An Ally
~Zinnia's POV~
A new name, a new home, and no freedom. Serena was the only company I had. Eddie, Philip, and Drew have disappeared. My father was going to kill them. I know it. The only reason Serena is still here is because she's so quiet, my father doesn't feel the need to get rid of her.
"He won't kill them you know. If he does, then he loses all leverage over you." Serena says to me. I sigh and nod in agreement. It has been raining for three days straight, and I was sick of it. Suddenly, an idea pops into my head. I had been practicing with Allison, on how to send a tendril of my thoughts to someone else. Focusing my powers, I send a thought to Jeremiah, asking him to come to my room. Several moments later, there is a knock on the door.
"Come in." I call. Jeremiah enters my room.
"How did you do that?" He asks me.
"I've been practicing. And I wanted to ask you something." I explain. He looks at me.
"Can you teach me how to use my powers?" I inquire.
"Why do you want to learn?" He counters.
"What use is the princess if she can't even use her own powers. It's just asking for trouble. That and I need to be able to defend myself." I reply. He nods and begins instructing me on how to control my powers. After a few hours, I could use them almost as well as him.
"Excellent. I must go now, but we can continue tomorrow." He tells me. I nod, and he leaves. Serena had been watching the whole time, and she smiles at me.
"Soon we can free everyone and go home." She breathes. I nod, and practice my powers. Serena retreats to her room, and I go to sleep, a plan forming in my mind.
*~~~*The Next Morning*~~~*
My maids wake me up early and I send for Serena. She walks in, followed by Jeremiah. I decide to see if I can trust Jeremiah.
"Jeremiah, who are you loyal to?" I flat out ask, he looks taken aback.
"The Shadow Organization." He answers.
"To the King?" I question. He bites his lip.
"Not really. I'm loyal to you, and I don't really like the way the king is running things." He replies. That's all I needed.
"Well, I'm going to need your help. We are going to free my friends, then go home to Strike Academy." I admit to him.
"And you need my help?" He looks at me.
"Yes. You are the only one who can get into the dungeons, and we need you to get Melody, Eddie, Drew and Philip out." I say.
"Not Kirby?" He adds. My head snaps up and I look at him.
"Kirby is down there too? I thought he left..." I murmur.
"Your father had a few guards put him there in the middle of the night to try and break you." Jeremiah explains.
"Then save him too. And I'll use my powers to kill my father. I'm supposedly the subject of the prophesy, so I should have more power than him. He thinks he can use me, but I'm not a toy." I state. We resume my training, and finally, we deem my skill good enough to take down the king. Jeremiah leaves to go break everyone out of the dungeon, and I turn to Serena and nod. Time to do this.
~Jeremiah's POV~
I slip down to the dungeon and to the cell where her friends were being held. Using my skeleton key, I unlock the door. They all jump up and see me. I hold my finger over my lips, indicating for them to be quiet. We travel to the staircase leading to the main hall. I unlock a secret door, and lead them through a tunnel to the hangar with our ride. I knew how to fly one of them, so we just had to wait for Zinnia.
"Why are you helping us?" Melody asks when I give them permission to talk.
"Zinnia asked me to. Were all going home." I tell them.
"How can we trust you?" Kirby crosses his arms over his chest.
"Zinnia is about to attempt to kill her father so that we can be free." I explain.
~Zinnia's POV~
Serena and I slink into my father's room. I check to make sure the sleeping figure is him, then start building up my power. Serena does the same, and we prepare to end this. Just as we are about to unleash our powers, an alarm goes off. My father jumps up and we release the hold. He is blasted straight in the chest with both of our powers. I had gotten some throwing knives from Jeremiah, and used those for good measure, then raced towards the hangar. I sent a thought to him, telling him to get the plane ready. Serena and I enter the large warehouse and see blasts of different colors next to a plane. I shoot any Shadow Organization members and Kirby sees me.
"Zinnia!" He yells. People turn to look as I smile and use my powers to vault over the wall of Shadow Organization, and join the fight. I use my powers and create more throwing knives, and start using them. My aim wasn't the greatest, but I scared them enough to where they back off.
"EVERYONE ON THE JET!" I yell. They scramble on as I push back the enemy. Taking a deep breath, I shoot purple flames out and create a barrier. I get on the plane and Jeremiah takes off. I collapse into a seat, and Melody hugs me tightly, along with Drew, Eddie, Serena, and Philip. When they release me, I look over to Kirby. I could see the war in his eyes, and so I stand up, and go over to him. I hug him tightly, and he wraps his arms around me. Tears start falling down my face.
"I'm so sorry Zinnia." He murmurs. I shake my head.
"I love you no matter what Kirby." I whisper. He leans down and kisses me. I kiss back, and smile.
"I love you so much Zinnia." He says to me.
"He means it!" Serena chimes in. I laugh and Kirby and I sit together. We arrive at Strike Academy, the headmaster already waiting for us.
"Welcome home everyone." He greets us. We all head back to our dorms, Kirby's hand in mine. When we return to the lounge, we find it trashed and ransacked. Sam, Samuel, and Eric were all cleaning up.
"What happened?" Jeremiah asks.
"Amber and her friends trashed the place." Samuel explains. I sigh. Now I was gonna have to deal with her. But at least I had Kirby.
