when I myself was scared. We didn't know if our dad will come back or not. Pain of separation."

Seungcheol's grip on the younger's wrist loosened when he saw a hint of sadness and guilt in his eyes. The usual fierce eyes were now craving for shelter.

"Everyone around you has went through something. But no one has given up on their life and duty." Jeonghan stepped backwards, "You're just showcasing your selfishness as true love. Anyways, leave it. Uncle Choi is a better king than a heartbroken pathetic loner. Goodbye."

"If it wasn't for your job then you would have definitely been sued for being so fucking manipulative." Seungcheol scoffed.

"Really?" Jeonghan turned around as he slowly walked back towards the older, like he was his prey.

He held Seungcheol's collars and pulled him over himself with a jerk as Jeonghan's back rested against the railing of the palace while the older's arms fell over the railings.

Jeonghan's heartbeat raced, 'What am I even doing? And why?'

"I manipulated you?" Jeonghan raised a brow, "Yes, I did."

Jeonghan traced Seungcheol's arm with his palm as he reached his neck and then cheeks.

Jeonghan leaned in to place his ear against the older's chest after which he backed away with a chuckle, "The effect I've on you right now is a bit questionable Mr. Choi."

Jeonghan's hand moved behind the older's back as he pulled him closer.

"Manipulation? Spells?" Jeonghan inched closer to his ear and whispered, "If your true love can be manipulated by spells, if your heart has started racing because a person except for your lover is close to you, then you need to think again if your love is true or not."

Jeonghan gently pushed him away as he winked with a menacing grin, "You can win millions of wars but never against Yoon Jeonghan. And trust me, it's not the spells that work. Goodbye, honorable prince." He left with a subtle laughter.

As soon as Jeonghan reached his car, he took the driver's seat and inhaled a deep breath.

The heat of the moment made him pull another stunt which could have escalated a bit too much.

And it wasn't supposed to be like that.

"Get a grip Yoon Jeonghan, this is not at all your business. Stay away from him, please!"

He ran his fingers through his hair, "What the hell is wrong with me?!"

He rested his head over the steering wheel while trying to calm himself, "Get over it. Get over it. Get over it!"

"Seokmin." Jeonghan stood up from his seat, "Exchange seats with me."

"Jeonghan, stop!" Joshua mumbled to him.

"What stop? I'm not asking you to change seats." Jeonghan whined, "I want to sit there."

"Beside Seungcheol hyung?" Seungkwan raised a brow.

"Seungcheol?" Jeonghan frowned. Oh shit, no! It came out the wrong way.

"He wants Seokmin and Joshua hyung to sit together." Mingyu explained.

"Exactly." Jeonghan sighed in relief, "C'mon everyone knows you're dating. Why are you both so shy and stupid?"

"Hyung-" Seokmin stood up, "I was going to ask you to change seats but-"

Everyone knew that Seungcheol and Jeonghan never got along. They would start talking and end up in an argument, the polar opposites of each other.

Seungcheol rolled his eyes, "I don't have any problem Seokmin."

Jeonghan sighed heavily, depicting he didn't really care about his opinion.

But he did. He did care about Seungcheol's opinion and wished it wasn't so twisted.

Seokmin and Jeonghan finally exchanged their seats as everyone began to talk among themselves in duos or trios.

As soon as Jeonghan sat beside Seungcheol, he shifted his seat away from him. But the problem arised when the table mat, plate, glass everything seemed away from him too because of the disruption of sitting arrangement.

Seungcheol held Jeonghan's seat and pulled it towards himself, to its original position, "Stop acting up."

✨ 'Why is he like this?! No wait, this is my problem. I'm getting fucking flustered by these small gestures.'

Jeonghan glared at him, "Or else?"

Seungcheol shifted his seat a little more, "Or I'll pull you closer, which you'll definitely not like."

Jeonghan yanked the older's hand away from his seat, "Why do you need to interfere in whatever I'm doing?"

"Because I feel extremely happy when you're with me." Seungcheol's voice dripped with sarcasm, "Like, I'm over the moon."

✨ Only if this was true.

Jeonghan rolled his eyes, "Right? I know I'm the best."

"That's something a narcissist would say." Seungcheol remarked.

"Really?" Jeonghan chuckled, "I think I heard this from someone named Choi Seungcheol."

"You heard a fact, thank you."

"Being a cupid backfired me." Jeonghan rolled his eyes.

"Bold of you to assume that you have a chance in love, be it someone else's." Seungcheol muttered.

✨ 'How can he say that? Why do I not have a chance in love? And who's he to decide that?'

Jeonghan frowned at the older, 'Only because I don't entertain his stupid obsession? Wow, seriously?!'

Jeonghan clenched his teeth as he punched Seungcheol's thigh beneath the table.

Seungcheol was quick to hold the younger's wrist tightly, "You're captured."

"Shut up and leave me." Jeonghan twisted his wrist as he tried to increase the warmth of his skin to make the older's hand burn.

But what can calm fire? Water and Ice. And Seungcheol had that strength really well.

"Seungcheol that's my right hand, leave!" Jeonghan mumbled as using immense powers would definitely create a scene in the party so he was restraining himself.

"You started it." Seungcheol didn't loosen his grip, "How do you hold a sword with these soft hands?"

"I think you forgot when my sword had almost pierced your neck during a practice day." Jeonghan mocked, "Leave!"

"I'll not, cry over it." Seungcheol chuckled to everyone, pretending that nothing was happening beneath the table.

Jeonghan scoffed as he moved his wrist to dug his nails into the older's skin.

"You trying so hard is making it even more fun." Seungcheol looked at the younger.

"Leave!"

"I thought you wanted to sit with me." Seungcheol grinned mischievously, "Well, the thighs which you just punched can bear your entire weight."

✨ Jeonghan gasped for a moment but was quick to hide it, 'How can he- What the hell?!'

"You're asking for yet another punch, aren't you?" Jeonghan raised a brow.

"Do it." Seungcheol tightened his grip on the younger's hand, "Why not?"

"Are you really testing me, Choi Seungcheol?" Jeonghan whispered, "If I do something unethical, nothing will go wrong with me but your so called loyalty will definitely be ruined."

Seungcheol laughed at the younger, "As if you can."

"Just say you need an excuse to hold my hand. I don't blame you though, I know after seeing me, no one can stay loyal to their partner." Jeonghan chuckled, "How about I kiss you right here, in front of everyone? I believe you want my waist amidst your arms, don't you?"

"You need to hesitate a bit." Seungcheol muttered slowly.

"Can't say no?" Jeonghan winked as he looked at the older's lips and back into his eyes, "Am I weakening your heart, Seungcheol? Shall we get a room?"

Seungcheol found himself speechless. He really hated how he was letting Jeonghan dominate the conversation. But was there anything he could do? He knew Jeonghan was just making fun of him by saying those things.

"Done?" Jeonghan raised a brow, "Those who've houses made of glass shouldn't throw stones at others. Don't try to mess with me because you know what? I can mess with your powers, sanity, confidence and even your life. Now leave my hand!"

Seungcheol spared him, "You should rather be glad that people are around us or you don't know how much trouble you had invited for yourself."

"Fine, I'll see you alone as well. Let's see what trouble I've invited for myself by a lovesick man." Jeonghan mockingly stated.

"You guys, please stop murmering like bees." Seungkwan rebuked the eldest two.

✨ Jeonghan sighed to himself, glad that it was over.

No matter how much they bickered, Jeonghan had always admired Seungcheol from afar.

His capabilities, his confidence, his calm aura, everything about him was simply a piece of art.

Except, he was just blinded by someone who was a potential threat and over that, gone forever.

But still, even about that aspect, Jeonghan couldn't help but respect the older's dedication towards his 'love'.

He knew it was wrong, really wrong to develop feelings for someone whose heart was already taken.

And Jeonghan was trying not to fall for the older but he also couldn't help it. All he could do was to deny it all.

Jeonghan always wondered a few questions which seemes a bit toxic to him.

Will I ever get a love like this?

Will I ever get to love someone like this?

Will my heart also beat for someone every moment?

Will my happiness also depend on someone.

Will there be a person I would get to cherish with my heart and soul.

And if I ever get to love someone like this, will they love me back?

His mind was messed up. It was painful but that pain was too alluring.

Too irresistible.

And, too good to be true.

Seungcheol recited a spell to summon a thick thread which got tied around the younger's frame. He got his sword which tore the area of the younger's shirt at his right shoulder and the mark got visible.

And it was there, the soulmate mark.

"How dare you?" Jeonghan pushed him away.

"This-"

Jeonghan didn't know what to say. The thing he was fearing since the morning was now happening. He didn't waste a second to run away and disappear from that place, escaping the older's gaze in a millisecond.

But Seungcheol wasn't slow and steady. He immediately blocked Jeonghan's path and held his wrist, "When? When did you get that?"

"Seungcheol, leave me." Jeonghan twisted his wrist.

✨ Jeonghan didn't want to face Seungcheol at this moment. He wasn't unaware of the older's obsession.

And he knew, Seungcheol would say things that would wound him deeply. He was just trying to avoid it, for his own well-being.

"Jeonghan, please! It's important. When did you get that mark?" Seungcheol was restless, "You're- you're Hari-"

"I'M NOT!" Jeonghan yanked him and grabbed his collars, "I'm Yoon Jeonghan, got it? Dare to call me anything else I'll slit your tongue and I'm not kidding."

"What are you saying?" Seungcheol frowned, "You're definitely-"

"Your soulmate? Reincarnation blah blah whatever, don't even expect me to take someone else's identity, Seungcheol." Jeonghan clenched his jaw, "I. AM. THE. YOON. JEONGHAN. Get that shit inside your insane mind as soon as possible.

I don't care if you think my past was spent in being the love of your life but my present? It's different and it's the only thing I believe.

Don't expect me to take someone else's identity for your stupid stories. I won't lose my identity to anyone, not even for the royalty. Take it as a warning of mine."

Jeonghan glared at him for one last time and left.

✨ He ran away as far as he could. He didn't remember the last time he had cried but at this moment, he could feel tears welling up in his eyes.

He stopped at an empty place and sat down on the ground.

"No way!" Jeonghan screamed, "I never wanted it to be like this! Never!"

He cried to himself, a lot, letting his suppressed emotions flow out.

The person who had taught him love was now teaching him hatred.

"Why?! Why for the mark? Why not for me? My feelings? My soul? Why for a person I don't even know?!"

Jeonghan sniffled, the messed up reality clouding his mind.

Maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't have hurt so much if he had no feelings for the older.

He felt pathetic. Crying over a man who didn't even value his identity in the first place.

Did this attraction towards Seungcheol made him weak? Did it?

"I don't deserve this! I don't!" Jeonghan gulped the lump in his throat, "This is not now it's supposed to go."

At that moment, Jeonghan felt that the admiration he held from afar was better.

Getting close to him, was hurting, in every possible way.

He never knew his heart could ache so much over someone apart from his mother.

But here he was, feeling helpless, in a situation where he could speak his heart out, to anyone.

The more he was hiding, the more he was hurting and this new drama wasn't helping at all.

"I don't want this!" Jeonghan muttered to himself, "I'm not an object which he can just pick because he liked this mark!"

"You love her, sure do, but why me? Why am I getting dragged in all this? Do I not have my own feelings? Does he really think that I'm all emotionless?"

"This is not at all fair!"

Jeonghan looked away as his incredible rage had turned into tears of agony and pain.

Each and every word of the younger pierced Seungcheol's heart. The reality which everyone around him tried to show him earlier was now coming into his clear vision.

"You ruined me Seungcheol, you completely ruined Yoon Jeonghan. Congratulations! Enjoy! That's what you wanted right? That's what you were dying for?" Jeonghan grabbed his collars as he cried, "Now why are you silent? Come? Make me yours? Ruin me even more? Just kill my soul now!

Why don't you just burn all of my emotions before the fire inside me kills me alive? If you've decided to end me then do it completely? Why are you hanging in the middle?"

Jeonghan wiped his tears as he held Seungcheol's hand and dragged him towards the bed, "Tell me? How was your soulmate like? I must have to act like her right? Or you'll probably sentence me and my family to death penalty? Why aren't you saying anything now? Tell me what I have to do to be a nice husband?"

"Jeonghan-" Seungcheol gulped the lump in his throat as he slowly escaped his grip, "Don't- I-"

"Why? What happened now? Do you not want me anymore? Wait, did the mark already disappear?" Jeonghan was going crazy at this point as his misery was gradually unveiling itself.

"A dead person's feelings matter so much to you Seungcheol." Jeonghan inhaled a deep breath, "But what about the heart which is still beating? WHAT ABOUT MY FEELINGS? What about me?!! Why do you want to end my existence for someone who isn't even alive? WHY?! Why am I supposed to satisfy your obsession?

Or did you do all this to prove that you've ultimate power over me? Just because you're the anticipated emperor, you're allowed to ruin someone like this? You should've rather taken my life Seungcheol, it would've hurt less. But you tried to snatch my entire existence. Why did you this? What did I do to deserve this?"

"Jeonghan, listen to me." Seungcheol stepped forward.

"There's nothing to listen about." Jeonghan collapsed on the floor on his knees. He sat there for a while after which he slammed his hand against the floor numerous times.

Seungcheol knelt down in front of him and held his hand, "What are you doing? It will hurt."

"It will hurt?" Jeonghan chuckled bitterly, "Since when did me being hurt start to concern you? Why do you care if I live or just die? Now that you know that I won't do whatever you want me to, you'll execute me anyways. So let it hurt Seungcheol, let it hurt."

"Don't do this." Seungcheol mumbled, "I'm- I'm sorry."

"And what do I do of your sorry?" Jeonghan retracted his hands.

"I didn't know it will turn out like this." Seungcheol looked down, "I was always told these legends of reincarnation and all so I started to believe it. I trusted the stories and thought rebirths didn't change the person- I- I'm sorry.

Now- I'm really guilty for it. Please don't hate me, I know it's too late but I'm grateful to you for being an eye opener for me. Tell me what will lessen your pain? I'll do anything you say."

"Really?" Jeonghan looked at him, "Break this marriage. Break that string of vow and set me free."

Seungcheol stared at him with wide eyes, unable to register his words.

"What? You can't do it, right?" Jeonghan stood up, "Because you're lying when you say that you don't believe on those stories anymore. You're still obsessed with a pathetic mark."

"If that's what you want." Seungcheol stood up and turned away from the older as he made the string on his wrist visible, "Then I'll do it. I'll break this string."

Seungcheol pulled out his dagger as he inhaled a deep breath. He began to cut the string which wasn't breaking off easily. He frowned as it seemed unreal. A thin string wasn't breaking off by the dagger? How?

It was when he heard a loud thud. He turned around to witness Jeonghan on the floor, clutching his chest and coughing blood.

Seungcheol immediately abandoned the dagger and rushed towards the younger. He rested Jeonghan's face against his chest and patted his cheeks.

Seungcheol's palms and shirt were now covered with blood while Jeonghan's condition kept worsening.

Seungcheol's eyes began to tear up, "Jeonghan? Wh- what's wrong?"

Seungcheol snapped his fingers as the room's door opened, "GUARDS!"

A few men immediately rushed in over the prince's orders.

"Call Dr. Lee and Dr. Boo immediately! It's an emergency." Seungcheol ordered as he lifted Jeonghan and laid him on the bed.

"Hold on for a while, Jeonghan, please." Seungcheol's hands trembled. He had already given so much emotional pain to him and now he didn't want the younger to bear any physical pain because of himself.

✨ Jeonghan could feel himself blacking out. But at that moment, he could also see the worry in Seungcheol's eyes.

The pain in his voice.

But Jeonghan knew it wasn't for him. It could never be. It was all either for the mark or for guilt.

Not because Seungcheol actually cared, why would he?

At some point, Jeonghan found himself getting wrapped in the embrace of unconsciousness better than facing the harsh reality which was piercing his heart and soul.

The truth was that, now, he had stepped into a life where getting and providing love was a long lost thing.

It was over, forever and ever.

"Jeonghan? JEONGHAN?" Seungcheol shook him as the younger fell unconscious.

"Please wake up." Seungcheol held his hand tightly as he dug his head against the younger's arms, "Please wake up! I beg you! I don't want to hurt you more, please wake up, Jeonghan."

Soon enough, it started raining heavily. The agony of the prince of ice and water was drowning the entire kingdom as the heavy water droplets. The prince cried and so did the sky, hoping for their sun to shine again soon.

A/n : Lmao I think this was so messed up and lame.

But I think, we needed to revisit a few scenes with a different point of view. Hope y'all likes it!

Anyways take care everyone!
