12| Taehyung
"Taehyung, I'm hungry." Jungkook informed him, hanging up and stowing his phone in his pocket. "And I'm hot. So, we're going back to my house and getting pizza."
Taehyung was staring at their clasped hands, trying to make sense of the entanglement and not remembering the initiation of the contact. But it felt comforting. And Tae didn't want it to be over. Nodding slowly, he guided them both into a standing position. He held his breath, but Jungkook made no move to take his hand away, allowing Taehyung to relax into its warmth and security. He allowed himself to be led, once again, by Jungkook, around the city that was his new home. The pair retraced their steps until Jungkook started recognizing the area.
He pulled Tae down a side street lined with small shops and restaurants.
Finally, Taehyung felt the need to speak. "Do you want ice cream?"
The younger thought for a moment, then agreed. So, Taehyung bought them ice cream while Jungkook called to order their pizza. They were close enough to his apartment to beat the deliverer, even walking.
Two ice cream comes and 20 minutes later, the boys stepped off the elevator in Jungkook's building. A girl about their age was holding a black bag, poised to knock on one of the doors.
"That's me," Jungkook's hand slipped from Tae's as the younger reached for his keys and wallet.
Taehyung took the pizza, hand feeling cold and empty despite the heat radiating from the pizzas that had taken the place of Jungkook's hand. He followed Jungkook inside after the girl had left and they kicked their shoes off. The younger took the pizzas to the living room and ordered Taehyung to retrieve plates for the two of them.
When he returned to the living room, Jungkook was sitting cross-legged next to the coffee table, sniffing the pizza hungrily. He looked so small sitting there. He stretched his arms up, making grabby hands for the plate. He wore a smile as if he were about to receive the gift of a lifetime. He gave him the plate and took a seat beside him. Taehyung tried not to stare at Jungkook, he really did. But, as the day wore on and the two just kept each other company, he couldn't resist letting his eyes linger on the younger from time to time. He also couldn't help thinking about his kindness, how he made sure he was okay.
Taehyung knew perfectly well that Jungkook wasn't the type to be social or open. He could see that well, since the behavior contrasted starkly with his own. He was the type to make few, but very close friends, while Taehyung wanted to be at least kind in everyone's book. He couldn't help but stare when Jungkook dimmed the lights and turned on an anime they'd both wanted to see. Tae would rewatch it later.
Jungkook's eyes focused on the screen, he didn't seem to be easily distracted.
"If you keep staring at me, you'll miss the whole thing." Jungkook murmured without looking at him.
Taehyung didn't have it in himself to respond. He simply turned in his seat and tried to focus on the episode.

*A few hours earlier*
Jimin woke up again to Tae's gentle shaking. "Jiminie~"
Hungover and groggy, Jimin forgot his late night epiphany. All he could think about was going back to sleep.
"Tae," he groaned, "cut it out."
"I guess you do remember last night..." Tae teased.
"Last night?" He mumbled.
Pictures and words pricked his brain uncomfortably, and he shut his eyes against the onslaught.
"What part of it?"
"The part where Yoongi hyung asked you to sleep with him..."
Jimin would have fallen out of his bed had it not been for Taehyung sitting on the edge. He put a hand up to his eyes. "That was not real! It couldn't have been!"
"Oh my poor sweet Jiminie, but it was." Tae pinched his cheek and walked away. "I'm leaving now. You also smacked Jungkook's butt and cat-called Holland from down the hall!"
"I'm never leaving these covers again!"
The door closed, cutting off another of Jimin's colorful protests. No longer mentally sound, Jimin rolled out of bed, deciding to eat something small before going back to bed. The rice cake he'd grabbed was half chewed when Jimin choked on it. He struggled to down the rest of t it as he scrambled across the apartment to find his phone. He tripped over the couch and found the device on the coffee table. He slammed the Call Tae button and whispered a prayer.
Maybe he was overreacting. Tae hadn't sounded upset when he left. But nonetheless, Jimin's heart was racing as his frantic thoughts arranged themselves into quite vivid, yet unrealistic, scenarios all involving Taehyung all alone or in trouble. Except, at the moment, they seemed very possible.
Tae where r u
R u ok
Read ✔ Tae?
He spammed Taehyung's phone with messages, but Tae just wasn't responding. The increasing worry was making his head pound harder against his eyelids and his stomach churned. He knew it wasn't the hangover at this point.
Hey tel me ur
Delivered ✔ Ok
In a panic, Jimin hit the contact beneath while hastily changing his clothes.
"Hello?"
"Um, hey, who is this?" Jimin asked, pulling a shirt over his head.
"Um, Y-yoongi... You called me... Are you okay Jimin?"
Shit. Why Yoongi. "No, Tae won't answer me. I've been calling him all morning. --He's even read some of my messages, but," Jimin but his lip, trying not to cry.
He swiped at the rebellious droplets that streaked down his cheeks.

"Jimin, try to calm down --"
The rising panic couldn't be subdued with a deep breath. Tae wasn't talking to him!
Taehyung never went through this by himself. Jimin never let him. Tae would try to ice him out, but always gave up. It was way past when he should've started answering. Way past.
"I can't calm down!" He yelled, he was breathing hard, but there didn't seem to be enough air. He pulled at his hair and tried not to sob too loudly.
"Jimin, where do you live? I'll come over and we can find Taehyung together. Does that sound alright?"
Jimin agreed through his tears and sent Yoongi his address. Within minutes, Yoongi knocked on the door. Jimin opened it, being pulled into a hug almost instantly.
"Jimin, I know it's hard, but you need to calm down. Just try to breathe with me, okay?"
And Yoongi held Jimin like that until his sobs turned to sniffles and his heart's pace matched Yoongi's own. He pulled back and brushed the curtain of hair off of Jimin's forehead.
"I'll call Jungkook, Taehyung might answer him." Yoongi soothed, "Jungkook says he's with him, he's fine."
"Tell him to call me!" Jimin pleaded.
He could hear Jungkook telling them both to calm down. Then, the line clicked off and silence reared its awkward head.
Not knowing what else to do, other than wait of course, Jimin asked, "H-have you eaten yet, Yoongi?"
"No..."
"I'll get you something!" Jimin squeaked.
Now that he knew Taehyung wasn't alone, he didn't feel so panicked. Now, however, he was very aware that Min Yoongi was in his dorm. And they were alone.
