23| Namjoon
It was today.
Namjoon paced across his lecture hall, worrying at his lip with his teeth. Irene was dropping by after his class to help him get the last things ready. She knew how nervous he was and how perfect he wanted it to be. That's why she was risking being with Namjoon outside of her salon. And Namjoon appreciated that with his whole heart.
They'd planned this together, as much her idea as it was his. Jin's acceptance of this date was his acceptance of Irene as well as Joon. He hoped he wasn't making it too seriously.
"Your taking this too seriously." A gruff low voice mumbled.
Namjoon whirled around to be faced with one of his students. Min Yoongi.
"Whatever it is, just calm down." He mumbled and headed towards his seat.
Yoongi was right of course. Namjoon hadn't asked Jin to be his boyfriend, just for Jin to go out with him. It was much too early to be accepting families. Namjoon breathed in deeply and smiled, showing the older student his dimples, and fixed his glasses.
"Thank you." He breathed.
Jimin jogged in, hair mussed and panting slightly. "You beat me? How did you beat me, hyung?"
He looked sincerely distressed. Namjoon supposed he could understand; Yoongi was the last to leave almost every lecture and he always seemed to be sleepy or just lagging behind. It made Namjoon smile with a fondness that was especially for his students.
Yoongi simply shrugged in one fluid motion, slipping his bag off and setting it down as he sat in his seat. More students entered in various states of 'togetherness' behind Jimin, who quickly claimed a seat to the right of his boyfriend. Some of the students greeted Joon, nods and hellos and waves. Others staggered to their seats, clutching coffees close as if their lives depended on it. Some entered in a rush, stuffing papers into their bags or trying with difficulty to get something out of their bags. A sacred few walked in like sane young adults. They had their wits about them, even if a few of them were slightly sleepy.
Namjoon's heart filled with that fondness as he began his lecture and helped him the whole way through. He barely had a moment to worry over his date.
As he dismissed his class, Namjoon began to think again. His eyes had subconsciously began searching the exit for signs of Irene. Jimin's greeting fell on semi deaf ears as Joon began ordering his materials in order to leave quickly. He smiled and nodded.
"Any special plans Professor?" Jimin giggled, when Joon dropped his pens on the floor.
Joon frowned at the pens, bending to retrieve them. "Huh? Oh, yes. Please Jimin, outside of classes, Namjoon is fine. I'm not even older than half of the class."
Jimin giggled again, tightening his grip on Yoongi's sleeve in order to immobilize him. Yoongi groaned low in his throat, sensing that his boyfriend wanted him to involve himself in their trivial small talk.
"Does it happen to have anything to do with Jungkook's boss, Jin?" Yoongi sighed.
Namjoon dropped his pens again. "Um, uh, yeah. We have a date." He smiled to himself.
Yoongi frowned, "Don't be so nervous, it's unnatural Namjoon."
Laughing ruefully Namjoon had to agree. "If only it were that easy. Jin probably isn't even nervous."
_____________Jin Pov______________
"HOSEOK WHAT ARE YOU EVEN GOOD FOR IF YOU WON'T HELP ME FIND SOMETHING SEXY TO WEAR?!" Jin yelled, pulling at his hair in frustration.
The man in question fell backwards off his perch, Jin's soft pink footstool, with a yelp. "IT ISN'T MY FAULT YOU DECIDED MY OPINIONS SUCK!!"
"I have to look fabulous, but like I'm not trying. Hobi is that too much to ask?"
"Was it too much to ask you to call me J-Hope in high school? It would have stuck."
"Yes it was, this is different Jung Hoseok, get it together." Jin snapped.
"I think your the one who needs to get it together." Hobi sassed, rolling to sit up on the floor and ducking quickly to avoid getting hit in the face with a hangar that Jin threw out of his closet.
"Is it formal or is it casual? Are we going to be outside or inside? Does he want to get laid or does he want fluff?"
"WHY DOES IT MATTER? ANYTHING YOU WEAR IS APPROPRIATE FOR ALL OF THOSE SITUATIONS DEPENDING ON YOUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!!" Hobi yelled. "Just wear something you like Jin. Namjoon is crazy about you, I doubt he'll even notice."
Jin scowled at his best friend. "He'll notice if he knows what's good for him."
Laughing, Hobi pulled himself up, rooting through the mass of clothes and grabbing a shirt from the pile. It was a pale denim blue button up, and the younger threw it at Jin.
"This and some black pants. Jeans or slacks, doesn't matter. That's my last suggestion."
Jin nodded begrudgingly, "Where was this suggestion two hours ago."
Hobi huffed out a curse. "That was my first suggestion you ingrate."
Jin flipped his hair and stalked to the bathroom to change, calling imperiously over his shoulder. "Find me my black boots."
Hoseok groaned loudly behind him. "You're lucky I love you, hyung."
