21 - Last Night

<Choi Palace>

"...Yeah this was the last gun in the arsenal." The commander stated as Seungcheol and Jeonghan felt content.

"Jeonghan, what's your favorite weapon?" Seungcheol asked.

"Sword, no doubt." Jeonghan chuckled.

The commander nodded, "I'll show you some new swords of our arsenal." He showed them several swords and explained about them briefly.

Jeonghan took a sword he liked, "This is majestic."

"You like it?" Seungcheol picked another, "This one looks better though."

"Wanna try?" Jeonghan grinned, "It has been so long."

"Why not?" Seungcheol nodded.

"But..." The commander intervened, "The strength of the swords also depend on the warrior."

"Don't worry, we won't blame the swords." Jeonghan stated as he and Seungcheol walked in the middle of the practice ground.

"Your highness, any rules?" The commander asked.

"You say." Seungcheol looked at Jeonghan.

"No kicks and use of other hand." Jeonghan raised his spare hand keeping it at his back, "Only the swords should clash."

"First one to drop the swords on the ground will lose." Seungcheol completed.

The commander backed away as the other staff members also focused on the sword fight, the kings were going to have.

"Don't play dirty." Seungcheol warned while looking at the younger from top to bottom.

"I wonder what you mean." Jeonghan raised his sword, taking the lead to attack.

Seungcheol defended after which their swords kept clashing, the satisfying sound of the sharp metals striking, echoed.

The battle was intense as the two most powerful warriors of the kingdom were clashing against each other. The fight was endearing to watch as the learners were keenly taking notes.

"I see, you're trying too hard to win." Jeonghan whispered.

"What's the point of winning this battle when I've clearly surrendered to your eyes long time ago?" Seungcheol grinned.

"Flattering doesn't win battles, Mr. Choi." Jeonghan retorted.

"But it might help me win YOU." Seungcheol winked as their swords roared in unison.

The battle gave goosebumps to whoever was watching. Even if they weren't using any spells, the fire and ice element seemed to clash skillfully.

The duo's weapons were stuck against each other as both of them refused to back away.

"Darling, your gaze is much sharper than the sword." Seungcheol whispered.

"Don't try to play dirty, your highness. I don't melt during battles." Jeonghan grunted.

"Thanks for specifying." Seungcheol chuckled, "May I know when is the best time to flatter you?"

"Probably when you're ready to bow down on your knees." Jeonghan winked.

"To worship you?" Seungcheol retorted, "Always ready for that."

They pushed each other as they stood at a distance while their eyes met.

Seungcheol flipped his sword in the air with the intention to catch it back.

But before it could reach his grip again, Jeonghan sliced the sword into two as the pieces fell on the ground.

"I won."

Seungcheol's eyes widened, "That's not fair."

"How so?" Jeonghan raised a brow, "Your sword touched the ground first. You were overconfident to catch it back, weren't you?"

"Guess, I learnt a lesson, then." Seungcheol chuckled.

"A great warrior knows how to take defeats and learn from them, your highness." Jeonghan admired, "Depicts, how humble you actually are."

Everyone clapped for the duo and exhaled the breaths they were holding for so long.

Night had fallen, Seungcheol and Jeonghan arrived at their room, slightly exhausted.

"Jeonghan? Let me take you to a beautiful place." Seungcheol suggested.

"Where?" Jeonghan asked.

"Just come with me." Seungcheol grabbed his arms and took him to the balcony. He recited a spell to which a wall came into sight.

"What is this?"

"Wait." Seungcheol pressed his palm on the now visible wall as it opened. Both of them stepped into it and it seemed like they had walked into a new world.

It was a beautiful lake just like the Serenity Lake with an immense garden and a shade at the side.

Jeonghan looked back at the closed door and soon he could hear a soothing music in the background.

"Wait-" Jeonghan was confused, "Where are we?"

"My private garden." Seungcheol stated, "And now it's yours too."

"So this was true-?" Jeonghan gasped, "I've always heard that the royalties had their own personal spell bound places where they can only take their partners."

"And here you are." Seungcheol chuckled.

"It's so pretty." Jeonghan looked at the lake.

"It is." Seungcheol stared at the younger's back.

"So soothing and welcoming." Jeonghan glanced at the greenery.

"Definitely." Seungcheol nodded.

Seungcheol sat on the grass, "Come here."

Jeonghan looked back. He smiled as he laid down on the grass while keeping his head on the older's lap.

Seungcheol caressed his hair, "You are so similar to this scenery."

"How so?" Jeonghan looked at the older.

"Welcoming yet fierce." Seungcheol proudly stated.

Jeonghan chuckled, "I swear, you're so freaking cheesy."

"You dare not blame me." Seungcheol kissed his forehead.

Soon, they felt raindrops gently falling over them.

Jeonghan quickly stood up and rushed towards the shade. But Seungcheol held his wrists, "Where?"

"It's raining." Jeonghan widened his eyes.

"So?"

"Wha-"

"You love the rain, don't you?" Seungcheol chuckled, "Why would you run away from it?"

Jeonghan halted as he felt the rainfall drowning him in its gentle embrace. He walked around while letting himself enjoy his favorite moment.

Seungcheol was intently observing every single move of the younger while the rain was gently drenching him.

"How can the raindrops be so close to you before me?" Seungcheol mumbled to himself.

Seungcheol kept his palm on his racing heart, "Gorgeous and handsome, you definitely are."

Seungcheol slowly walked towards the younger and stood beside him, "I'm really jealous of the rain right now."

"What?" Jeonghan laughed as he turned towards him, "Why?"

"Don't ask why." Seungcheol stared at him, "I can't really explain."

Jeonghan found himself drowning in the older's eyes. That gaze. It definitely held a wave of some indescribable desires.

Seungcheol snaked his arm around the younger's waist to pull him closer and whispered, "I don't like how it is all over you when I'm just standing here, idle."

Seungcheol leaned in to nibble on his earlobe, "I don't like how it has touched you everywhere I never did."

"Darling, you're too gorgeous." Seungcheol's lips grazed over the younger's neck, "I want to worship you for the rest of my life."

The soft music was playing in the background along with the soothing sound of rainfall.

Seungcheol intertwined one of his hands with the younger's while the other remained on his waist.

Jeonghan held his shoulder delicately, "What's going on, Mr. Choi?"

"Husband." Seungcheol stated.

"What?" Jeonghan pretended to not hear the older.

Seungcheol pulled him closer to himself while planting a kiss on his jawline, "HUSBAND."

Jeonghan stared at him with a small smile.

"Don't look at me like that." Seungcheol whispered, "I might not be strong enough to resist you."

"Then don't." Jeonghan inched closer to him, "No one ain't stopping you."

Seungcheol tucked his hair behind his earlobe and leaned in to press a kiss on his cheeks as he trailed down to his neck.

"Resisting you is a sin." Seungcheol grunted as his tongue lurked over the younger's shoulder blades, "And I can't be a sinner, can I?"

Jeonghan clutched on his biceps, "You can't be."

"You're such a menace, I swear." Seuncheol whispered, "Always pushing my limits." He took his time to look at the younger, his drenched clothes defining his outlines as accurately as they could.

"How are you so perfect?" Seungcheol held his chin, "I shouldn't have let you in the rain."

"Why so?" Jeonghan asked.

"Because-" Seungcheol inched closer to his ears, "You're looking much more tempting while being all drenched."

Jeonghan's heart beat quickened as he kept his calm.

Seungcheol pushed himself closer to the younger, "Do you have any idea about the hold you have on me without even putting any efforts?"

"No, enlighten me?"

"Playing innocent, I see?" Seungcheol chuckled, "Well, I shouldn't tell you this but you can definitely weaken me with just one look."

Jeonghan stared at the older intently.

"Yeah- this one." Seungcheol's voice lowered as he groaned, "You're too inviting, too irresistible and way too gorgeous."

"Well, how do I say it?" Jeonghan traced his index finger over the older's torso, "You aren't avoidable either, darling."

Seungcheol almost stopped breathing for a while. That made up sensual voice, the teasing touch and of course that word, everything was driving him crazy.

"You're free to play." Seungcheol grinned, "All you please."

Jeonghan fiddled with the older's earlobe, "Not in the mood today."

"Teasing me?"

"Pretty much."

"I love it though, continue."

"Some other day, probably?" Jeonghan winked.

"Fine, I'll be waiting." Seungcheol rolled his tongue over his neck, "For you to come to me." He nibbled on the younger's earlobe, "And use me in a way that satisfies you the best."

Jeonghan clutched on the older's shirt, his breathes rising.

"In a way you would never forget." Seungcheol left soft kisses on his shoulder, "In a way that will make you forget everything except for my name."

"I'll be waiting." Seungcheol retracted to look at him as they shared an intense staring contest. Jeonghan's gaze fell on the older's lips as he looked back into his eyes again.

Jeonghan quickly averted his gaze while gently retracting himself from the older as he began to walk away.

"Your eyes were aiming for something else, your highness." Seungcheol teased.

"Shut up." Jeonghan mumbled while walking towards the door as he pressed his palm against the spell to open it.

Seungcheol followed him while laughing as both of them got into the room.

"Wow I'm suddenly feeling sleepy." Seungcheol yawned.

"It's the after effects of being in the rain." Jeonghan nodded.

Seungcheol began to unbutton his shirt and threw it away, "Why are you looking at me as if I'm doing something illegal?"

"I was just admiring you." Jeonghan chuckled while staring at him.

"Take a closer look, no?" Seungcheol spread out his arms to display himself.

"Ay." Jeonghan winked while walking closer, "Freebies."

Seungcheol laughed at his reaction.

Jeonghan squeezed the older's biceps while his hands traced his bare torso.

Seungcheol muffled a grin, "Stop it."

"And..." Jeonghan inched closer to his ear, "What if I don't?"

"Then you bear the consequences." Seungcheol mumbled.

Jeonghan slowly backed away with a small chuckle, "I wonder what you mean."

"Try, no?" Seungcheol stepped closer.

"No, this is enough for today. Good night!" Jeonghan went into the bathroom.

After a while, Jeonghan stepped out after changing and drying himself as he saw Seungcheol already collapsed on the bed. He had also dried himself and changed into a pair of trousers while remaining shirtless.

"He's such a kid." Jeonghan scoffed as he saw Seungcheol's leg hanging down the bed while the blanket was all over the place.

Jeonghan shifted the older's leg on the bed while tucking the blanket.

He walked towards him and knelt down in front of his face. He touched his face with his fingers and brushed his hair, "Mine."

Jeonghan continued to stare at him after kissing his forehead. He didn't realise when he fell asleep just like that.

In the middle of the night, Seungcheol shifted slightly. His eyes shot opened instantly and he saw Jeonghan sitting on the floor while his hands were resting on the older's chest.

"Why is he sleeping like this?" Seungcheol cautiously woke up.

He attempted to lift Jeonghan into his arms but the younger woke up, "What?"

"You tell me?" Seungcheol raised a brow.

"I-" Jeonghan looked around, "Huh?"

"What are you doing here?" Seungcheol was concerned.

"I- uh- you were sleeping uncomfortably so I tried to fix your position and blankets-"

"And you ended up snuggling into my chest and sleep?"

"No-" Jeonghan shrugged.

"You're so perfect, do you know that?" Seungcheol pinched his nose.

"Eh?" Jeonghan scrunched his brows.

Seungcheol got into the bed, "Come here."

Jeonghan sighed as he climbed onto the bed, intentionally facing the other side of Seungcheol.

Seungcheol wrapped his arms around his waist from the back, nuzzling his face into the younger's neck, "This is better."

"Seungcheol-!" Jeonghan shifted slightly, clutching his shirt, "Stop it tickles."

Seungcheol kissed his earlobe, "You like it, don't you?"

"Stop being so cheesy, it's literally the middle of night?" Jeonghan whined.

"I don't care." Seungcheol kissed his neck.

"I swear-" Jeonghan laughed, "You're so clingy."

"Says the one who slept while patting my head and snuggling into me." Seungcheol teased.

"Shut up."

"You shut up."

"Argh Seungcheol, I hate you so much."

"I don't like you either." Seungcheol grinned while tightening his grip around the younger's waist.

"I-"

"Shh sleep and let me sleep." Seungcheol kissed his neck for one last time and then allowed himself to drift into his dreamland.

A/n : Can this be classified as slow burn?
