oh my god, shut uuuuup
[Virgil's POV]
I paced around in the room.
He's gonna regret it.
You're gonna mess up the marriage.
He's going to end up hating you.
You're going to drive him away.
He's going to hate you.
'Virgil! Stop!' Janus came up to me and shook my shoulders.
'Wow! I wish I thought of that!' I rolled my eyes.
'What's wrong?'
'Let me guess.....my mental health.' I grinned.
'Stop being so negative!' Remus stood up and almost spilt the entirety of his champagne glass onto the floor.
'Stop being drunk at your brother's wedding!' I said, turning from Janus and shaking Remus' shoulders.
'Heyyyyyyyy! I'm not......yeah I get it,' Remus drooped his head and shuffled across the room trying to sit on the couch but ending up on the floor.
'So! You guys are no help! Get me Patton! Get me Patton! PATTON!' I called before Janus slapped a hand over my mouth.
'We get Patton, he'll tell Logan and Logan will tell Roman and the wedding will be called off!' Janus said with a small glare. He slowly let go of my mouth and I pouted.
'I'm serious Jan, I don't know if I can go out there.'
'I believe in, hang on one second- REMUS STOP FUCKING DOING THAT!' Janus yelled at his husband.
'Dude! I'm tryna' sober up for Ro! Don't be so dramatic!' Remus placed down the book he had been repeatedly slamming on his head and walked over.
'I swear-' Janus threatened.
'Don't worry babe, I got this.'
'You really don't.' Janus sighed, putting his head in his hands.
'Trust me! Have faith!' Remus then turned to me with a look.
'Don't say it.' I warned.
'Hey Virgil~' He began.
'Please no, we know what my answer will be if you do.' I grabbed his shoulders, 'I'm begging you don't-'
'I bet-'
'What do I win?' I immediately responded not even letting him finish, then groaning and throwing my head back.
'I'll spare your third kid from swear words class.' Remus grinned.
'I didn't tell you how many kids I want, how did you-' Remus just grinned and shushed me, pressing a finger to my lips.
'That's not the point! The point is he or she or they-'
'That's totally valid bro,'
'Thanks I try!' Remus winked before continuing, '-are spared. So?'
'Deal, let's get me a husband.' I turned and strutted out the room, leaving my soon-to-be-brother-in-law and his husband in shock.
~~~
I fiddled with my fingers as I stood by the altar. Roman begged me to let him walk down the aisle and who was I to deny him his moment?
I looked over the crowd one more time, taking everyone in; family members and distant relatives, friends of the two of us, the nicer co-workers, plus ones, workers, photographers. A lot of people. Too many people... Why are they all here? Why am I having a big wedding? Why am I getting married?
'Here he comes.' murmurs follow Janus' whisper as everyone stands up.
That's why.
Huh.
Roman grins as he slowly walks towards me. He holds a white bouquet, matching his white tux, finished with a red tie and small violet in his pocket. We were matching, of course. I had a purple tie and a small red perennial in my black tux's pocket. He approached the altar and smiled brightly as our hands connected.
'How ya feeling?' He asked quietly.
'I could use a glass of wine,' I murmured, my smile widening, 'but I'm perfect now you're here.'
'Cheesy,' He whispered.
'We're getting married?'
'Shh, he's starting.'
The officiant began a long winded speech about love and kindness and god and whatever. I couldn't repeat a word he said because my eyes were fixated on Roman. The words swirled around my head but nothing was ever truly heard except for my racing heartbeat that was beginning to slowly decrease.
'Now the vows,' The officiant said, taking a step back. We'd agreed to let me do it first and get it over with so I took a deep breath and cleared my throat.
'Ro... there's a million words I can twist to try and express how much I love you but nothing can compare to the small ones we have everyday. I truly love you more than anything in this world and I always will. I want to hear your stupid laugh and see your bright smile for the rest of my life. I love you so much Roman and I can't wait to be by your side forever.' I smiled at him as he gave a small sniffle like some from the crowd (probably Patton and Janus.)
'Virgil, you're everything to me. I can't believe I'm lucky enough to be up here, with you. You've done so much for me and I've grown so much as a person because of you. You're amazing and I'm so glad I'm getting married to you. I never want to be anywhere but with you. I'm the happiest man in the world and it's all thanks to you.' Roman grinned, tears spilling out the two grooms' eyes.
'Virgil , do you take Roman to be your lawful wedded husband, through sickness and through health?'
'I do.'
'Roman , do you take Virgil to be your lawful wedded husband through sickness and through health?'
He let out a quiet laugh, 'I do.'
'I now pronounce you, husband and...husband?'
I nearly leapt forwards into Romans arms. Cheers and claps started up from the crowd as I kissed the love of my life and was officially his. I pulled away from him and looked up into his eyes. My grin matched his, making my mouth hurt slightly but I didn't even notice. I grabbed his hand as we walked back down the aisle.
~~~
'AHHH! ' Patton screamed as he ran towards me with his arms wide open.
'Pat!' He collided with me, almost making us fall over.
'Logan got the kids then?' Roman asked him.
'Yeah! Maggie fell asleep and he's doing the crossword with August.' Patton grinned.
'Aww! How did August get along with Remy?' I asked. Patton giggled a little bit.
'Auggie was terrified! They said that Remus and Janus kept staring at them! My poor child,' Patton pouted. 'I need to look out for my kid and daughter! If Remus and Janus are scaring them then I'll have to have a word with them.' Patton folded his arms menacingly. It's been a while since I've seen Patton so merciless.
'PAPA!!' Patton turned around and caught a little girl with a head of blonde curls who was bobbing towards him.
'Hey munchkin! You woke up!' He picked up the little girl and spun her around making her laugh.
'Dada wants you back there! A-and he said to bring uncy Ro and uncy irgy!' Roman looked at the girl as if he wanted to protect her with his life -which he probably did.
'Okay, go back to him and we'll be right there!' Patton put his kid down and kissed her on the cheek. She giggled again and ran back to the crowd of guests.
'I can't believe you two are the only ones without kids!' Patton exclaimed, turning back towards us for a moment.
'Don't worry Pat, we'll catch up soon.' Roman smiled, placing an arm around my waist.
'Let's go see the kiddos!' Patton clapped. A waiter walked by and Patton grabbed two champagne glasses, quickly gulping them down. He looked at us and saw our clear faces of semi-judgment.
'Really Pat?'
'Shut up! I'm a father now, I never get this.' He hissed lightly in a friendly manor before scurrying back to his table. We only laughed for a moment, taking to glasses from the waiter right before he left.
'To us.' I grinned, clinking my glass against my husbands.
'To us.' He responded.
